The Twitters supposedly run by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed are all fakes. Ways to tell: mislabeling of photos stating where & when the pics were taken, Tweeting while clearly performing , all created around the same date, claiming they are posting personal photos when in reality are actually recycled paparazzi shots, official sites of actors don’t list a Twitter, etc.

Hurricane Bells

Katie from Live.Love.Twilight. did an interview with New Moon Soundtrack artists, Hurricane Bells, and she’s let us reprint the interview.
Hurricane Bells at Pete's Candy Store. I love this venue, I l... on Twitpic

Tell us a little about your background in music. How old were you when you stared? Where does the name “Hurricane Bells” come from? What are some of your major influences?

I  have been the singer and guitar player in a band called Longwave for years. Longwave has put out 4 records, two for RCA. I have also played guitar on tour with Albert Hammond Jr and Teddy Thompson. I started playing guitar when I was 10, and Longwave is the first band where I ever sang.

I made a record by myself and wanted to call it “tonight is the ghost”. Then I decided I needed a name for the “band”.

Hurricane Bells were heavy stone bells that used to be hung high in trees, by the sea. The only way the bells would sound would be if a very dangerous storm was coming. I thought that was an evocative image and decided to call the thing that.

Can you describe your music/sound?

The Hurricane Bells stuff is kinda stormy, late night kinda music, or rainy day. There is a bunch of echo and reverb on things. Longwave is a pretty guitar heavy band, and I wanted to make something a bit more mellow, that I could put on at night. [Read more…]

Eclipse Shooting: Celebrity Sites Call it Unique

The article in Canada’s Globe and Mail talks about how traditional media sites have never seen anything quite like the Twilight Saga fury and how they get their info. (Photo credit ML Splash News)

“The Twilight films are based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels of the same name about the vampire Edward (Pattinson) and Bella (Stewart), the human teen who falls for him. The novels were bestsellers before they hit the big screen, but the films have turned the Twilight industry into an even larger phenomenon – fuelling a staggering interest in the stars.

“Any and every photo – it doesn’t matter how bad it is, it doesn’t matter how little you can see of the people, the fans want to see everything and they will look at every single photo all day long,” says Goodson.

To say the photos are good for driving traffic to the websites is an understatement.”

Twilight Lexicon Interview: Gil Birmingham

Jen, Be My Escape, had the opportunity to interview Gil Birmingham about his music. Aside from being a talented actor, Gil is a musician as well. Many people who have gone to various conventions, like Eye-Con this weekend in Florida, have gotten to hear Gil perform.

Q: What are the inspirations for your lyrics and music?

My music comes from the emotional place I’m in when I write it.  It’s an outpouring of the soul of those emotions through the guitar.

What genre does your music generally fit into?

My music is classic rock and blues for the most part.

What is the most challenging work as far as creating a song?

Writing the music, the lyrics, getting it produced?  Writing music is not really challenging because it comes from a place of inspiration.  It’s about connecting with what I’m feeling at the time. When you see me play, you understand that the music comes from my heart.  Recording music is more difficult because you have to get a clean cut down without letting the technical aspects of recording get in the way of the creative process. Bella and Edward Go To Harvard…Sort Of

Harvard University’s humor and satire magazine has a spoof of Twilight coming out entitled Nightlight. The Harvard Lampoon has been around nearly 300 years and was initially modeled on the British humor magazine Punch. They have done a parody of anything and everything. According to the description on Amazon.com:

About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edwart was most likely my soul mate, maybe. Second, there was a vampire part of him–which I assumed was wildly out of his control–that wanted me dead. And third, I unconditionally, irrevocably, impenetrably, heterogeneously, gynecologically, and disreputably wished he had kissed me.

And thus Belle Goose falls in love with the mysterious and sparkly Edwart Mullen in the Harvard Lampoon’s hilarious send-up of Twilight.

Pale and klutzy, Belle arrives in Switchblade, Oregon looking for adventure, or at least an undead classmate. She soon discovers Edwart, a super-hot computer nerd with zero interest in girls. After witnessing a number of strange events–Edwart leaves his tater tots untouched at lunch! Edwart saves her from a flying snowball!–Belle has a dramatic revelation: Edwart is a vampire. But how can she convince Edwart to bite her and transform her into his eternal bride, especially when he seems to find girls so repulsive?

Complete with romance, danger, insufficient parental guardianship, creepy stalker-like behavior, and a vampire prom, Nightlight is the uproarious tale of a vampire-obsessed girl, looking for love in all the wrong places.”

Probably the most famous spoof of the Harvard Lampoon was their 1969 spoof of Tolkein called Bored of the Rings.  Many writers of the magazine end up  on the sitcom writing staffs in Hollywood. Among their alums is Conan O’Brien.

Cam Gigandet Interview on Cinema Blend

Cam Gigandet has a new movie opening this weekend, and he sat down with Cinema Blend to talk about it.

I imagine since being part of Twilight you’ve been able to make a lot more choices in terms of the roles you take.
Yeah, that’s opened up so many doors, and I’m so grateful for what that movie’s done. It was really kind of a special little slice of life that brought me where I am today. Thankfully I got to do other things.

Do you feel somewhat grateful that you were there for the first one only? Robert Pattinson’s life is never going to be the same. You don’t have to be chased down the street by screaming girls or anything.
Yeah, exactly. We talked about this before we even started the movie, and that was one of the big selling points. Me, myself, I wasn’t interested in doing that for the rest of my life. It was kind of the perfect balance for that movie.

Catch the rest on Cinema Blend, and catch Cam’s new movie this weekend.
