Chris Weitz talks New Moon, Eclipse, and Fans

MTV has a great interveiw with New Moon Director Chris Weitz. Below is a small excerpt besure to check out teh article in its entire at MTV.com

“As a fan and a filmmaker, I’m excited to see finished stuff from ‘Eclipse’ rather than anything in progress,” Weitz said. “When you see works in progress, there’s always some guy standing in front of some big green curtain, and it’s all terribly disappointing. You really want to see the good stuff once it’s all finished.”

The article has some great information on how Chris Weitz and David Slade transitioned bewtweened the two films.  The best quote from the interview  “[I] was reading the book and really trying to pay attention to what I thought the devoted reader would want out of the film,” he said. “And I thought, ‘Well, they want something grand.’ “

So is it true? Do Twilight fans want something grand to come from New Moon?? I know silly question.

Vanity Fair Interviews Kellan Lutz

Vanity Fair is continuing their Twilight cast interviews. They last interviewed Peter Facinelli and now it’s on to Kellan Lutz with some interruption by Jackson Rathbone.

“Kellan discussed the cast’s love of reading, what’ll make it on the blooper reel, and his part in the upcoming remake of horror classic A Nightmare on Elm Street.

You’re currently on a break. What do you usually love to do on your downtime?

I love to read. I have a Kindle, and it’s nice to be able to download books that people refer. Rob[ert Pattinson] reads all of the time and he refers so many great books, Jackson [Rathbone], as well, and Kristen [Stewart]. It’s nice to just download books because we have so much downtime. I have close to eight hours a day to read. I finish so many books it’s amazing. I’m also doing Rosetta Stone, learning some French.”

Hot Topic: Times Square Preliminary Details

The Trinty Blog did a little investigation and has the following photos and information from their trip.

“Alright, here’s the scoop we got from a Toys R Us employee who just so happened to be a total TwiHard herself (made it easier to pry information out of her!):

- This exclusive Hot Topic/New Moon “boutique” is not currently open to the public. It is believed to be opening this weekend, possibly as early as tomorrow. The Volturi chairs still need to be hung and they haven’t finished stocking the shelves and putting out all the merch (yes, there is MORE than what you see!).

- The dirtbikes and Volturi chairs are OFFICIAL from the New Moon set in Vancouver – they are inaccessible to the public. Basically, they are a “look don’t touch” type of deal. As mentioned above, the Volturi chairs will be hung up high out of reach of the public.

- This exclusive Hot Topic/New Moon “boutique” will run through December – which means you better get there ASAP!”

See more on the Trinity blog and realize that Hot Topic/Toys R Us Still have details to iron out here. There absolutely will be an event in Times Square, just what is happening and what the procedure is,  is a bit unclear at present.

Charlie Bewley on UK Talk Show

The 5:19 show in the UK is kind of a teens/20′s pop culture talk show.  Check out Charlie. Seriously, folks charisma…lots and lots of charisma.

Charlie Bewley: Glamour Magazine Interview

Charlie Bewley did an interview with Glamour Magazine. He gives great insight into what the filming was like for the new kid on the block. Although Demetri is a minor role, it’s our prediction that the role and Charlie are going to be huge fan favorites based on the trailer clips and our meeting him at the Creation Twilight Tour. One thing Charlie has tons of is charisma, that and the fact that he has biceps that are out of this world is going to capture notice.

Were you a Twilight fan before you were cast in New Moon?
I wasn’t a Twilight fan. I just couldn’t get over that whole alpha male-ism that there might be a better-looking person out there in the world but me. (LAUGHS)

What was it about the part of Demetri that part that attracted you?
With Demetri, I knew that I could bring something to this character that no one else could; a certain energy and flare and charisma that I could really bring to him and make my own.

How was it coming into the cast for the second movie as an outsider?
A lot of people misquoted me when I said that it was difficult to come into a group of actors like that and they thought that the whole Hollywood cliché was the problem, but what it is is that with Twilight you have a phenomenon that’s only a year old and everyone has gone through it together; the staple six or eight characters in this film have gone through this massive amount of attention from the world and they have had to bond; they’ve had no choice, whether they liked each other from the start or not. And for people to come onto the set on such a high profile film and expect to just walk in and start high-fiving, that’s just not logical and human nature, and it does take two or three days for people to adjust to someone’s personality and sense of humour, etc. ”

New Moon Taking on 2012

Well, we’re sure that the last thing Sony Pictures anticipated was a New Moon blow out on their 2012 polls.  They ended up asking viewers in a poll what movies, books, music, etc they would save if the world was ending. To say that Twilight was a dominating force in their polls would be an understatement.

Now, HitFix talks about how these two films are slated to be the big Thanksgiving money makers. Only according to HitFix, it’s going to be another blow out:

“Conventional wisdom has long assumed that November’s two biggest releases would be Sony Pictures’ “2012″ and Summit Entertainment’s “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.” In theory, both pictures seemingly should be successful as they have little audience cross over.  As the second installment in the “Twilight” series, “New Moon” should dominate with women and younger women especially. “2012″ is an old fashioned disaster movie that should be a four quadrant sell (i.e., movie for everyone) that drives older audiences, teens and regular moviegoers.  Based on the latest pre-release polling, however, one of the films is in much better shape to dominate the box office than the other.”
