More Vamps Descend on Vancouver!

It looks like true to the novel Eclipse, Jane and Demetri will be on hand to witness the aftermath of the battle with the newborn army.

Dakota Fanning was spotted shopping in Vancouver and Charlie Bewley, who plays Demetri, tweeted at approximately 3:00AM Vancouver time: “MORNING!! Doing a thruey to reset bodyclock for first night on Eclipse – going to be awesome FYeyes… Fire up x”

Twifans visited the set location of Wednesday’s/Thursday’s night/morning shoot, and from behind the established public barrier managed to snap a photo of Jack Hutson as Royce King II. Fabulous spotting on their end! I don’t know that many people would have realized straight off that it was Jack.

Speaking of Wednesday’s/Thursday’s night/morning shoot it must have been interesting, because the Vancouver Sun and Perez Hilton broadcast the location of the shoot on their respective blogs and websites—which later turned out to be dead wrong. We are wondering if that was a bit of brilliant studio manipulation, or just plain old getting a bad tip.

In the end, it was at a barn type place frequently used by various movies, TV shows, and commercials shot in Vancouver.Mandy explains in it her write up. According to Mandy that while there were certainly fans around and police were present for traffic safety and crowd control, the crowd stayed behind the barrier and was cooperative.

And lastly David Slade and the crew seem to be getting on great! David at 6:00am Tweeted that a photo he posted earlier was a trick pulled off by him and the crew. “Sorry the fish is fake, thrown by props dept, don’t tell national geographic.”

EDITED: Interesting info in the comments on it being Kevin Zegers. Definitely running contrary to all media reports available at the time of posting. We figured it could be Royce when he’s “on the run” we figured that he might look a bit disheveled by then.  We attributed the red-eye effect to…well…regular amatuer camera red eye effect, but excellent point on…well…duh, vampire!  We will check it out. Stay tuned!

Vancouver Shooting Off to a Great Start

One of the great things about shooting a movie in Vancouver in August is that it makes being pelted by hail less likely. It seems like the film crews were probably able to shoot some outdoor work with Jackson Rathbone for his Jasper backstory scene.

According to Mandy who has visited a number of the movie sets, and acted as a local tour guide for us when we were in Vancouver,

“They had torn down most everything and we chatted with crew still tearing down. There were dark black screens (typically they are white and used for either blocking views or reflecting light)

I asked why they were black (perhaps it was too sunny yesterday and instead of reflecting light as the white ones do, they were absorb light?) and they told us they were not for lighting purposes at all but to block the paparzzi… wait…. how many movies are being filmed right now that would require paparzzi?

hmmmm….

Based on the location, the conversation, and the report from Lainey on what was filmed… I conclude that this location has SERIOUS potential for having hosted Twilight Saga Eclipse filming yesterday….”

Hit Fix New Moon Set Report: Day 2

Hit Fix is continuing their coverage of their New Moon set visit.

“Showing acting isn’t always a glamorous life, our next take finds Pattinson  once again on the ground (where’s been on and off for at least two hours) writhing in pain as Alice looks up and says, “He’s O.K.” take after take.  Eventually, Edward’s pain is accurately captured and Pattinson is allowed to walk back to his trailer with his bare chest visible for all the ladies in my party to swoon over.

With Edward gone, the crew continues filming reaction shots. This time? A close up on Jane who stares ominously where Edward is supposed to be.  Notably, Fanning looks almost unrecognizable in her Volturi outfit.  She’s stunningly beautiful looking more and more like a ready to graduate senior in high school rather than the sophomore she really is.  Notably though, at least on the days we were on set, Jane says nothing.  And sadly, Fanning did not speak to us during our time there.”

Part 2 is here and in case you missed part one you can get that here.

Mainstream Media Set Reports: New Moon Filming

To make this easy, as various media outlets come online with their set reports (in other words an overview of their day and the feel they got) I’ll edit this entry and link up the info. Again this way it will be easier to find when people want to find it months from now.

Hollywood.Com Set Visit Timeline

Hollywood.com has a timeline detailing what their set visit was like. (Sneak peak hint, a timeline is the exact style that the Lexicon’s report is done in for our set visit and you will be getting that info really soon). She has everything from arrival impressions, to a not yet seen interview with Melissa Rosenberg listed. Interspersed within the timeline are the previously seen interviews with Michael Sheen, Taylor Lautner, and Wyck Godfrey. So, now you get a sense of what order and context they happened in.  Here’s a bit from the not yet seen Melissa Rosenberg interview:

MR: I’m really enjoying writing Jacob. Jacob’s a great deal of fun to write. Charlie. Particularly writing for that actor Billy Burke. Charlie is someone — Billy Burke is someone — who you just can give a line to, you can give him a deep emotional line or a funny one-liner, and that guy can deliver anything and always brings something new to it. Of course, I love writing the relationship between Bella and Edward — it’s really important.

The biggest challenge:
MR: The biggest challenge is the Bella/Edward, because you’re always writing a line between real intimacy and what’s true versus overly maudlin or melodrama. True romance and true drama — that’s always the line.”

EDITED: Because this whole set up is really kind of overwhelming in its presentation, we are breaking it up into segments that are easier to find.

The Porsche Scene

Video that a fan taped from her apartment window overlooking the Porsche scene has surfaced.

The scene is where Alice tells Bella to run to save Edward. We are linking rather than embedding because it is very spoilerish if you are trying to stay spoiler free.

RadarOnline: Montepulciano Piazza Footage

Once again since this is pretty spoilerish, we are only linking rather than embedding. The footage is video of what we only saw still pictures of the other day. Near the end you can see Chris Weitz giving direction to Robert Pattinson on where to stand and what sequence of body stances were wanted for the reveal in the sun.

Check it out on RadarOnline. TY to Mary for the heads up

_________________________________________________

Also, in case people were wondering how we decide what to link vs. what to post, here’s the deal:

If it’s officially released studio footage or fan photos/video that aren’t uber spoilery (like Jessica and Bella standing outside a movie theater: granted in the book, but not what you would call a high intensity plot point) we post the pics/vid.

If it’s behind the scenes of footage that is grabbed by people standing behind public barricades that is of a high intensity plot point (like the Volterra scenes) we only link.

If it’s illegally obtained (like breaking into the prop trailer) or is of a harrassing nature to the actors on their private time, we don’t post.

If we are given access to footage that we can only release on a certain date and time, we don’t release even if it leaks early elsewhere as it would be a violation of a contract.

New Moon Piazza Photo Montage

One fan has strung together a series of photos all acquired from different sources and angles to represent what the filming looked like from Edward’s appearance, to Bella’s run through the fountain, to the kiss, to Bella finally dragging Edward back into the shadows.

Again we are linking so if you are trying to stay spoiler free you aren’t forced into seeing images.

Filming continues today in the piazza, close-up shots of previous footage and additional background.

More Photos of Piazza Scene Via Twifans

Again we are only going to link so people aren’t spoiled if they don’t want to be.

Note that the make-up dept made sure that Kristen has a scar on her arm from James.

Photos on Twifans.

Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson in Reunion Photos

The pictures are pretty spoilerish. So we are only going to link rather than post so people aren’t forced into seeing if they don’t want to.

Also despite reports that a stunt woman would be plowing through the fountain, Kristen clearly did it herself. Also Robert ( as much as you can tell from the telephoto lens) has obviously been working out.  Not quite Taylor’s 8 pack, but ripped nonetheless.
