Breaking Dawn Teaser Poster

Collider is running a series of images taken at a CinemaCon of the Breaking Dawn Part 2 Teaser one sheets.  We contacted Summit and these images are not being released online, so this is the best we can do right now.    It’s the same image that is featured on the iTunes website as well.  What do you think?

Kellan Lutz Arm Wrestles Kristen Stewart

A week or so ago we had some images of Bella and Emmett in story board form of the anticipated arm wrestling scene in Breaking Dawn Part 2.  Kellan Lutz confirmed filming the scene in a conversation he had with Us Weekly at a recent event.

“Kristen and I have a fun arm-wrestling scene,” Lutz said.  “I’ve been looking forward to that since day one of the franchise!”

But with the Twilight franchise coming to an end, Kellan is not shy about being interested in other franchises like Hunger Games.  He told E! News at the same Us Weekly event the following:

“I love the script, I love the movie, everything about it!”  Lutz said he’s “always been” a fan of the franchise. “I got hooked reading all those books,” he said. “I remember before they ever started making a movie, I was like, “I would love to be a part of this!'”

What are your thoughts? Would you love to see Kellan in Catching Fire or Mockingjay? Leave us a comment and let us know.

Video: Cosmopolis Trailer

Robert Pattinson is being praised for his work on Cosmopolis.  Having never read the book by Don DeLillo, when I first read the description of the plot focusing on a young millionaire driving across Manhattan in search of a hair cut I wasn’t too interested.  But with this latest trailer, and the stellar cast, my interest is certainly piqued!  How about you?  Leave us a comment and tell us how you feel about this film and which film of Rob’s are you more excited for – Cosmopolis or Bel Ami?

The Bloggess Meets Stephenie Meyer

If you haven’t ever read the website The Bloggess check it out. It’s one of the most refreshingly witty, snarky and at times downright hysterical blogs out there. If you run a website, you absolutely have to read what she does to people who make ludicrous requests, AKA Will Wheaton Collating Paper, it is sheer genius.

Jenny Lawson, whose blog it is, just wrote a book about her off-beat misadventures through life called Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. So this is what happened last night at her book signing.

We sold out of books in the first half and I signed everything from tongues to metal chickens to xanax bottles, but the most bizarre thing I signed was this…

That totally sweet and normal looking woman? Is Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight series, who flew all the way out to come to my reading and surprised me so much that I got all fangirly and started rambling about how I dressed up as a werewolf for the last movie and then I misspelled her name on her book. True story.

Lesson here: Be less drunk when you’re signing books. Also, Stephenie Meyer has a complicated name and very pretty hair.

TY to Jenny for the tip

I’m doing another reading tonight near San Francisco. Come? Pretty please?

Breaking Dawn 2 Extra Filming to Include Michael Sheen

Bill Condon announced to the fandom that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would be returning to Vancouver to shoot additional material. It now looks like Michael Sheen will be there too. Jack Morrissey, Bill Condon’s partner revealed the following on his regular podcast.

“It’s less than a week, and we already know that Rob and Kristen will be there; I just tweeted yesterday that yes, there will be wigs involved, but I did blur the line by pointing out that Michael Sheen will also doubtless be spotted throughout the Vancouver airport to reprise for one last time his part of Aro the leader of the Volturi . . . As Bill mentioned in his letter to the fans, Rob and Kristen will be donning their gold contacts one last time . . . She’s donning both [red and gold], and Michael Sheen will be donning red.”

Morrissey further clarified that the shots being done do not involve dialogue and are all items from the second until. Usually second until is background footage, or things not involving one-on-one dialogue with the principals. In other words some typical examples would be long shots, action sequences, sweeping vistas. For example, during our New Moon set visit we saw Chris Weitz shooting the scene where Sam brings Bella back to Charlie. This was first unit director work. On that very same night, the second unit was in a different location shooting Victoria running through the woods. The was no dialogue but a lot of hoisting Rachelle Lefevre and her stunt double up and down in wire rigs.

As we previously reported, shooting additional footage has occurred on every film and is fairly common in the industry. Catherine Hardwicke reshoot part of the meadow scene in California after filming had wrapped. Chris Weitz shot the Cullen flashback scene after filming had wrapped. David Slade had to reshoot portions of the tent scene and. And not exactly a reshoot, but Bill Condon ended up shooting in the Virgin Islands on the last days of production when stormy weather mucked up honeymoon shots in Brazil.

You can see a summary of the podcast here on Twilight Examiner and you can listen to then entire podcast (not it’s not PG-13 and you probably want to skip the Smodcast intro if you are at work, it wouldn’t be considered worksafe at my place of business) here.

EDITED: I just spoke with Jack Morrissey who read your comments and he believes he spoke out of turn by stating Kristen would be in gold contacts. he now believes it’s red contacts only.

Tonner Doll To Begin Producing Breaking Dawn Line

Tonner Dolls has not had a new Twilight figure since the Alice, Jasper, and Jane looks from New Moon(see the available collection here).

Other Twilight based dolls have been retired. They just tweeted out the below information asking for suggestions for a Breaking Dawn line.

Make you you tweet your opinion to Tonner!

Last summer we visited the Tonner booth at Comic Con

Stephenie Meyer’s Production Company Options Down a Dark Hall

Stephenie Meyer’s production company has optioned their second venture, and Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey is looking to get involved. Their first was the yet to be released Austenland by Shannon Hale that shot last summer in England.

According to Variety

“Twilight” scribe Stephenie Meyer and Meghan Hibbett’s Fickle Fish Films have optioned young-adult suspense tome “Down a Dark Hall” by novelist Lois Duncan and will produce a feature-film adaptation.

Duncan’s 1974 novel revolves around Blackwood boarding school and its mysterious students. Ensnared in the chilling world is new student Kit Gordy, who must unravel Blackwood’s haunted and tragic history before it’s too late. “Twilight” producer Wyck Godfrey is also in talks to produce.

You can follow Lois Duncan here on Twitter @duncanauthor She’s also probably best known for the novel/movie adaptations I Know What You Did Last Summer and Hotel For Dogs

Perhaps this is one the their joint projects that Wyck Godfrey almost spilled the beans on when we interviewed him on the Eclipse red carpet!

EW Vistis the Set of The Host and Talks Seeker and Wanderer Details

EW was just on the set of The Host movie and they have some insider details for us.

Fans of Stephenie Meyer’s 600-plus-page novel have likely already gathered from the description above that film interpretation of The Seeker is almost the exact opposite of how she’s described in the book. Instead of small, dark-haired, and clad mostly in black, the very blonde Kruger stands regally on some serious wedge heels, dressed in a futuristic cream-colored pant suit. It’s a change designed by writer-director Andrew Niccol (Gattica, In Time) to reflect the “purity” of the egalitarian Souls, and Meyer told me on the set that she happily embraced it. Gattica is her favorite sci-fi film of all time.

As for the delightful Ronan, although she wasn’t working that day, she came out to the set to speak with EW about the film, one day after the Oscar-nominated Irish actress turned 18. We’ll have video of our interviews with her, Meyer, Kruger, and Irons in the coming months — the movie, which is still shooting, isn’t hitting theaters until March 29, 2013, after all — but I can tell you how Ronan is differentiating the alien Wanderer from the internal voice of Melanie in the film. It’s actually quite simple: The Wanderer speaks with a generic American accent, whereas Melanie’s voice is inflected with a Louisiana twang, another Meyer-approved tweak from the book.

Which Twillight Scenes Would You Reshoot

Kara Warner from MTV put out a request on Twitter yesterday asking “If you could have any scene in any of the previous films re-shot, which one would you revamp?” There’s a really great write up on MTV with the results. Two of the items that the Lexicon tweeted were also covered by others: The Meadow Scene in Twilight and Bella and Edward’s reunion in New Moon.

In light of the news that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are headed back to the “Breaking Dawn — Part 2” set for a few re-shoots, this week’s Twilight Tuesday posed the question: If you could have any scene in any of the previous films re-shot, which one would you revamp? (Pun intended!)

As always, the members of the knowledgeable and passionate “Twilight” fan community responded to the query with gusto. Some folks want to see extended versions of their favorite scenes, some are still displeased with the book-to-film adaptation in certain areas and some requested they re-shoot entire films altogether. But there are two scenes that a majority of fans agreed could use a makeover: the meadow scene in “Twilight” and Edward and Bella’s reunion in “New Moon.”

Check out the details on MTV.
