Jackson Rathbone In Saturday Night Magazine

JacksonAirbenderSaturday Night Magazine interviewed Jackson Rathbone for his upcoming roles in The Last Airbender and Eclipse.

“While Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are wrapped up in the Twi-limelight, their co-star Jackson Rathbone is zooming along under the radar, carefully crafting his career as an actor, producer and musician. We sat down with the 25-year-old rising star to talk about his roles in not one but two of this summer’s biggest movies. First up, he reprises his role as Jasper Hale in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and then stars in M. Night Shyamalan’s fantasy adventure, The Last Airbender.

SNMag: Tell us about your role in The Last Airbender

Jackson Rathbone: I play a young warrior named Sokka who, along with his sister, discovers a mysterious boy trapped in the ice; they free him and end up on a quest to save the world. It’s a very fantastical story that originated out of the Nickelodeon cartoon and now it’s a live action epic fantasy.
SNMag: What was your initial reaction when you were cast in Twilight?
JR: It’s a great book series and Jasper has such a lush backstory so I was just really excited. But then I started getting calls from my cousins and they were even more excited than me so that kind of upped the ante – playing a character that my family knows and are excited about seeing me portray on the big screen.

Tinsel Korey Honored By Her High School

tinselalmamaterTinsel Korey has been honored by her high school in Toronto on their Wall of Fame for their fiftieth anniversary. According to the William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute website:

“In honour of Mackenzie’s 50th Anniversary, we’ve created a Wall of Fame to feature 50 Mackenzie alumni who have contributed to society in a significant way.

The possibilities are endless: Education, Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Sports, Media, Politics, Humanitarianism, Entertainment, Arts, Health Care, Retail, Technology, Law, Real Estate etc. There isn’t an aspect of our community that hasn’t benefited from Mackenzie’s alumni.”

The Wall of Fame entry for Tinsel

“Tinsel Korey is an up and coming actress and musician now living in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In 2003 she landed her first professional TV role, playing a bridesmaid named Jen on the FOX series ‘Tru Calling’ starring Eliza Dushku. In 2004 while shooting Spielberg’s TV mini-series ‘Into the West’ she composed a song of the same title hoping to get it on the soundtrack. Although it did not make it into the movie, it started to become an underground hit. The song eventually caught the attention of actor/producer Jennifer Podemski (Dance me Outside, The Rez) who invited Korey to perform it on the 2008 Aboriginal Achievement Awards. 2008 would end up becoming a very busy year for the artist, as she traveled throughout the southwest performing her songs in various venues. As well an independent film called ‘Mother’s & Daughters? directed by Carl Bessai and completely improvised by the cast (Tantoo Cardinal, Babs Chula, Gabrielle Rose, Camille Sullivan, Tiffany Lyndall-Knight and Tinsel Korey) would be invited into the 08’ Toronto International Film Festival.

In 2009 Tinsel finally made it to Los Angeles where she would audition for the role of a lifetime. Casting director Rene Haynes would bring Korey in to audition for the part of Emily in the movie ‘New Moon’. After weeks of auditioning approx. 800 girls, Summit Entertainment announced that Miss Korey would be the one to bring the beautifully scarred character to life on screen.

Off-screen Tinsel also enjoys painting, and working with youth. She travels all throughout North America teaching acting and music to Native American Youth who want to get into the entertainment industry. The course focuses on the art aspect, helping them bring out their own unique talents.”

Four Fansites to Interview Stephenie Meyer

A Huge CONGRATULATIONS To

Letters to Twilight

Twifans

Twilight Series Theories

Twilight Source

They found out today that they are going to get to interview Stephenie Meyer. Here’s how the news was broken on Stephenie’s site:

“Hey guys,

I want to do something different with publicity for this movie release. For Twilight, I did the normal press junket, for New Moon I got to go on Oprah. Both of these were fun, exciting experiences. However, they both had the same drawback—the interviews were designed for a very broad audience, and because of that, most of the questions were about things you guys have known the answers to for years. I feel like all of the basic questions have been answered, and for Eclipse I want to focus on the more specific questions of the readers. To accomplish that, I’m hosting my own mini-junket with a few fansites. It will be held on Friday, June 18th, the week before the L.A. premiere.

Unfortunately, I can’t talk to every single site, and I want to keep this as low key and enjoyable as possible. So I put all the U.S. fansites in a hat (for logistical reasons, we had to keep this in the country) and drew out four names.

The names I drew were:

Each of these sites is invited to send two members of their staff (or one member and a guest) to our fan-centric mini-junket. You will be contacted shortly by my assistant, who will give you all the specific information. In the event that any of the sites is unable to send representatives, I’ve already drawn four back up sites, which I will post if it becomes necessary.

I’ll answer all of your questions (and your readers questions, if you want to poll them) about the Eclipse Movie, and the Bree story, as well, which will have been out for a few weeks by then. We’ll have lunch, hang out, and hopefully have a fantastic time. I hope you all can make it!”

Teen Vogue: Introducing Xavier Samuel

Teen Vogue features Xavier Samuel in their June/July issue.

“When Xavier Samuel arrived in Vancouver last summer, he didn’t make it far past baggage claim before he started making headlines. With just a few offbeat Australian flicks under his belt, the sandy-haired 26-year-old had been chosen to play newborn vampire Riley, the latest heartthrob in The Twilight Saga. Almost instantaneously he was being hailed as Robert Pattinson’s doppelgänger and couldn’t get coffee without seeing flashbulbs.

“It was all very sudden, not just with the paparazzi but also with being cast in general,” says Xavier, who’s been acting since high school. “I did an audition from Sydney on tape. Then I got word that it was down to four guys—and that I was one of them.” (Rumor has it he beat out Channing Tatum and Harry Potter’s Tom Felton for the part.)”

Check out the full article on Teen Vogue. where they have some great photo outtakes, a chance to go to the Eclipse premiere, and they also have a 10 Things You Should Know About Xavier list.

Peter Facinelli Staying Out of Negociations

peterpremiereThe NBC affiliate in Chicago asked Peter Facinelli to comment on the reported salary negotiations going on between Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, and Summit Entertainment.

“Facinelli told PopcornBiz at the StepUp Inspiration awards on Friday that’s he’s signed up for “Breaking Dawn” but he is not using his fatherly influence to work with the other kids.

“I haven’t spoken to them about this,” he says, adding that he doesn’t plan to either.”Their deals are their deals. I respect whatever they decide to do. Every actor has to do their deal.”

According to various articles Peter Facinelli and Billy Burke have signed and Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone have or are about to sign. Rob, Kristen, and Taylor according to their USA Today story are a done deal. You can see the full story on NBC Chicago’s Popcorn Biz Blog.

Robert Pattinson and Eclipse Bands Hitting the Talkshow Circuit

eclipsebill

We’re sure the Eclipse cast will be popping up in more locations once we get closer to June 30th. Jimmy Kimmel has Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner on June 23rd. They tape on June 14th, so we’re sure some details will leak out early.  However there are a couple of other appearances before that:

May 26- The Black Keys (number 7 position on the Eclipse soundtrack with Chop and Change) will be on Jimmy Fallon

May 18-Nikki Reed is on Ellen.

May 19-Robert Pattinson is on Ellen. Also on the same day is self-professed Twilight fan Adam Lambert. This should be interesting!

June 6-Vampire Weekend(number 10 on the Eclipse soundtrack with Jonathan Low) will be on Stephen Colbert. No word if he’ll be bringing his stapler with him.
