Jamie Campbell Autograph Session

If you have a weekend pass to Comic Con, you may be able to see Jamie Campbell Bower up close and in person. Jamie Campbell Bower will be doing an autograph session at Comic Con on Friday, July 24th. He will be appearing along with his castmates from The Prisoner: Jim Caviezel and Lennie James from 12:45pm-1:45pm in Autograph Area 7.

According to AMC’s press release, ““The Prisoner,” a re-imagination of the 1960s cult classic created by the late Patrick McGoohan, premieres this November on AMC.”

Hit Fix: Melissa Rosenberg Interview

Hit Fix got an exclusive with Melissa Rosenberg regarding the writing of the Twilight Saga movies and how involved the directors were/are in the process:

“Q: What’s your working relationship with each of the directors for each movie?

It’s been different every time. In ‘Twilight’ Catherine was on-board before I came on. So, I had her input right from the start and because we were working on a very, very tight schedule.  Over the course of about a month I wrote the outline and then they said ‘Can you do a draft in five weeks?’ And I said ‘Sure.’ (Laughing.) And then they said ‘When do you want to get it made because of the writers strike?’ We were fighting the October 31st date, and well, what should I do? And that was a 24/7 slam fest and Catherine was very, very important in that process because I was able to get her immediate feedback. So, I’d finish a draft or scene or act or whatever and shoot it to her and get her immediate feedback right there so I could really tailor it very clearly for her and what she wanted to make it — what she wanted the movie to be. It was a very, very collaborative process. You know as you can imagine ‘New Moon’ we didn’t have a director on-board when I started writing that and so that was kind of me alone. Of course the Summit folks, you know the producers of Summit, they’re all the people who I then become collaborative with and get their notes and their feedback, but it was pretty much me until Chris came on and that was November, I think.  So then Chris got involved and I start tailoring it to what he’s looking for and by then the project’s kind of done and then he goes off and he starts shooting it and Chris is a writer himself so he was really able, and by the way I don’t know if you’ve met him yet?

Q: Not yet.

He’s really a lovely guy and you’ll see. So I did like one or two drafts with him and then was really able to trust him to take it from there to make any changes that might need to be made for production or for whatever reason because I trust [him because he’s a] wonderful writer. But basically the script is a script and he’s got that and I jumped from there and here you go and ran on to do ‘Eclipse.’ So that’s been a pretty wild ride.”

Blogger Maggie Visits View Point Inn

Maggie, our favorite blogger who worked on the Twilight set, recently had a chance to visit the View Point Inn, the filming site of the prom scene in Twilight. Maggie’s been in and around the Portland area lately. She was the official photographer for the Vampire Baseball event sponsored by Twilight FanTrips.

Comic Con Recap Rundown

Since there is so much Comic Con info out there and things have been added and changed, we thought we’d do a recap to make it easier on everyone. From the Lexicon: Alphie, Pel, & Be My Escape (Lori, Laura, & Jen) will be attending Comic Con and Twilight related Comic Con events. So if you are going to any of the below events, give us a shout out and we’ll look for you!

Thursday, July 23rd


1:45p.m. to 2:45 p.m. New Moon Panel discussion and sneak peak of the movie. in Hall H San Diego Convention Center, Comic Con event (you need a Comic Con ticket). Keep in mind as per Comic Con policy, your ticket to Comic Con guarantees you entrance into the main convention center not a particular presentation. So if you want to see the New Moon panel, get there early because given what happened last year, this presentation is going to fill up fast!

5:30pm – ???pm “The Twilight Experience” (you do not need a Comic Con ticket, but you need a Fandango ticket)

“The Twilight Experience,” a one-night-only special theatrical re-release of global sensation TWILIGHT, featuring an introduction by cast members. Screening tickets are $10 and can only be purchased online at Fandango and picked up at the theater prior to the event. Multiple staggered showings of TWILIGHT will take place at the Pacific Gaslamp 15. Doors open at 5:30 and fans with tickets will be admitted on a first come, first-seated basis. The Pacific Gaslamp 15 is located at 701 5th Ave., just a few blocks from the Convention Center. 

KEY DETAILS:
Two tickets per person limit.
Tickets are $10
Tickets will go on sale sometime between 9:00-9:30am PST on Monday, 7/20.

You will need to purchase and pick up your tickets before 1:00pm PST on Thursday, 7/23 in person. So, if you are attending the Comic Con panel, you’re going to have to pick up these tickets the day before!

Join the operators of of some of the biggest Twilight sites talk about the fandom, set visits, hold trivia contests, and more. Borders 668 6th Avenue in the Gaslamp District walkable from the Convention Center

The milk chocolate is a heart with the word “Bella” stamped in it on top of the Cullen Crest.

MSN: Cameron Bright Interview

MSN was able to get a few moments with Cameron Bright who plays Alec in New Moon. Cameron probably had one of the easiest commutes to work during the film shooting as he is a Vancouver native.

“Is there pressure to kind of come into a movie that’s so big, as a new person?

Well it’s definitely different. Like, I was in “X-Men 3,” right? So that was kind of the same, but that was the last one of it. So I was in the last one, but this one there’s still two more coming. So it’s kind of mixing in and you know, it might give me a chance to finally be recognized and get bigger. Because all my other movies didn’t really have anything going for them until they came out; that was when they got it. Whereas this one already has a huge fan base because of the books and everything.”

Now Official: Xavier Samuel is Riley

The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news about the rumor of Xavier Samuel being cast as Riley a couple of days ago along with a Aussie paper.

Xavier has finally confirmed it in person and Summit has verified as well. It is official he is Riley. There is no other info on other hot roles such as Leah at this time.

Xavier’s reaction, “”I’m in a bit of a daze but it’s a wonderful bit of news.” Boy is that an understatement! 🙂 Welcome to Twilight, Xavier!

Hollywood.com Interviews Charlie Bewley

Charlie Bewley, who has done some seriously impressive homework prepping for a relatively minor role, shares the backstory he created for his character’s motivation:

“Do you actually know Demetri’s backstory, based on what’s in the book?
CB: I made it up.

Tell us!
CB: Demetri was obviously Italian. And at a young age, he was orphaned. He was living in the foothills of Mt. Vesuvius — the big, volcanic mountain — and in 900 A.D., it erupts. Lava starts pouring down, and his parents get caught in it. Their house gets taken apart. I outrun the lava, into the foothills, where I found a place where I was safe, essentially. But I couldn’t provide for myself, so I was thrown into slavery. I went through various masters but they couldn’t pin me down, because I was so nonchalant and arrogant and just ran away from everyone; it was really frustrating. I kept getting sold on to the next guy — the next master, for the best price they could get — and I was too nice for someone just to kill me….”

Stunt Co-ordinator JJ Makaro On New Moon Techniques

Hollywood.com also spoke with stunt co-ordinator JJ Makaro, whose twenty plus year career has some seriously impressive credits,  about the differences between Twilight and New Moon stunts:

“In the first movie, the goal was to make it more like a Hong Kong action-type thing. Are you going far away from that?
JM: Yeah, we’re trying to tone the Hong Kong aspect down and go more real. Going to the actors, we spent a lot of time talking to them about what their character would be and what kind of performance. Rather than teaching them how to fight in a particular style, we’re trying to adapt our fights to match their style that they already bring with them.

There aren’t a lot of fights on this show. Mostly it’s been about chasing or jumping and transition of being a human to wolf, and selling the fact that the wolf boys are something that we don’t quite understand yet.

We have wirework, but we’re really trying to not do a lot of it. We don’t want to get into the Hong Kong, floaty stuff that you see all the time, vampires hanging in the air and all of that. It’s a tough call, because wires are wires, and the inherent problem with them is exactly that. They get floaty on you. So we’re having a heck of a time trying to find the balance that gives us enough to make it supernatural without it being over the top.”
