Breaking Dawn Part 2 Storyboard Hints

We admit that we are probably one of the last ones to find this story, but we wanted to make sure everyone sees it just in case you haven’t been checking all the other great Twilight sites over the Easter weekend.  It seems that Twilight vef France and Breaking Dawn Forever stumbled upon a few Breaking Dawn Pt 2 Easter eggs of their own while watching the DVD for Breaking Dawn Pt 1.

The Storyboard shows two key scenes from Breaking Dawn Pt 2.  First is the hunting scene where we can see Bella being distracted by the scent of a nearby human.  As Amanda Bell points out, it’s a rock climber and not a fisherman as it is in the book.  But it’s the second scene in the storyboards that is sure to have fans cheering!  One of the finniest scenes in the Twilight saga is the arm wrestling scene, and from the looks of these images it will be included in the film.

There are also a few shots of the Breaking Dawn Part 2 script where cryptic words like “back tears” and “Phil” and “his hand” can be seen in image 1 as well as “Bella hugs her” and “I love you” and “separate, massive, and Charlie” in image 2 are clear but the majority of the words are blurred.  If you manage to decipher the text, let us know!  And leave us a comment – does this make you more excited for BD2?

Chris Weitz to Publish YA Trilogy

Chris Weitz..cgThe director of New Moon has signed with Stephenie Meyer’s publishing house, Little,Brown, to publish a post-apocalyptic YA trilogy in 2014.  According to MTVs Hollywood Crush:

According to the announcement from publisher Little, Brown, the literary trilogy-to-be will kick off with “The Young World”: a story about the teenage sole survivors who inherit a destroyed and desolate earth, after a cataclysmic event kills off every person on earth not between the ages of 12 and 21. Ill-equipped to restore society to working order, the surviving residents of New York City must try to rebuild their world from the ground up—a tough charge for any decimated population, but especially difficult if you’re trying to save your species from annihilation while simultaneously going through puberty. Drama will abound!

Let us know in the comments if you think the book sounds good and what your opinion is on Weitz taking a stab at YA.

What Hot Topic Learned About Movie Merchandise From Twilight

We’ve all known Hot Topic as one of the carriers of Twilight merchandise. We’ve all also noticed how the quantity of that merchandise changed movie to movie. Here’s what Hot Topic thinks they learned. Interestingly, there’s no thought given to tee shirt design and Hot Topic’s incredibly small size range/cuts of shits, an item that has frequently been discussed here.

According to CFO:

It also comes as no surprise that companies like Hot Topic, a pop-culture-oriented apparel and accessory retailer, are tying their profits to the hit film. Hot Topic, a $697 million company that targets older teens, has a long-running relationship with popular franchises like Harry Potter and Twilight. But budgeting and planning for the movie releases has not always been easy.

“We’ve had some big blockbusters in the past that kind of caused our business to go boom and bust,” says Hot Topic CFO Jim McGinty. “Boom when they came out, and then bust either immediately after” or at the end of the year, when the stores held an abundance of excess inventory that no one wanted to buy.

Case in point: Twilight, the film based on a teen novel about a girl who falls in love with a handsome vampire. After the first Twilight movie was released, the demand for Bella- and Edward-related merchandise shot through the roof — and the company was on a sales high, McGinty says. When the next Twilight film, New Moon, came out, Hot Topic bought more merchandise than it could sell. “We made a big commitment,” he says. “The idea was more about making sure we didn’t miss a sale.”

Ultimately, this strategy backfired. “In buying that much merchandise, we probably didn’t miss a sale, but we certainly gave up margin dollars because of the markdowns on the back end,” says McGinty. Because the stores were so heavily stocked, they would sometimes sell only about 40% of their film-related inventory by the time a popular movie was released.

Peter Facinelli Talks His First Job

The Wall Street Journal is doing a feature on various celebrities’ first working experience.

Growing up in Queens, New York, in the 1980s, Peter Facinelli was anxious to get around. Too young to ride the subways alone, Facinelli’s dominant means of transportation became his bicycle. Which is why it came as no surprise that Facinelli entered the working world in an occupation that relied heavily on his wheels — newspaper boy.

“I wasn’t very good. I’m really lazy and I hated getting up in the mornings so my mom would get up, and bless her heart, she would fold the newspapers and put the rubber bands on them and then she would put all the papers in my milk carton basket that was strapped onto my bike. I would, half-sleepily like in a zombie state, deliver these newspapers,” said Facinelli, who will reprise his role as the vampiric Dr. Carlisle Cullen in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.”

See more on the Wall Street Journal.

We can say from experience that Peter’s work ethic has improved. He is one of the most energetic and always prepared and professional actors on the Official Twilight Tour.

Marlene Barnes Interview: What Drew Her to Twilight

The Pattinson Post has an interview up with Marlane Barnes who plays Maggie in Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Were you familiar with the Twilight series before you got the part? How was it for you, as an actor, to come into the last movie of the Twilight series?

I actually was not! I’m always the last person to know about things in pop culture. But, before I auditioned, I read synopses on fan sites and watched the first two movies to get to know the world. When I was actually cast, I was floored. I mean, it’s such a huge franchise and the fan base is so involved that I did worry at first that I wouldn’t be what everyone was hoping for! But, then you just have to trust the production team and yourself and do your best.

What was it like working with the director, Bill Condon on Breaking Dawn?

Bill is a very sweet, intelligent, and considerate man. He was great to work with, because I really felt like he was invested in everyone’s experience and input on the film. He created a collaborative environment on set, which was great considering how many of us were new to the franchise. I also loved the direction that he took Part One, so I am very excited to see Part Two!
