Breaking Dawn Synopsis Out and Filming in Rio About to Happen

Steve from Collider attended was at the American Film Market and he discovered a newly released Breaking Dawn synopsis.

“In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster The Twilight Saga, the newfound married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.

After their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal.”

As you can see the synopsis is nothing Earth shattering, pretty much what you would expect.

Speaking of the Rio de Janeiro mentioned in the synopsis, there are various reports filling Brazilian news sites about the cast’s eminent arrival later this week.

There are still reports suggesting that Taylor Lautner may becoming. Various fans are speculating if true, it’s a part of a dream sequence or Bella imagining Jake on the run with Nessie. As one fan on Twitter pointed out, “ Does no one remember Bella’s vision about Jacob & Renesmee running to Rio?!? Prob. why they’re there in Rio 2!”

Others think it’s just reporters assuming Taylor is coming because the Rob, Kristen , and Taylor’s names are frequently linked in the PR and the reporters just aren’t that familiar with the books. With Stephenie Meyer as producer, it’s hard to imagine a script run off the rails so far as to have Jake as a third wheel on Isle Esme.

The other item that might come into play is that Ashley Greene is currently in South America accompanying the Jonas Brothers on their current South American Tour which is just about over. It left us wondering if she is going to hop over to Rio to film any sequences that involve looking for Nahuel and Huelin.

Breaking Dawn Actors Seen Around Baton Rouge

According to the LSU newspaper, it seems like the atmosphere in Baton Rouge is allowing the actors to go out and enjoy the town.  For the first two movies, this was very much what the actors were able to do in Portland and Vancouver; granted, with being asked for some pictures and autographs along the way. Starting with Eclipse, however, they were virtual prisoners in their hotel rooms with constant hounding by the paparazzi. They almost never went out without a full security escort.

“”Breaking Dawn” cast member Jackson Rathbone — has been performing every Tuesday, said Eric LeBlanc, manager at Boudreaux and Thibodeaux’s.

“The crowds have been huge on Tuesdays,” LeBlanc said.

Rathbone and 100 Monkeys were at the Baton Rouge State Fair this past weekend to film a music video, according to J.H. Martin, the State Fair’s CEO and chairman.

“Because Jackson is in the movie, they have been hanging around Baton Rouge,” Martin said. “We did see an increase in people crowding around the stage when they started playing.”

Martin said the band was a pleasure to meet.

“The ladies might think [Jackson’s] the cutest because of his Southern charm,” Martin said. “They were super nice young men.”

While the production team for 100 Monkeys was filming the music video, some of the patrons started to notice, Martin said.

“We did a shot in the back by the bumper cars, and we had to get two security guards to make sure nothing got out of hand,” Martin said. “If somebody spots one, they tell the world about it on Twitter and Facebook.”

FoForks Has More Details on Filming in Brazil

FoForks, the Brazilian Twilight site, has learned some more details about the upcoming shooting in Brazil. We are bullet-pointing the highlights. You can read the full version on FoForks if you throw the site through Google translate you get a pretty good idea. (Which is how we translated because our Portuguese helper wasn’t available tonight. So, we translated via Google translate and knowledge of similar words in Spanish)

Be warned there is a bit of a spoiler on how the scene in the water between Rob and Kristen will be shot assuming their info is accurate. To avoid the potential spoiler, we left it out of our translated bullet points, but you can see it on their site. (Remember: FoForks is in Portuguese not Spanish!)

  • Stephenie Meyer will be in Brazil
  • Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Sebastião Lemos and Virgüez Carolina (Kaure) are certain
  • Virgüez Carolina is a Colombian naturalized Brazilian actress with several awards and nominations under her belt
  • There is some unreliable information indicating Taylor may be coming
  • There is some purely speculative information that MacKenzie Foy may be coming
  • There have been lots of items obtained that are all pumping money into the economy of Brazil such as  helicopters, multiple armored cars, underwater cameras, not to mention all the actual equipment needed to film
  • It is unclear where the actors with be staying. Usually celebrities stay at the Copacabana Palace. U2 and The Rolling Stones stayed there recently. However it would be a great distance from where filming would likely take place, so perhaps not. There is also speculation that this site might be used as interiors. Regardless of where they stay, security will be incredibly tight
  • 3 different islands were scouted as possible locations, the area of LAPA might be a location, their information indicates a possible scene in a taxi where they need a busy place, with many people that is brightly lit.
  • Actual filming is scheduled for 4 and a half days with another day devoted just to the logistics of setting things up. This will begin on or around November 3rd
  • A warning is provided that people should not attempt to go to the airport or filming locations as the security is tight and being able to obtain an autograph or photos or to be any place near the actors in those specific locations is unlikely and arrival times and methods are highly subject to change (Lexicon Note: we are a little hazy on this last part, we think it’s because they are saying the armored cars and the possibility of private planes makes this unlikely)

Breaking Dawn Will Film in Brazil

According to Sérgio Sá Leitão who is the director of RioFilme, an organization that according to their website “The RioFilme is an enterprise of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro linked to the Municipal Culture, which operates in the areas of distribution, supporting the expansion of the exhibition market, encouraging the formation of public and promotion of audiovisual production, aiming at the effective development of the audiovisual industry Rio.” Breaking Dawn Will film in Rio in November.

This was all announced on Twitter: (The below is our translation using our knowledge of Portuguese and Google Translate)

An estimated investment of U.S. $ 2 million into the economy of Rio is part of bringing Breaking Dawn’s team to film here. I Can not say anything else. I count on your the understanding. I think Rio is putting itself in a solid position as a destination for international productions! All security measures will be taken to ensure a smooth shoot. The City Council and Gov. of the State will provide needed support.”

It was feared earlier in the year that some street violence in  Brazil might sink the deal. However it’s now obvious that any stumbling blocks have been over come.

The Newborn Army Is On The Move

Filming of Eclipse continues in Vancouver. A recent scene, that those present surmise involves the newborn army because Xavier Samuel and Jodelle Ferland were present, was shot down at the waterfront. Various onlookers got to see quite the site by standing on public land on the opposite shore.  Mandy who ended up using the public rest room, got the shock of her life when she came out of the stall to find red-eyed extras waiting to use the facilities, now there’s something you don’t see everyday!

Vancity Allie, whose photo appears left, described the scene as:

“I had a chance to see a new set being filmed for Eclipse… the scene where the newborns arrive in Forks. It’s a picturesque scene, with mountains and water framing the background of the shot, and a sparse unoccupied beach for the newborns to arrive on… then they disappear into the forest. The vampire newborns looked absolutely chilling, and their rugged military-like outfits along with steely, determined glares just added to the mood. Filmed early in the morning, this scene was designed to look as if it had been shot at night, possibly just after dusk or just before dawn.”

See the rest of Allie’s photos and write-up here.

Mandy also visited locations similar to Allie. Mandy says:

“The vampires would simply go underwater once the camera was rolling then one by one emerge out of the water and walk slowly, menacingly towards to the shore. I love the darker angle David Slade is taking to this movie. I can’t wait for Eclipse to come out… but I have to wait for New Moon first… which I can’t wait for either :)”

You can see her write-up and photos here and here.

New Filming Pictures

The Robert Pattinson Life site has several pictures taken of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner and probably a few humans (It’s hard to tell under the hoods.)

We realize that in several shots there is a Black Volvo that is a completely differnt model and color than what Edward drove in Twilight. It is currently unknown if that is “Edward’s Car”, a backgound vehicle, or if it is Edward’s car if it will be colorized silver in post production.

Jackson Rathbone Talks Jasper’s Role in Eclipse

Vancity Allie: It’s Graduation Day!

We knew that one of the first things that they were going to film for Eclipse was the school scenes. Producer Wyck Godfrey told us “NEVER AGAIN” would they film while school was in session because it was really problematic.

They had everything from people unexpectedly in the halls screaming when they saw Rob ( I mean wouldn’t you ask for a hall pass if Robert Pattinson was in your building filming?) to the student body looking through window from a courtyard so that the actors had a hard time concentrating because of everyone’s faces pushed into the glass.  So, it should come as no surprise that they did the school scenes yesterday since school isn’t in session up in Vancouver yet.

Vancity Allie, a local blogger about all things Vancouver, was there to capture a few photos and give her write up. See Allie’s story and more photos here.

New Shooting Problem: The Plane, The Plane!

Since they are shooting Eclipse in the summer and not in the winter, it looks like David Slade has not, as of yet, had to contend with the weather issues that his predecessors did. You know, things like unexpected downpours, gale force winds, and hail…all on the same day.

Have no fear, he’s discovering another local Vancouver problem: air traffic. We witnessed this ourslef during our set visit where Chris Weitz would set up a shot and then they’d have to wait for the planes.

David recently tweeted the following:

Shot with Rob and Kristen today, both gave great performances. Lots of frustrating noisy planes overhead but beautiful scene regardless.”

Wrapped first week, probably most challenging week of our shoot. Last night Xavier Samuels delivered as astonish power performance, all good.”

Don’t worry about David. He’s found some time to relax. He attended a Dead Weather (if that name isn’t ironic in light of where he’s shootin gwe don’t know what is) concert.

Eclipse Filming: Moving Full Steam Ahead

It’s always interesting when franchise movies change directors. Everyone has something new to bring to the project. So far from what we can tell as the casual observer, David Slade seems to be plowing ahead with efficiency while maintaining a sense of humor.

In the last couple of days, sets in very different locations have gone up in the afternoon, have had shooting done at night, and by mid morning all traces are gone. Quite impressive. At the same time, after undergoing what is obviously a long night of shooting, David had tweeted to fans about a joke picture he took with the prop guys.

Mandy, talks about seeing this uber organization first hand, where a scene under a bridge involving Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel was done in a heartbeat, while still having attention to detail.

“I was not at all surprised to see NOTHING left…

I know lot’s of people don’t have sets in their own backyard but shooting a scene takes tons of time, money, people and equipment…

I am so impressed so far with how “on the ball” David Slade is.

I remember when I met him outside Blue Water Cafe for the Cast Party at the end of New Moon. He stopped to chat with me and to clear the air about the things he had previously said about Twilight Saga…. he was cordial and really quite sweet… and short… but anyways…. so far this director has been in and out of multiple sets using perfect locations and just hammering it out quick and easy…

So yes, when I saw nothing at under the bridge today I was not shocked… David Slade and his crew are good – really good!”

Check out Mandy’s full report here including pictures of Bryce and Xavier that are a bit spoilerish. So, if you don’t want to see what could be termed a Victoria’s point of view scene, don’t click this link, however this link is safe.

Mandy also mentions some of the craziness that is happening on the local Vancouver air waves and in the print media.

“Last night, we stumbled upon this set while re-visiting a previous set used for New Moon. We were excited to see another live set but did not stay long as they quickly blocked the view with several screens and large trucks…I had been texted a few seconds earlier by a friend saying “some dumb broad called the radio and claimed they would tell everyone where the set was after the break”…I have actually had massive arguements with people about publicizing set locations when you can’t control who hears… meaning crazy people hear and show up and act – well… crazy!)”
