Taylor Lautner Looks to Tom Cruise for Inspiration

According to the LA Times24 Frames Blog:
“In 2011, Lautner will appear in his first major lead role with “Abduction,” a film that, though a commercial thriller, gave the 18-year-old a chance to work with an auteur director, John Singleton of “Boyz N the Hood” fame.
Lautner already had admired Cruise, and Singleton coached him on how to follow in the A-lister’s path (professionally). “I told him to watch the transition from ‘Top Gun’ to ‘Rain Man’ to ‘Born on the Fourth of July,’ ” Singleton told 24 Frames of his sessions with Lautner. “To think about what he did as a young man and what he did later on. And then think about what you want to do.”
Hollywood is rife with fresh faces who never become anything more. That’s the far more common route, in fact. Can Lautner take the other path?
” ‘Twilight’ is a great stepping stone for his career. It’s like, ‘Wow, he’s an icon already,’ ” Singleton said. “But now that you have this stature, it’s a question of what you do with it. And that’s what he’s been working hard on.”
Twilight Fan To Be on The Biggest Loser

Twilight Saga Awards potential is as follows with shout outs to cast and crew members other projects:
- Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner up against each other as Best Movie Actor with tough competition from Johnny Depp and others!
- Kristen Stewart for Best Movie Actress with tough competition from Angelina Jolie
- Eclipse is nominated as Favorite Movie Drama which it should easily win given the other choices
- Valentine’s Day that had Taylor Lautner in the cast is up for Favorite Movie Comedy
- Eclipse is nominated for Favorite on Screen Team, strongest competition from Iron Man 2
- Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are up for Favorite Movie Star Under 25. Harry Potter’s Emma Watson and High School Musical’s Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are nominated as well. Rob will likely pull this one out
- Nightmare on Elm Stree that had Kellan Lutz in the cast is nominated for Favorite Horror Movie
- The Good Wife the currently had Elizabeth Reaser as a cast member is up for Best TV Drama
- Favorite TV Talk Show Host, not a direct connection, but George Lopez (who did the best Eclipse Coverage) is nominated and we wanted to give him a shout out!
- Dexter which is co-written by Melissa Rosenberg was nominated as Favorite TV Obsession

Gil Birmingham to Star in Rango With Johnny Depp

“When Gore Verbinski was directing his upcoming movie, “Rango,” a spaghetti western-like tale set in a desert town overrun by bandits, he did what he typically does: have his principal actors, led by Johnny Depp and fellow cast members that include Harry Dean Stanton, Abigail Breslin and Ray Winstone, act out key scenes.
The actors wore western costumes — Depp sported a giant cowboy hat and bandana and Winstone packed a sidearm. They had the usual array of props, including whiskey glasses and sawhorses, on a stage at Universal that also featured a saloon with a 40-foot-long wooden bar and the requisite swinging doors and even a chuckwagon. This wasn’t a run-through for another one of Verbinski’s big-budget live- action movies. It was all done as part of a 20-day shoot to capture the voice tracks for his first animated film, “Rango,” about a chameleon — played by Depp — with an identity crisis.
In animated movies, actors usually voice the lines of their characters in a recording booth. But Verbinski figured he’d draw out more lively dialogue if the actors physically performed their scenes onstage — just like on a live action set. “It was just like rehearsing a high school play,” said Verbinski, best known for directing the first three “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies. “Why give up on what we do in live action?”

Ashley Greene Meets Joe Jonas’ New Puppy

Ashley Greene is a dog lover. Her dog Marlow has traveled everywhere with her for the last two years. Her boyfriend, Joe Jonas, apparently shares in the dog love. He just got a blue-eyed English bull dog at Thanksgiving and the breeder just put the video online.

At lastttttt . . . On April 12th, Stephenie Meyer’s Official Guide will hit stores. It’s been a long time coming, and fans have been very eager to see what Meyer has cooked up to explain any missing pieces in the Saga. If Bree Tanner was any indication of what was in store with the Guide, it should be a very interesting addition to the collection. The same will be true if Volume 2 of the Twilight Graphic Novel hits stores this year.
Interview, Interview, Interview phase
There are going to be so many television, red carpet, magazine, and online interviews with the cast, crew, and filmmakers over 2011 that Twilight fans’ collective heads will be spinning by November. During the thick of it, there comes a point – at least for Twilight site admins – where you have to decide which of the many, many clips and snippets get the most attention. It’s when there’s content overload like this that it becomes clear just how significant this series is at the moment.”
