Dune Take 4

Dune, the cult classic novel by Frank Herbert, was first made into a movie in 1984, then there was the Dune miniseries in 200o, not to be confused with the Children of Dune miniseries in 2003.

Why is any of this important? According to Extra and X17, Robert Pattinson is up for a role in the latest incarnation set to hit screens in 2010. Peter Berg is slated to direct.

Recently Rob was rumored to be linked to the Pirates of the Caribbean fanchise, these rumors proved false. Rob also had to pull out of Parts Per Billion due to filming schedules that couldn’t be worked out.  Good luck to Rob on his Dune venture assuming this project is what he’s looking for.

How Powerful Will Robert Pattinson Be in New Moon?

That’s the question that The Deadbolt asks in their latest feature.

“Edward Cullen will be a strong spirit in New Moon, but from an acting standpoint, Robert Pattinson will need to up the Twilight ante to make as much of an impression on New Moon as he did in Twilight. Although the events of New Moon have already been set in harmony with the novel, it’s not like Robert Pattinson can simply mail in his performance, especially since the Twilight Saga is – safe to say – twice as popular as it was before the first film. In leaving his imprint on New Moon, how will Pattinson make the most of his time for the sake of the character and the set-up to the third Twilight film, Eclipse?”

and to chat about some of the other actors and filmmakers who came out to celebrate the event, including Justin Chon

and Christian Serratos from Twilight, Chris and Sean Marquette, Luke Eberl, Aaron Himelstein, Kris Lemche, Shaun Sipos, Lauren Storm, and Jonathan Levine (director of All the Boys Love Mandy Lane and The Wackness)..”

Jackson Rathbone Talks With Radar Online

Jackson Rathbone spoke with RadarOnline about is 100 Monkeys Plans and how Twilight has affected his private life.

RadarOnline: Your character in Twilight, Jasper, is so withdrawn and cold. Do you think fans are a little hesitant to approach you in public? Especially compared with some of your castmates?

Jackson Rathbone: People rarely recognize me, which is actually pretty sweet. I try to change my look in every role I take on: clothing, hairstyle, walk, facial expression, and the way I speak. Sometimes it’s subtle and sometimes it’s not, but as I am not a blonde in real life, people often do the double look before approaching me.”

Happy Mother’s Day

Pel first wrote this post two year’s ago and we still feel the same way. It’s becoming our Mother’s Day tradition. Only Pel just added the third paragraph. The admin team is pretty much taking the day of to spend with families. Go and hang out with your Moms, there won’t be a lot of news today!

I know that we are all in love with Stephenie’s literary babies, but more importantly, Stephenie is the Mom to three boys.  Hats off to Stephenie and to all the Supermoms out out there, today is your day!

From personal experience, as a Mom, like Stephenie, who works outside the home (note I didn’t say working mom, because as any mom can tell you it’s work…period.), it’s hard to balance the “office work” and the “mom work” in a society that is critical of you no matter what your choice.

Kudos, to stay-at-home moms like Alphie, who has two children under six. Stay -at home-moms (SAHM) sacrifice all kinds of things to make sure kids are successful a their first dance recitals, put up with cranky after and before nap behavior, and run a household pretty much single-handedly better than a corporate CEO with a fleet of paid support staff.

Special shout out to all the single Moms. In the past year I have a whole new respect for the ladies who do it on their own because life has left them (for whatever reason) with no other choice.  The manage all the above and have no one to depend on but themselves. Round of applause and my deepest admiration for you ladies.

Moms of every type need to be cut a break, because let’s face it, without us none of you would be here! So, make your mom’s day and tell her “thanks”, and if you really want to make it special tell her thanks next Sunday too.

Eclispe and New Moon Dinner

The New Moon and Eclipse casts plus Stephenie Meyer and David Slade all met at a Vancounver restaurant whose location was broadcast on Twitter almost as soon as they arrived by Canadian gossip columnist Lainey.

Vancity Allie who has covered events before was already in that area and maintained the respectful coverage that she has gotten all along. Check out her blog for the details.

“Amy managed to get a photo with Stephenie Meyer. Only photo of the night! Stephenie was absolutely lovely and signed some books for another fan. She was really sweet and was worried about looking tired after the long night, but I’m sure you’ll agree she looks amazing. Stephenie had a bright blood red purse that was totally Twilight appropriate.”

Bella’s Song Poll

Ok here is what you have been waiting for all week! I have actually read through all the comments(all 591) and listened to all the songs (no idea how many).  I have chosen 15 songs for you guys to vote on.  Now before everyone gets huffy about which songs were chosen, I did take into consideration ALL the songs however I couldn’t put that many in a poll, so I took ones that were mentioned numerous times and ones I thought fit.  Below there is a list with the songs and links so everyone can hear them.  I highly suggest listening to the songs before voting you might be surprised at what you find, I was.  I must say I love doing these polls because I get introduced to some truly great music that I wouldn’t normally find on my own.  One last thing to remember this is just for our personal fun.  This has nothing to do with the actual soundtrack!  Enjoy!

Be My Escape

PS-You will want to check out next week’s music feature! =P

PPS- I have been out and was just checking the post and realized I forgot to mention that My Immortal isn’t on the poll because almost everyone would pick it! So pick a song other than that. Also just a note this is for F-U-N.

Montepulciano Preview

Blogger Maggie is back with her report on Montepulciano. She’s describes the city, scouts some possible locations, and has fabulous pictures.

“I made my father pull over at one point so I could get a picture from the road as we approached the city, as I’m sure it’ll be an establishing shot in New Moon. The city sits on top of a hill and while it’s gorgeous in hues of orange, red and brown amongst the greenery, it is rather ominous and forbidding. That’s the point of these hill-fort towns though, to protect them against invaders and be forbidding; that’s precisely what Montepulciano does. It certainly ‘sets the scene.”

New Moon Twitter and Facebook Roundup

First up Michael Sheen wins for the funniest comments:

“Met Stephenie yesterday on the set. She was charming and enthusiastic and very positive. Keep forgetting how freaky i look with my red eyes”

i think Dakota may look the most unsettling though. So angelic yet so weird. As Jane that is of course. like an evil red riding hood.”

Melissa Rosenberg, who the other day spoke about David Slade, now talks about Chris Weitz:

“Writing from the set of New Moon, a ridiculously happy place to be. Everyone is having a gas. Especially me. You’d expect at least one person to be snarky after working so hard for so long but I haven’t heard a single sour note.

Chris Weitz is the zen ringmaster doing a fantastic job. The Volturi look amaaaazing. Michael Sheen embodies Aro so completely, elevating the role to a whole new level. Dakota as Jane knocks me out. Rob and Kristen are gorgeous of course and and and… I probably shouldn’t gush so much, no one will believe that everything is perfect but it is!”
