“Super Saturday is best described as a couture garage sale, but with celebrity guests and a tony Hamptons setting. InStyle has hosted the event with Donna Karan and Kelly Ripa for several years; this time, Twilight star Ashley Greene is set to join in. The 13th annual sale will stocked with merchandise from over 200 designers, including Diane von Furstenberg, Catherine Malandrino, Elizabeth & James and Giorgio Armani, and it’s all for a good cause: Proceeds benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. If you can’t make it to the Hamptons this weekend, QVC will be broadcasting the event from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. EST, offering viewers the chance to purchase a variety of items from the sale including apparel, accessories and beauty. Sounds super.”
So tune in to QVC to see Ashley and to potentially snag some gently used celebrity items.
SM: They have some moments, which are hard to do with fiction because everybody wants constant pacing. I tend to slow down. A lot of what my editors did was cut. Because I just wanna sit and “Let’s have a nice moment. Let’s have a happy time.”
Q: One of the most “nice moments” is when they’re in Edward’s room in bed, and he proposes, okay? There are lots of people that have asked questions, I’ve probably had 10 or 20 just within that one scene. But the one I want the answer to the most is: Edward at one point, he kind-of caves. Just a smidge. When he says “no, no, stop, we’re not doing this until we are married” — is it more out of a moral issue, or is it more out of “I want to make sure you keep up your end of the deal”?
SM: They’re equal parts. There are a couple of things. One is, Edward was born in 1901. And in his mind — he understands the world more clearly than we do. He hears everybody’s thoughts. But to him, this is kind of a…for him it’s a very disrespectful… And he can’t get away from the taboos of his youth. It would be wrong to take advantage of her, in his mind. And obviously, she has a completely different viewpoint. Her viewpoint of it is very modern. She knows that she is with him forever, and she doesn’t see his point. But he just comes from a different place. And I really like, every place I could put in, that would really date him. Because I like when he is…..109.
Christina over on Twitter told us about this one. Jackson Rathbone is part of a celebrity video wishing Dora Happy Birthday. You can find the video on the Nick Jr site. Jackson first pops ups at around the .09 mark and then a couple more times. Check it out.
Melissa Rosenberg talked to MTV about the challenge of getting the multitude of new vampires into Breaking Dawn and Internet rumor, and how she has used her facebook to talk with fans.
“”I ask people to really weigh in with what are their favorite scenes in the books, what’s important to them,” Rosenberg said. “And there generally seems to be a consensus about one scene or another. It’s really helpful for me and I’ll interact with them sometimes.”
She added that the fan interaction has helped her to squash any out-of-control Internet-generated rumors about her “Dawn” scripts. “At one point, [the fans] were upset because they had gotten the impression that I was choosing not to put the birthing scene in the script, and I was able to go online and say, ‘I don’t know where that idea came from, but of course the birthing scene is going to be in.’ ” Another Net-generated rumor, according to Rosenberg, is that she won’t include the Book of Jacob in the final film. “I don’t know where that idea came from, but that is not true,” she confirmed. “We are going to see Jacob’s perspective equally, so don’t worry.”
We missed doing Wolfpack Wednesday yesterday so we are doing it today and we’ll extend comments through Friday at 11:59pm est.
Today we are giving away a print of a painting (see left) done by Alex Meraz entitled Faith that Alex signed at the Official Twilight Convention in Indianapolis.
So check out Alex’s website to see the many forms of the arts that Alex participates in and tell us which is your favorite of Alex’s many art forms and why, and we’ll pick a random winner from the comments.
As long as you’re going to become an edgy vampire with the uncanny ability to sparkle in the sunlight, you might as well do it with style. Ashley Greene’s spunky coiffed Alice Cullen provides the useful (yet inexplicable) gift of foresight throughout the Twilight Saga, but unfortunately couldn’t tell that Bella was cliff-diving instead of jumping to her death.
Like anyone would be so torn up over Robert Pattinson. But he is dreamy.”
Joe Mantegna let the cat out of the bag yesterday via Twitter that Mike Welch would be appearing on an episode of Criminal Minds where Joe Mantegna is a series regular. Joe and Mike previously worked together on the short-lived but critically acclaimed Joan of Arcadia.
Larry 411 has more details including the air date.
“Welch came to prominence as uber-nerd Luke Girardi on two seasons of Joan of Arcadia, in which he co-starred with the masterful Joe Mantegna in 45 episodes from 2003-2005.
Now he reunites with Mantegna (Special Agent David Rossi) on a new episode of Criminal Minds. The show, titled JJ, will air on September 29th on the CBS network. Joan of Arcadia alum Chris Marquette, who’s worked with Welch several times since then (Choose Connor, Remember the Daze), will also be appearing on the episode.
The series has been in the Nielsen Top 20 for the past two seasons and is on the DVR Top 10. Criminal Minds is produced by The Mark Gordon Company and CBS Television Studios.”
