David Slade Gives Behind the Scenes Picture

David Slade was back on Twitter again giving out some details and sharing a behind the scenes image.

Today, vampires talking, vampires kissing, rain stayed away. We had to battle the sunlight to keep our vampires from sparkling too much.”

and

When the vampires sparkle we need to use a special camera filter to expose it on film. Otherwise the film over exposes.”

Also, speaking of Twitter, Ashley Greene has just made an account. You can follow Ashley at AshleyMGreene

Fan Encounter with Peter Facinelli

A local Vancouver fan, SL,  stumbled across the set the other day on her way home from work, and this is her experience.  (Note she was standing behind the established perimeter and cooperated with the staff.)

“After taking the video of Jacobs house and shed last year, I  kind of forgot about the hidden away house, driving by on occasion, showing friends from out of town. On my way home from work last Thursday, the last thing I expected was to see was action on the set, but as I drove by the neon signs, I decided to detour past(instead of going home), and low and behold it was buzzing with action.

There were tall black screens blocking most outside views, but a small group of fans clustered on the corner assured me I wasn’t the only one who knew where  the set was anymore. Talking with the crowd, I talked with two girls who flew from Toronto to see the sets and a group of lovely ladies from Washington who drove up just for the day!

Not long after I arrived, two fairly well styled men arrived observing the set and joking with the crowd. I soon learned they were paparazzi hoping to catch a shot of our favorite stars! Later on they pulled out their super long lenses and snapped a few pictures of Peter Facinelli and the wolves talking with director David Slade. Our tiny digital cameras were no match for their long lensed professional cameras! So they let us look at the pictures off their cameras and were super nice! They left and the hours passed by.

Hearing the calls of David Slade calling ‘action’ and ‘cut’. Even a few bike revs and a male scream!! (from I’m assuming Jacob as his rib is repaired by Dr.Cullen!) Later we were asked to return to our cars out of the shot, and the fans slowly drive off, giving up! I stayed[note she moved out of the way of the shot and stayed in a different area out of the way] until it looked like they were done with the shot.

I walk down to the PA and observed as the lights were being turned off, I heard someone on the radio say ‘Carlisle’…My heart raced. I asked if they were done and the PA said yes! I looked and watched a rush of make-up artists and hair stylists leave the set, and towards the tinted window car, I saw a flash of bright blonde hair, and I yelled ‘I love you Peter’ he looked up before stepping into the car, said something to his assistants, and started to walk towards me!!! He looked exhausted! but AMAZING in his full costume! His golden, amber eyes glinting in the street light (did i mention it was now 2:30am!).

He shook my hand (I could feel the white make-up coating his hands) he  said thank you for waiting! I was just in shock and a little starstruck, I held my my camera out and he said that he was really sorry but he couldn’t take a picture with me because he was in full costume! He gave me a big hug and went on his way! I know this may sound silly and I probably imagined it, but either that fight training has given him and even more rock hard body, or he was just really in character, he felt hard as stone! heheh

That’s the closest I’ll ever get to hugging a real vampire!! Thank You Peter for being a wonderful guy and making Carlisle the amazing character we all imagined him to be!! xo Sunny

Michael Sheen Talks New Moon on Press Junket

Both Collider and IESB reporters had a chance to speak with Michael Sheen about his multiple upcoming projects including New Moon.

First from Collider:

You mentioned your daughter. You’re quoted in the NY Post as saying she was a little annoyed when you took the part.

Michael Sheen: Right, well, I think she felt a whole combination of emotions. I think she was a bit overwhelmed by the fact that I was going to be in it. I think she was really excited, but, at the same time, I remember what this was like when I was ten, eleven. If there was something I was really into, the last thing I wanted was for my mom and dad to be into it as well. That’s just annoying. So she was very excited and she cried when I first told her about it. I think it was just her fantasy/imaginative world suddenly colliding with her reality. She didn’t know how she felt about it. She punched me I remember and kicked me. I think that was her sort of frustration with me. In fact it was her mother who said, “Is it because that’s your thing and now daddy’s getting in on it?” And she said, “Yes.” So it was her (as usual) very perceptive mother who got that. But then, very quickly, she made peace with that and then she was just very excited about going to the premiere.”

Next from IESB:

Q: Where do you start, when you’re doing a literary adaptation, like with New Moon or Alice in Wonderland?

“…That was the same for New Moon. Weirdly, I found myself on the set and I suddenly heard the voice of the Blue Meanie in Yellow Submarine. There’s a thing that Stephenie writes in the book that his voice was like feathers, and just suddenly I heard this voice that really disturbed me when I was a kid. It was very gentle and soft, but there was something very scary about it. So, for little things like that, you never know where it’s going to come from.”

Phenomenal New Moon Behind the Scenes Pictures

According to the LA Times Blacklot, photographer “David Strick was on the set about 15-20 minutes outside of Vancouver as director Chris Weitz and the cast and crew shot scenes late at night, in a very chilly Capitano Park Forest, until at least 4 a.m.”

There are nearly 40 photos, that’s right 40,  in all that are just stunning. Guess your best if they are flashbacks, outtakes, or dream sequences…or maybe all three, as Bella’s bed seems to be in the forest.  Which is your favorite?

TY to ME for the heads up.

Muse Reworks “I Belong to You” for New Moon Soundtrack

According to MTV, Muse frontman, Matthew Bellamy, confirmed exactly how Muse will take part in the New Moon soundtrack:

“He [Chris Weitz] wants a rendition of that [I Belong to You], but the only thing with the new film is they want the songs to be exclusive to the film. So he’s asking if I mind doing, or if we mind doing an alternative version of it.”

Bellamy said the band is up to the challenge. “I think it’s all right. … If it was one of the main tracks on [our] album, I would never do it,” he said. “But it’s actually one of the weirder tracks on the album … one of the ‘can’t believe we got away with it’ kind of tracks. I think it might be worth giving it a go [because] it’s a track that might not get played live very often … so it might give that track some life that it wouldn’t have otherwise.”

Jackson Rathbone’s New Look at the 100 Monkeys Show

Jackson Rathbone was sporting a 1950’s pompadour and a mustache at the 100 Monkeys’ show at Neptoon Records this past weekend.

According to RadarOnline:

One thing that really stands out about the Twilight cast is that they’re always supporting each other, especially if their castmate is in a band. Jackson Rathbone’s 100 Monkeys has been playing in Vancouver, and Saturday night his on-screen love Ashley Greene and new addition to the series Xavier Samuel rocked out at the show.”

Check out the rest of the article here. What do you think of Jackson’s look? We thought it was a bit of The Stray Cats meet Bob Stencil.

Kellan Lutz: The Double-edged Sword of Fame

Kellan Lutz talked to Kim Sherman, the Parent’s Examiner, about what it has been like living under the media microscope for the past year.

“Everyone’s so loving and supporting- there’s no haters. There’s so many Twilight fans that have given me presents- gummy bears or chew toys for my dog. It’s so humbling; people wanting to have a picture with me or wanting me to sign something. It’s so endearing.

But when we’re here working 12, 14, 16 hour days, on our off days we just want to be a normal human being and go get a bite to eat or go play pool and be normal. We just want to get out of our hotel rooms or apartments, but we can’t, and that’s a tough thing. And we don’t always want to have to look our best. I just love dressing comfy to go out, but we can’t because there’s always photographers there.”

See the full Kellan details on Parent’s Examiner. Kim promises a part II tomorrow.
