Breaking Dawn Casting Rumors, Are Just Rumors

Over the weekend news broke on Twitter that there was supposedly casting information available on Breaking Dawn. The acting/casting blog that broke the story initially cited Lana Veenker (one of the people involved in the casting of the original Twilight movie) as being attached to the project as well as other people. They listed Lana’s casting office address, phone and email address.

We immediately thought that this info was slightly odd, because Lana is in frequent contact with us, and this is the kind of thing that she would have mentioned specifically or at least  given a “heads up look for big news tomorrow” kind of thing.

So we contacted Summit and Lana to see what was what. Being a weekend, Summit didn’t respond until today, but Lana got back to us on Saturday stating “For the record, we have not yet been contacted by production about this possibility and have not been hired to provide casting services.”

So we Tweeted that update from Lana, and linked on Twitter to a blog post that she made about it.  Moments after Lana posted on her blog that this was all news to her the blog that started the rumor suddenly deleted all references to Lana and another casting agent, but made no mention that the post was edited or previously contained incorrect info. Unfortunately, it seems that the incorrect info got out there and now Lana writes, “Can you help me put a stop to the onslaught of calls and emails we’re starting to receive and post a link on your site to my blog post nixing the Breaking Dawn casting rumors?”

So here’s the link to Lana’s blog and here’s the statement issued by Summit Entertainment, “Please disregard any information…regarding casting for BREAKING DAWN are both false[the links to the blog and their press release]” (We edited out the links to the site where the rumor started and a press release that site issued.)

Twilight Halloween Style

There are so many Twilight Halloween things going on right now we thought we’d put them all in one post. Pictured left is one of the really great shots that people sent us last year of their Halloween Twilight style.

First up, if you are trying to dress like a Cullen or other character, Twilight Poison is back again this year with their costume and makeup advice, which got a big thumbs up last year from MTV.

How To Costuming Guide for girls.

How To Costuming Guide for guys.

Makeup tips

OK, so now that you have the look down, what can you do? Answer, enter the costume contest over at His Golden Eyes!

Next up is pumpkin carving. This has really seemed to have taken off in the past few years. Never mind the triangle eyes and jagged teeth that used to be the standard. Stencil carvings are all the rage. Here’s some advice on where you can get templates.

Sylvie sent us this link and you can find even more here.  Now if you have a different idea, there is even software to help you create it.

Now that you have mastered pumpkin carving, if your pumpkin is Rob Pattinson themed, you can enter a contest over at MTV’s Hollywood crush.

And last but not least, The Lexicon is sponsoring its own Halloween pumpkin carving contest. Ours isn’t limited to just Rob, or even Twilight. We want pumpkins that depict the entire world of Stephenie Meyer: Twilight, The Host, even Stephenie herself. Send a photo of your World of Stephenie Meyer pumpkin to [email protected] by 11:59pm est October 24, 2009. We’ll announce the winners on Halloween. We’ll give out prizes from our Cafe Press store to one person in each of  the following categories: Best Book Cover(s), Best Movie Related, and Most Unique.

Tinsel Korey and Chaske Spencer on Take 40

Tinsel Korey and Chaske Spencer were guests on the Take 40 in Australia. There is a brief synopsis and full audio interview which is fantastic, and well worth the time to listen to.

When asked about the wolf pack guys Tinsel said:

“They’re good looking guys, what can you say?! Alex and Taylor were doing these dance offs…Taylor won’t I love the Alex but Taylor won!”

Chaske added:

“Yeah it’s kind of embarrassing…We’re in the make up room… and all of us are trying to check out our muscles going ‘We could work a little more on this… probably could lose a little more weight on that'”

Lykke Li: How She Got Hooked With New Moon

Lykke Li wasn’t hooked until she saw a rough cut of New Moon and then she was onboard for the soundtrack. Check out her video and interview on MTV.

Reminder: Reelz Channel Ultimate Team Fans

Reelz channel asked us to remind the fans about their current Ultimate fan contest. According to Reelz:

“In our search for the Ultimate Team Jacob and Team Edward Twilight Fans, we’ve received an impressive assortment of creative entries. First there were poems and songs gathered at TwiCon. Since then, we’ve received artwork, essays, and photographs of elaborate displays perhaps best described as shrines.

With 10 days (and two weekends) left before the search deadline, we wanted to showcase a few of the items we’ve received — and remind you to get in your submission by October 19, 2009. WARNING: As the door sign on one snapshot we received cautioned, “You are about to enter the presence of an overly obsessed Twilight fan. Be prepared for ear-piercing shrieks and out-of-control babbling about some guy named Edward Cullen.” Ditto that for a guy named Jacob Black.”

Ashley Greene on The Twilight Review

The Twilight review snagged an interview with Ashley Greene.

TSR.com: The various mediums of acting can have very different requirements and advantages, what medium do you prefer to work in film or TV and why?

AG: I like both. There’s good and bad stuff in both. For example, films are cool, you can see all the producer’s work and you can go to awesome places like BC for the Twilight Saga, for example, but you have to be apart of your family, friends and people you love for months. But that also means I have fun traveling around the world and I have great great great 3-months-vacays. Now, TV… is cool. Crew and cast are so awesome, is like work with your 2nd family because you know EVERYONE. But it takes more time to film and is like high school schedule and blah blah blah. So… I guess both are cool, but I’m more into movies than get a job in some TV series.

See it all on the Twilight Review. It came to our attention after this article was posted that the interview was conducted with an impostor who duped the Twilight Review. It is our understanding that the matter is under investigation by Ashley Greene’s legal team.

David Slade Tweets Pictures on Day Off

David Slade is back on Twitter again. This time David finally had a day off!

“This afternoon nature walk, first day off in as long as I can remember.”

He then gave out another array of great photos. We can’t remember who exactly said it on Twitter, but someone suggested that David put all these great behind the scenes photos and more in a book. Seems like a possible idea to us. what do you think?

The Twitters supposedly run by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed are all fakes. Ways to tell: mislabeling of photos stating where & when the pics were taken, Tweeting while clearly performing , all created around the same date, claiming they are posting personal photos when in reality are actually recycled paparazzi shots, official sites of actors don’t list a Twitter, etc. Also if they were real, Mr. Uber Twilight Twitter himself, Peter Facinelli, would no doubt mention it.

Meet the Volturi Down Under

Cameron Bright, Charlie Bewley, and Christopher Heyerdahl (who play Alec, Demitri, and Marcus) were at a convention in Australia this weekend and had time for an interview with Movie Mazzupial.

“Christopher: It was great fun, that’s the wonderful thing about being inside a studio. Certainly the majority of the Volturi scenes for New Moon were done inside a studio and in there you enter a cloistered, inner-sanctum where we’re protected on all sides. So all the pandemonium that happens outside bounces off this protective wall of the studio, so it was really easy to just do the work. But as soon as we left the studio and went outside to restaurants or hotels, what have you, the pandemonium was definitely there.

MM: What were some of the difficulties playing the role? I mean, all of your characters are essentially pretty evil, was that too hard to get into?

Charlie: I don’t know, it was fairly hard. The biggest trouble I found with my character was just his complete desire to want to let it rip, you know? You are bestowed with these powers of speed and strength and, you know, Demetri has a talent for tracking as well. I found I had to contain myself during the scenes and not just completely defy the script, whip around and go round ripping people’s heads off.

Christopher: (Laughs) I had no idea that was going on in your head, that’s amazing. You scare me now (laughs).”

Check out the rest of the interview here.
