Bruno Mars on Breaking Dawn Soundtrack?

Unlike rumors of earlier this week claiming Robert Pattinson had an album coming out this one may actually prove to be true because the source is far more reliable. Radio Station 93.2 WFLZ is reporting that Bruno Mars may in fact be on the Breaking Dawn soundtrack.

It’s still unconfirmed, but if true what do you think are you a Bruno Mars fan?

Twilight Soundtrack DVD Goes Gold

According to Home Media Magazine:

“Nowadays Steve Nickerson, Summit Entertainment’s president of home entertainment, isn’t surprised by how well anything Twilight does at retail.

So when the Recording Industry Association of America, or RIAA, announced this month that the combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of Music Videos and Performances from The Twilight Saga Soundtracks Vol. 1 had reached RIAA-certified gold status Nickerson was more pleased than surprised.

“It’s a little bit of a unique project we developed with Atlantic [Records], and we’re happy with the consumer reaction to it,” he said. “Each of the three individual soundtracks did more than well, and while any of the videos may be available through the individual artists, to put them all together in a product was a unique opportunity.”

Justin Guarini In Consideration

Justin Guarini spoke to MTV to let them know that he is actually a fan of the Twilight Saga books, and that his bid to get on the soundtrack is not just the flavor of the month to him. He’s waiting to hear back on whether or not his song is being accepted.

“Although Guarini’s “New Moon” fate is still up in the air, he did say that the folks at the Chop Shop, the film’s music supervisors, have told him they’ve given the song a listen and will let him know if he makes the cut as soon as the decision is made. Guarini said that’s more than enough recognition for now. “I’m just happy they are considering it,” said the TV Guide Channel host, who’s currently working on his third full-length album. “It would be an honor to be on the soundtrack.”

Paramore Talks Twilight & More On EW

EW talked with Paramore lead singer, Hayley Williams about how the group got on the soundtrack, the new demographics for teh band’s music, and their future plans.

EW: Oh, really? I thought from what I’ve read that [Twilight author] Stephanie Meyer sought you guys out and wanted you specifically to be on the soundtrack. But it’s more like you auditioned?
HW: Well I read the books, and when they were working on the soundtrack, I was finishing up the third book, Eclipse, and I was really into it. I thought this was a great art, a really good story, and really relatable, but I’m always into vampires and all that. So we were touring and writing and jamming out new things every day, and I was like, if they’re putting that soundtrack together this could be great, let’s figure out if we could be a part of it. So yeah, we kinda fought for it. And if you look at the rest of the album, it’s Muse and Iron and Wine and Linkin Park, which really isn’t our demographic.”

Kelly Clarkson On New Moon Soundtrack?

So, we’ve been scoping this one out all day. Early this morning DJ Elvis Duran claimed that a leaked version of a song called “Did You?” by Kelly Clarkson was slated to be on the New Moon soundtrack.  Various audio files of the rough-cut of the unreleased track are going around the Internet.

We thought it was a little early for final decisions on soundtrack artists to be made especially since folks like fellow AI alum Justin Guarini were just making their pitches public. Now it looks like Mark Malkin over at E! ran down the rumor.

“However, a rep for movie studio Summit Entertainment is singing a different tune…There are no plans to use the song, according to the rep…A source tells me that director Chris Weitz has made no decisions regarding the music for the movie.”
