Stephenie Meyer:Fan Junket Interview: Eclipse Flashbacks

Twilight Series Theories has the transcript of this next part of the luncheon discussion four fansites had with Stephenie Meyer.

“TST(Kallie): Ok, I have a question… It is movie related… In Eclipse we get a lot of background for Rosalie, Jasper and the Quileutes. Which I love, love, love!  it’s my favorite part of reading the book, and getting to know the characters.  So which of the backgrounds are you most excited, or have you been most excited to played out on film?

SM: I found Jasper’s really exciting.

TST(Kallie): That’s what I’m most excited about!

SM: I think that having read them… Well, when I was writing them I really liked the Quileute background.

TST(Kallie): I love the Quileutes, and so for me, I was so excited to see the third wife and all that.  But because reading Bree (The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner) I am so excited to see Jackson’s background being played out.

SM: They’re short in the movie, becasue they have to be.  That’s always the heartbreak of them. The biology scene… it kills you because you want to see Rob and Kristen do that.

LT: It’ll just be five hours long!

SM: Yah! So it was hard to have them shortened down.  I think that Nikki Reed will surprise you in her section, she does so great!”

Eclipse Breaks IMAX Record

According to The Numbers:

“As expected, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse had a huge opening on IMAX; in fact, it set a record, pulling in $1 million during midnight screenings alone. This broke the previous record of $950,000 held by Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Over the six days, the film made $9 million on 193 IMAX screens domestically, while it added $235,000 on just 11 IMAX screens internationally.

Also announced this week were the results of IMAX’s second quarter at the box office, and they were impressive. From April to June, IMAX pulled in $115.0 million, which is a 37% increase from the same time last year. It goes without saying that this is much stronger than the industry at large. Over the first six months, IMAX has generated $347.2 million in ticket sales, more than triple last year’s pace.”

Ashley Greene Wins PETA Award

This just in from PETA

“For choosing to partner with cruelty-free cosmetics company Avon, Ashley Greene has earned a Kind Choices Award from PETA. Greene will receive a framed certificate and a card signed by PETA staffers.

Greene isn’t the only Twilight star to stick up for animals. Kellan Lutz and Christian Serratos have both teamed up with PETA to fight animal abuse.

Greene is the new face of mark, Avon’s youth-oriented brand. Avon was the first major cosmetics company to adopt a cruelty-free policy—the company ended all animal testing of its products and ingredients in 1989, years before many Twilight fans were born. Over the years, Avon has received PETA awards for its cutting-edge, cruelty-free policies governing not only its cosmetics but also the Avon Foundation’s work against breast cancer.

“Ashley and Avon are to be congratulated for encouraging millions of Twilight fans and other young people to choose makeup that’s fun, not fatal,” says PETA Vice President of Laboratory Investigations Kathy Guillermo. “Thanks to cruelty-free companies such as Avon, you can get a to-die-for look that no animals had to die for.”
