Letters to Twilight On MSN’s Obsessed: Harry Potter vs. Twilight

The gals over at Letters to Twilight wrote to tell us that, “A few weeks back I was contacted by comedian Kevin Avery who is producing a web series on MSN.com called Obsessed which explores fandoms and why people like what they like. The first fandoms he wanted to feature were Harry Potter and Twilight! I had the pleasure of sitting down with Kevin to talk some Twilight and help him understand why we love it so much and why our fandom is the bestest.”

A bigger description in on the Letters to Twilight website.

“Last month I was asked to be interviewed as a Twilight “Expert” (ha!) in a web series called Obsessed by comedian Kevin Avery. The series was going to compare the Twilight and Harry Potter fandoms.  I’m sure you can guess that I thought it was going to be a Colbert Report type thing where Twilighters were made fun of they went for the easy jokes instead of really getting to know a bit more about the Twilight fandom. BUUUTTT that was not the case at all, Kevin was awesome and totally got the fun, the crazy and the deep stuff about Twilight. I had a blast letting him in on the inner workings of the Twidom and sharing a little bit of why we love Twilight so much even when it doesn’t make sense!”

Bobby Long Launches Album and Looks Beyond Twilight and Never Think

Back when Twilight was the little indie movie that could, back in the day when Summit didn’t realize what they had, and the media, save for MTV, was largely ignorant to the franchise, director Catherine Hardwicke chose songs written by Robert Pattinson’s friends: Bobby Long, Sam Bradley, and Marcus Foster to appear in the movie.

Bobby Long has just released an album, but he’s not relying on that Never Think Let Me Sign feel as the Wall Street Journal found out:

“While Bobby Long was at university in London, he fell in with a group of musicians that included Robert Pattinson, future star of the “Twilight” films. “Let Me Sign,” a song Mr. Long co-wrote and said he performed only once in public, was sung by Mr. Pattinson in the first “Twilight” installment with all the intensity of Van Morrison’s “Astral Weeks.”

There are worse ways to launch your career, but Mr. Long all but disavows the song. “It’s not really who I am and what I’m doing now,” he said when we met one recent frigid morning at the Cake Shop, a club here on the Lower East Side a short walk from his apartment.”

Chris Weitz Bets Bella Would Like His Latest Movie

Chris Weitz’s latest movie goes back to his indie filmmaker roots.  It’s called A Better Life and is incidentally a Summit Entertainment film.  Chris Weitz describes the movie as, “In a very unsentimental, realistic way, it explores the love between a father and son and the tremendous efforts that people make to realize their dreams in this country.”

During their interview, Cinematical asked Chris if Twilight fans would come out for this film. Here is what he had to say:

To the Twi-hards:

Weitz says: “Look, let’s be honest: There’s not a single vampire, not a werewolf or star-crossed romance in sight. Jose is quite a heartthrob but just doesn’t have Jacob’s abs. Demian plays an amazing Dad but doesn’t have to deal with quite the same issues as Charlie Swan. But if a fan of ‘Twilight’ came away from watching ‘New Moon’ with a sense that that movie has been done well by me and my crew, they might be interested in seeing another film that deals with some pretty intense feelings and, frankly, packs a tremendous emotional wallop. I’ll put it this way: I bet that Bella would go see ‘A Better Life.’ I bet she’d make the drive out to Port Angeles. And I bet she’d like it.”

Photo: Filming Continues in Baton Rogue and Rachel St.Gelais Confirmed as a Duplicate Renesmee

Over on Twitter Saints Nurse managed to capture the actors as they moved from building to building. You can clearly see Robert Pattinson, Stephenie Meyer, Kellan Lutz, and producer Wyck Godfrey in the photo. We cropped the photo and blew it up so you’re not looking through the iron bars so much. There are also two, bright silver Volvo SUVs in the parking lot in some of the shots that some are speculating might be Edward’s car this time out. When we first saw the photos, we commented on Twitter,”Ah I can it’s time for the inmates to take their daily recreational walk at Stalag 17″. It’s a bit like playing where’s Waldo behind bars. See more photos on SaintsNurse’s Twitter

Also Rachel St. Gelais (who we first reported out here) is confirmed as being a part of the production. We are assuming she is a younger version of Renesmee. She apparently had a good time filming according to her Twitter. She chatted back and forth on Twitter with Erik Odom and Valorie Curry who play Peter and Charlotte.  You can follow her on Twitter here. The Twitter is run by her parents.

Nylon Magazine Giving Away Kristen Stewart Autograph

Nylon Magazine just informed us that:

“Today, we’re giving away a DVD of Welcome to the Rileys, an independent drama where Stewart plays a teen prostitute living in post-Katrina New Orleans.

The film drew rave reviews at Sundance, and prompted Roger Ebert to comment, “I’m watching the beginnings of an important new actress,” in his review.”

Ashley Greene: Teen Vogue Covergirl, Chance to Meet Her and More

Teen Vogue is still updating their pages. They seem to have a server issue going on. So far this is what we know. Ashley is their March 2011 cover model. They have a contest going where you can meet Ashley. Click here for the rules and entry.

There’s a great gallery of photos and quotes. On boyfriend Joe Jonas Ashley said, “We met through mutual friends in London, which is crazy because we both live in L.A. And we’ve already met each other’s parents, which I think is a good result of the kind of lifestyle we live. He’s sweet and really funny, which is huge for me.”

They have a gallery of eight more photos from the shoot here.
Once they are done debugging it, there should be a video on this page. and in theory there should be a more developed story here.
