Tracey Heggins as Senna

Judi Shekoni as Zafrina

Now if you want more information on what projects of Judi and Tracey you should focus on, check out Twilight From a Different Point of View. They have an excellent article up featuring these two ladies and their work!

Angela Sarafyan, Yes She’s That State Farm Girl!

One of readers, Ana, remembered one of the new Breaking Dawn Cast members from a commercial. Ana writes, “I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out where I’ve seen Angela Sarafyan aka Tia in Breaking Dawn before. After looking thorough various pics I figured out she was the girl in the State Farm Commercial!”

HitFix: Kristen Stewart Possible Supporting Actress Oscar

HitFix has an article up on twenty or so actresses they think might score and Oscar nod this year. Kristen Stewart made the list for her performance in Welcome to the Rileys. They list the pros and cons of each actress they list.

Pro: She gives a strong and sympathetic performance as a young hooker who agrees to try and turn her life around under the guidance of a visiting salesman (James Gandolfini).  She also gave a pretty great turn as Joan Jett in “The Runaways” earlier this year and has an impressive resume that has built up goodwill with roles in “Into the Wild,” “The Yellow Handkerchief” and “Adventureland.”

Con: The problem is the movie’s distributor may not send out screeners (a big need for this one) and there’s that “Twilight Saga” elephant in the room.  She might need that series to be over before she’s taken seriously again by the industry.”

There’s some really tough competition on the list with multiple Oscar winners and nominees like Amy Adams, Helena Bonham-Carter, Diane Weist and Sissy Spacek all noted as possible contenders.  Our gut feeling is that Kristen has a real shot of making the nomination list, but actually winning may prove problematic given the probable nomination of Helena Bonham-Carter and the massive amount of Oscar buzz the movie The King’s Speech is getting.

Check out all the contenders on HitFix, it’s a pretty impressive list. Melissa Leo, Kristen’s co-star in Welcome to the Rileys, is also on it, but for a different movie.

Laura was able to see a pre-screening of Welcome to the Rileys last night. We can’t post a review yet because it’s under embargo (we’d love to talk about it because we have lots of good things to say, but that’s the way it goes), but to comment on the HitFix article we can state that we agree completely with the Hit Fix assessment of the pro’s.

Massive Breaking Dawn Casting Update

Summit LogoThis just in from Summit Entertainment:

Summit Entertainment announced today the following have been cast in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN for roles in The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven and The Romanian Coven as well as the American and European Nomads as outlined below.

THE AMAZON COVEN
· The Amazon Coven is comprised of Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina.

· Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe.  They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.

THE EGYPTIAN COVEN
· The Egyptian Coven is comprised of:
o Omar Metwally (RENDITION, MUNICH) as Amun.
o Andrea Gabriel (Lost, House) as Kebi.
o Rami Malek (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) as Benjamin.
o Angela Sarafyan (LOVE HURTS, THE GOOD GUYS) as Tia.

· The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.

THE IRISH COVEN
· The Irish Coven is comprised of Marlane Barnes (THE TREE OF LIFE) as Maggie, Lisa Howard as Siobhan and Patrick Brennan as Liam.

· The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie’s talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.

THE ROMANIAN COVEN
· The Romanian Coven is comprised of Noel Fisher (THE PACIFIC, FINAL DESTINATION 2) as Vladimir and Guri Weinberg (MUNICH) as Stefan.

· The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi.  For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.

THE AMERICAN NOMADS
· The American Nomads are comprised of:
o Lee Pace as Garrett (Pushing Daisies, THE GOOD SHEPHERD).
o Toni Trucks (MUSIC AND LYRICS) as Mary.
o Bill Tangradi (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Randall.
o Erik Odom as Peter.
o Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars) as Charlotte.

· Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle’s closest and oldest friends.

· Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires.

· Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates.  They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player.  They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.

THE EUROPEAN NOMADS
· The European Nomads are comprised of Joe Anderson (THE CRAZIES) as Alistair

· A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority.  Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.

Solomon Trimble Puts Out Plea to Public to Help Find Missing Nephew

Solomon Trimble who had a small role in the original Twilight movie put out a plea on his Facebook for people in the Portland, Oregon area to help find his missing nephew who is the subject of an Amber Alert. Details below are from the Oregon Live Website.

“Portland police are looking for the public’s help in finding an 11-year-old North Portland boy who was last seen about 5 p.m. Tuesday. Police dispatched officers and detectives from the Missing Persons Unit to look for the boy and searched for him throughout the night, but were unable to locate him.

The boy, 11-year-old Lok Chante Marcellay, was last scene getting off a school bus in front of his home in North Portland. He is described as being about 4 feet, 7 inches, about 80 pounds, having straight black shoulder length hair and brown eyes.

When last seen, he was wearing an orange t-shirt, khaki cargo shorts and thick, black-framed glasses.

UPDATED DESCRIPTION:Update: 4’7” and about 80 lbs. Last seen wearing an orange T-shirt and blue with white stripes, Nike wind breaker and tan shorts, and Air Jordan tennis shoes. Lok has thick black glasses and has shoulder length straight black hair and brown eyes.

At this point, police detectives do not think that Marcellay was abducted by a stranger.

Detectives have asked that anyone who knows of Lok’s current whereabouts immediately call 9-1-1. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein at 503-823-0446″

The family has also set up a Facebook page.

If you live in the Portland area and believe that you may have seen Lok Chante Marcellay please contact the authorities at the above numbers. Also if you live in the Portland area, please help to spread the word and his photo.

The thoughts and prayers of the Lexicon staff are with Solomon and his family.

UPDATE 2: The information below is quoted from the Portland Tribune the article is being revised as details emerge.

Police suspect he was taken by his mother and boyfriend. Morning Star Marcellay, 34, was arrested in Olympia, Wash., early Thursday morning on unrelated charges. Michael Hall is still being sought in connection with the case.

Police believe the boy might be somewhere in Washington, possibly around Tacoma, Olympia or Bellingham.

Police said a court order prevented Morning Star Marcellay from having contact with her son.

Police have asked that anyone who knows of Marcellay’s current whereabouts to immediately call 9-1-1.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Det. Mike Weinstein, 503-823-0446.

UPDATE 3: Lok has been found! According to Oregon Live and other local media:

“An 11-year-old boy who was last seen getting off a school bus in North Portland Tuesday was found safe Thursday evening, the Portland Police Bureau reported.

Lok Chante Marcellay is in good health and spirits, said Sgt. Pete Simpson, a bureau spokesman. His family has been notified, but the boy remains in the custody of law enforcement officers.”

The case was essentially one of abduction by the non-custodial parent.  It would seem based on the news reports that alert citizens who saw Lok and reported sightings to officials were instrumental in him being located.
