Nikki Reed at Sage and the Dills Show

Nikki Reed took the stage at the Sage and the Dills show in LA last night. Nikki has been a long-time supporter of her friend Sage’s music career. When the group came up to Vancouver to play a couple of gigs, Nikki was there to lend her support bringing Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner with her.

According to Radaronline:

“Sage, the lead singer of the band, is best buds with the actress, who arrived in a purple beanie and dark jeans. And just because she’s in the movies doesn’t mean she gets any special treatment from her friends. The band put her to work loading equipment onto the stage and setting up the drums.”

Justin Guarini In Consideration

Justin Guarini spoke to MTV to let them know that he is actually a fan of the Twilight Saga books, and that his bid to get on the soundtrack is not just the flavor of the month to him. He’s waiting to hear back on whether or not his song is being accepted.

“Although Guarini’s “New Moon” fate is still up in the air, he did say that the folks at the Chop Shop, the film’s music supervisors, have told him they’ve given the song a listen and will let him know if he makes the cut as soon as the decision is made. Guarini said that’s more than enough recognition for now. “I’m just happy they are considering it,” said the TV Guide Channel host, who’s currently working on his third full-length album. “It would be an honor to be on the soundtrack.”

Twilight Widower on Gift Buying

We first introduced you to the Twilight Widower last week. He details the antics of his Twilight obsessed wife in a good-natured way. He’s an especially good sport because they live in the Vancouver area and his wife keeps dragging him downtown to buy milk and bread.

Before Twilight, I would have to subtly draw hints from her for weeks to determine what sort of gift she wanted for special occasions and then would get it wrong anyway, despite all my careful detective work. (She told me she wanted a food processor; how was I supposed to know it wasn’t a good Valentine’s Day gift?) But now that she has given herself over to Edward Cullen, knowing what she wants is ridiculously easy.”

Anyway, in his most recent entry, he mentions the bright side to being a Twilight Widower: gift buying is easier. There are also other…er…fringe benefits as you read down(work safe, but a strong PG-13). We don’t think we’ll be looking at boats quite the same way for awhile. Check it out. TY to Twi-Crack for the heads up.

Michael Sheen Says Goodbye to Vancouver

Once he was safely in Vancouver airport, Michael Sheen Tweeted away his farewell to the city, and snapped a photo of one of the interesting pieces of art in the airport.

To London! And dont spare the horses!”

and

“And so i bid a fond farewell to Vancouver. Its been epic, lush, choc and sound as a pound. Van – you are the Man. See you soon.”

Jamie Campbell Bower has been Tweeting too, but to be honest we’re not really sure who he’s quoting.

Electronic Piracy Threatens Publishers and Authors

The New York Times examines various author and publisher sentiments on the double-edged sword of electronic books.  Now that they are in this format, it’s a never-ending battle to keep them off of file sharing sites.

“It’s exponentially up,” said David Young, chief executive of Hachette Book Group, whose Little, Brown division publishes the “Twilight” series by Stephenie Meyer, a favorite among digital pirates. “Our legal department is spending an ever-increasing time policing sites where copyrighted material is being presented.”

Everyone from Stephen King, to Ursula K. Le Guin, to Harlan Ellison chimes in about a problem that Russell Davis describes as, “…a game of Whac-a-Mole. You knock one down and five more spring up.”

Despite the piracy, the Twilight Saga is still bringing in big bucks for parent company Hachette.

According to reports they all ended up doing karaoke in the hotel bar! (Oh to have been a fly on that wall!)

Nikki Reed is Italy Bound

First Kellan Lutz announced that he is going to Italy with plans to sleep on Robert Pattinson’s hotel room floor. Now Nikki Reed has disclosed to MTV that she is headed to sunny Italy too. After half the winter and all spring in cold and damp Vancouver, can you blame them?

Here’s what Nikki had to say to MTV:

“Put it this way: I am not in any of the scenes in Italy, but we’ve already made sure that I am going to Italy while they shoot that, because I am sort of obsessed with that portion of the book…”

So Italian fans, on last count, the only Cullens not showing up in Italy are Jackson Rathbone (who is busy filming in Philly), Peter Facinelli, and Liz Reaser.
