Bobby Long on Twitter Trends and New Music on Myspace

Bobby Long now has over 500,000(I am sure music fans can help that number grow) hits on MySpace !  He just added new tunes and photos with more music to come.  Bobby was also number one on Twitter Trends, yesterday.

Bobby has just posted “Who Have You Been Loving” which was one of my favorite songs when I saw him perform in April in NYC and if you haven’t checked out his music do it!! Also “The Rattle and Roll” is great.  In case anyone needs reminding he co-wrote “Let Me Sign” with Marcus Foster.

Happy Birthday to The Host

The Host is 1 year old and what a crazy year it has been!  It debuted at #1 and hasn’t left the list since. Current placing on the New York  Times #6, Publisher’s Weekly #6, and USA Today #21.   It doesn’t feel like it has been a  year since The Host took over the Lexicon and we were introduced to some truly amazing new characters.   Wanderer: the invader who you can’t help but like for her peaceful ideals, Melanie: the soul who refuses to give up and can often be violent, Jared: torn between the love he thought he lost and the body that remains, and of course, Ian: the one person who sees Wanderer for who she really is.

Check back later in the week as we bring you a Host Contest with a very cool prize.  Hint: It’s really about the love!

Kellan Lutz at the Nylon Party and The Volturi Arrive in Vancouver

MTV has an reports on Kellan Lutz and the girls from The Hills. It seems they were all partying it up at the  Nylon Young Hollywood Issue shindig.

OMG Celebrity News has the arrival of the Volturi in Vancouver. The article talks about Michael Sheen and Jamie Campbell Bowers arrival in Vanpcouver.  Be warned part of the story contains information on scenes that have been filming. So beware of spoilers!!

Kellan Lutz On Italy and David Slade

Also of note in the video is that Kellan addresses fake Twitters and states that he doesn’t have one for fans. For weeks we’ve been seeing fans sucked in on various accounts on Twitter where they are thinking they are talking to the real Kellan Lutz. One is actually a pretty good fake that tweets with a pretty creative fake Ashley Greene account. How do we know they are fake? Tweeting while the real Ashley was physically on planes, on stage at a charity presentation, and the fake Ashley account falsely stating that real Ashley doesn’t have an MySpace when in fact she does.

To date the only two members of the Twilight Saga movies who have accounts that they use to speak to fans with are Jamie Campbell Bower and Michael Sheen.

Edited: Interesting how immediately after this footage was released that the fake Ashley account suddenly was deleted.

David Slade Addresses The Eclipse Concerns

Yesterday we received a call from Summit giving us the heads up that David Slade would be personally emailing us to address the yesterday’s biggest news story, his comments on the Twilight movie that he made during a radio call-in program back in November.

It’s a good thing they called  because we’re fairly certain that we wouldn’t have believed someone emailing in claiming to be David Slade. In fact his email went to our spam box where we just found it. It was sent last night circa 10:00pm.

According to our contact, David is a really decent and down-to-earth guy who was genuinely concerned about what happened, and wanted to address it personally, not just rely on a studio press release.

In any case, here is David, unedited and  in his own words:

“Dear Laura and Lori

I would be grateful if you could distribute this statement to the fans of Twilight:I would like to address some statements that I made regarding Twilight.

When I made these comments, I had neither seen the film nor read the books. I was promoting a comedy short film that I had made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible comedy target. I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart.

Of course, I have since seen the movie and read the books and was quickly consumed with the rich storytelling and the beautifully honest characters that Stephenie Meyer created.

I would like to reassure everyone involved that I am invested in making the best film that I am humanly capable of, and that I am acutely aware of the power of the original books we serve.

Please be rest assured this statement is absolutely from the heart.

yours sincerely

DAVID SLADE”

Rachelle Lefevre Defends Twilight

Rachelle Lefevre  guest stars on Vh1’s Free Radio on Thursday, May 7th at 11 PM.  According to the site’s press release, “Host Lance Krall rips into the movie and disses it’s departure from traditional Vampire “rules.””

This particular show is known for giving its guests a hard time, it’s kind of their trademark. The show has a toned-down shock jock feel, so we are assuming that Rachelle knew what she was getting herself into.  Anyway, no fear, Rachelle gave back as good as she got.

Jack’s Mannequin on Stephenie Meyer

Blast got an opportunity to talk at length with Jack’s Mannequin front man Andrew McMahon about the group’s new album, working with Stephenie Meyer, the Dear Jack Foundation and the future of Something Corporate.

BLAST: How involved was Stephenie in the process of filming the video?

AM: It wasn’t like she was behind the camera, you know, she’s an author. There was this guy named Nobel Jones who is a director and she was on set the whole time, she obviously wrote the treatment, and she and Nobel collaborated quite a bit as far as the execution of her vision and how she wanted it to look. She was definitely there and approving shots and giving her opinion of certain shots as we went along, so she was definitely a part of the production and the directing of the video, sure.”
