Here’s a rough video of Rob, Kristen, and Taylor at the Teen Choice Awards.
Twilight Saga Wins Ultimate Choice Award
The Teen Choice Awards readily admits that Twilight has changed the game when it comes to Movies and Fandoms. This year they gave the Twilight Saga the Ultimate Choice Award as well as many others. As of tonight the saga has won 41 TCA. Tonight it took home Choice Movie: Romance and Choice Movie Actress: Romance. Additionally Kristen won for Choice Summer Movie Star for Snow White and Taylor won for Choice Movie Actor: Action for Abduction.
The most touching part of the acceptance speech was when Rob and Kristen gave their awards to audience members, openly admitting that this fandom has driven the franchise to the status that it has earned.
An Interview with Rob Pattinson’s Heart
Black Book has released a very interesting interview from the perspective of Rob Pattinson’s heart. The heart tells the story of Rob as a bad driver, a former smoker, and a movie icon. It is a fun read, but please be warned that the language is a little rough in places. Here is a sample – keep in mind that this is Rob’s heart talking, and not Rob:
After Twilight hit, things changed. Rob, as they say, broke. “My circle of friends narrowed pretty quickly.” Says Rob, “I like to be the parasite, not the other way around.” We stopped going out. We stopped performing at open mics. Now I hardly ever race anymore. Now, when he’s not being Edward or Eric [From Cosmopolis] or someone else, Rob lives like the Hermit of Silver Lake. He wakes up and makes himself some juice. He reads synopses of books on Amazon for a few hours. He makes himself soup and peruses some scripts. Largely these are just words, congealed and bland like day-old porridge, microwaved rehashes of other supernatural epics. Ocasionally, I spike when something he reads intrigues me. Like his next drama by the French-Liberian director Jean-Stephane Sauvaire, whose last film, Johnny Mad Dog, is about Congolese child soldiers. This one will be filmed entirely in Iraq. We leave next month. Perhaps there, the bullets whistling by, or at least the possibility that a bullet could whistle by, will cause me to throb. Until then, we’ll bide our time in the back of a car, idling at an intersection and waiting for the light to change. Jeff asks if we’d like to go anywhere in particular, but we’re not sure. “I never go anywhere.” Rob says matter-of-factly, “I don’t even know where anywhere is.”

New Face Friday: Casey LeBow
The Lexicon, and so many of your favorite Twilight Fansites, has been invited to participate in New Faces Friday. Every Friday from now until the end of October, a new actor/actress and character will be spotlighted along with a new interview conducted by the various fansites.
To start us off we have Casey LeBow, who plays Kate from the Denali coven. Visit Kate’s character bio here at the Lexicon for details on her character. And to read the full interview with Casey, visit BellaAndEdward.com.
Q: Can you tell us about your audition process for the role of Kate?
A: I believe it was five [auditions], if I remember correctly, it was four or five. Initially, they didn’t tell us which part was for, it was for a “Russian sister.” We weren’t given the exact specifications and we were given these fake scenes that were sort of relevant to the story but weren’t actually from the script. They were sort of this rewrite to make it ambiguous so we wouldn’t know who it was, because if you didn’t get the part they didn’t want you walking away with any plot details. I went back in several different times, they wanted me to do different things like straighten my hair because they thought it looked too much like somebody else, then they gave me some new material. There were a lot of people who had to make the decision and everyone had to come in line. It was my part they had some trouble with because according to Maggie [Grace] and MyAnna [Buring] they just sent tapes in and several weeks later found out they got the role. I didn’t have as easy of a time getting the job.
Q: At what point did you first meet Lee Pace and what was it like working with him?
A: I absolutely adore that man, he is just a delight! You have to get really close to a person when they’re playing your lover, and we just got along right away. I met him on set the first day and the first scene we shot together we had already progressed quickly through the love story so we had to pull it all together right away.
Passion Pit to Feature on Breaking Dawn Part 2 Soundtrack
Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos gives a frank interview to Pitchfork about being bi-polar, his music, and influences. In the course of the four-hour discussion this tidbit was dropped in the interview.
His music will be featured as part of the soundtrack to the final installment of the Twilight film series later this year. (He’s hoping to convince Kristen Stewart to star in a future Passion Pit video, too.) Angelakos turned 25 in May, and he’s been so busy that, in the week leading up to it, he forgot what day his birthday was.

How The Host Stills Play Out In The Movie
We were able to see the advance footage of The Host at Comic Con. Now that we did, we have some information on where the released stills fit in in the context. It’s not every still, but we have pretty solid information on several of them. Diane Kruger is seen in this white suit which is apparently the official Seeker dress code. It’s very visually stunning and oddly threatening against all the other normal colors in the film. In the books she is short and brunette; however I can tell you that the tall Diane Kruger looming over Wanderer and in another sequence chasing down Melanie in the abandoned building is very visually threatening. I don’t know that a short brunette would have had the same visual effect. You can also see a tiny bit of silver car in the shot. The Seekers all drive these bright silver (almost like mirrors) cars. In one of the clips you saw the Seekers (at least 6) show up at Melanie’s house which was on a Louisiana bayou. Melanie and Jamie hid under the house which juts out into the water. Their father commits suicide via handgun rather than be taken alive. In a later clip the Seekers chase down a truck of renegades. The occupants of the truck also commit suicide by crashing the truck into a wall rather than being taken.
The next two shots are interconnected and happen within a minute of each other.
The Seeker asks Wanderer to probe Melanie’s memory to discover where the renegades are. After a moment of resistance she gives up Jamie’s name and Melanie’s inner voice screams at her in defiance. Then she sees this entire montage of Melanie’s past life from happy days with her dog, to swimming with Jamie, to hooking up with Jared(of note she doesn’t mention Jared’s name). The above stills are part of the Jared flashback. They are in front of an RV in the middle of nowhere and Melanie and Jared are swing dancing while Jamie holds the boom box(first photo). In fact the dance sequence is almost identical to the Breaking Dawn wedding where Jackson flips Ashley upside down. It then starts to rain and they all go to rush inside. Jamie goes in first but Jared stops Melanie at the door and he gives her a passionate kiss as she is backed up against the trailer. The second photo is immediately post kiss.
This next shot wasn’t in the clips, but Jake Abel is wearing the exact clothing that he was in the clip that was shown. Kyle, Ian and another guys go to the cell where Wanderer is being kept and Jared stands guard. Kyle and the other guy double-team Jared (who gets in a hell of a good sucker punch to Kyle to start things off BTW) while Kyle yells for Ian to “kill it”. Ian starts to strangle Wanderer. Wanderer just submits as Melanie’s voice is screaming for her to fight back. In the clip you can see that the emotion of trying to murder someone who isn’t resisting is deeply affecting Ian and he starts to let up. Uncle Jeb firing off a rifle finally breaks up the scene. So I’m taking a guess that it’s him mulling over the fact that he just tried to kill someone.
Video: Toni Trucks Can’t Wait For Breaking Dawn Part 2
Access Hollywood caught up with Toni Trucks who plays Mary at the Ruby Sparks premiere. You can also catch Toni this fall in Made in Jersey. Laura met Toni recently in LA and she is wonderfully down-to-earth and excited about the franchise. She’s also totally right about Twilight fans being interested in actors’ other projects!
Tinsel Korey Joins DoSomething.org Campaign
Tinsel Korey is joining this year’s DoSomething Campaign. Previous Twilight connected participants have included Chaske Spencer and Nikki Reed.
DoSomething.org, the nation’s largest organization for teens and social change, has partnered with Lenovo, the world’s second largest PC maker who helped found the campaign last year, and Bing, the search engine from Microsoft, to launch “The Hunt: 11 Days of Doing.” The campaign inspires young people to partake in 11 days of challenges, starting July 10, focused on creating positive community impact.
According to the 2012 National Survey on Young People and Volunteering, 93% of teens in the US say they want to volunteer. Yet, only 22% of them actively do. What’s the #1 reason why they don’t volunteer? No one asked them to. Well now DoSomething.org is! With the help of campaign spokesperson, 90210’s Shenae Grimes, teens will receive a new series of challenges focused on a specific cause daily. Challenges will be issued to participants via www.dosomething.org/hunt and DoSomething.org’s favorite social change weapon: cell phones. Teams will work together to complete all the challenges and report back to show how they created a measurable impact in their community, all while collecting points to win prizes like Lenovo IdeaPad Ultrabooks and scholarships.
“I am excited to be a part of such a cool campaign with DoSomething.org, Lenovo and Bing,” said Shenae Grimes. “If we can motivate young people to do such amazing things in 11 days, think of what else we can do!”
“DoSomething.org, Lenovo and Bing are all about giving teens the resources to take action on what they care about,” said campaign manager, Sydney Cohn. “This is a great opportunity for teens to do fun stuff with their friends during those dog days of summer.”
“We discovered in our first partnership with DoSomething.org that we both share a passion to help people engage in the world, roll up their sleeves and make things happen,” said David Roman, chief marketing officer, Lenovo. “We love making the personal technology tools that help people achieve things, while DoSomething.org brings together a community of some of the most active and inspiring young people in the world. Together, we are eager to engage thousands of young people this summer.”
“DoSomething.org does an amazing job promoting activism among young adults, and we’re excited to join forces for this year’s Hunt as part of the Bing Summer of Doing,” said Karin Muskopf, senior product manager, Bing. “Bing’s new social features will play an integral role in helping participants search for the clues, connect with their Facebook friends for advice and see what experts recommend in order to quickly research and tackle the daily challenges.”
Challenges will focus on important issues such as Environment (Energy), Recycling/Reuse, Poverty& Homelessness, Saving, Violence and Bullying, Health & Fitness, Discrimination, Disaster Response & Relief, Education, and Animal Welfare.
DoSomething.org, Lenovo and Bing will work alongside celebrities such as Hillary Duff, Cody Simpson, Rachael Leigh Cook, Keke Palmer, Teresa Palmer, Cassie Scerbo and Tinsel Korey along with volunteers throughout the summer.
