Kellan Lutz Embraces His Twilight Groupies

In an interview with GQ, Kellan Lutz talks about his Twilight fans.

What’s a Kellan Lutz groupie like?
Well, originally in the first few years they were quite hysterical and would scream and yell and call me me Emmett. Throughout the years though, you make friends with them. Now I have friends throughout the world who I see from time to time at different events, conventions and outings; every time I do a talk show in New York, a lot of them come out from wherever they are in the world. You know them by name and you have a chat with them and really build a relationship. I probably have more friends from Twilight than I’ve ever had in my whole life.

Do you get many strange gifts from fans?
I do. I even get gifts for my dogs. This group of Twi-moms that I know from Philadelphia, they send me and my roommates and even my dogs stockings with presents. The dogs’ stockings have all these chew toys and even letters that we’ll read to the dogs from them.

Behind the Scenes Video of Austenland

Stephenie Meyer’s Production Company shot Austenland in the UK last summer. Author Shannon Hale just blogged about a behind the scenes video peek.

I don’t have any Austenland: The Movie news, but here’s a short video that shows the set and interviews with Bret McKenzie, JJ Feild (who, I just read, is expecting a baby with girlfriend Neve Campbell!), Ricky Whittle, and Georgia King. I don’t even know who did this video. Also, Stephenie Meyer put an update about the movie on her website. I think I tweeted both these things but never blogged them.

Is 2012 the Year The Twilight Trio’s Careers Take Off?

Many many Twilight actors have expressed that the series has helped their careers. Actors like Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz have multiple TV shows and movies and a fashion line. Others now get audition offers where they didn’t before. What about the big three: Rob, Kristen, and Taylor? Will 2012 be the year they go big in other films?

On the heels of the Cosmopolis trailer being released, he Twilight Examiner gives us the rundown:

Robert Pattinson (“Edward Cullen”), Kristen Stewart (“Bella Swan”), and Taylor Lautner (“Jacob Black”) are already very, very successful. Thanks to the Twilight Saga and some of their former work, these three have amassed billions at the box office, and the franchise is not done just yet.

Still, for the past couple of years, many in Hollywood have wondered whether these three can carry at least some of their Twilight success into their other films. Each of these has released independent projects post-Twilight, but they still haven’t quite answered the call of these doubters yet, or so some say.

This year might be the year they do it.

2012 Bella and Edward Hallmark Ornament Preview Close-Up

One of our Lexicon readers told us about a month ago about the Breaking Dawn ornament being offered in the Hallmark 2012 collection. Now she has some close-ups.

She says:

It’s hard to tell in the picture but there is a lot of detail for such a small ornament (4″ high). You can clearly see all the buttons on the back of Bella’s dress and on the sleeves. I was very happy and impressed by this. I can’t wait to see the ornament in person.

Check out her blog Twilighters Dream for more details.

Reaction to the Tease to the Breaking Dawn 2 Teaser

MTV asked Laura and others around teh fandom for their reaction to yesterday’s brief glimpse into the teaser (or as we’re calling it: The Tease to the Teaser…AKA, “Please Sir, can I have some more!”)

Here’s what Laura said to MTV:

Twilight Lexicon’s Laura Byrne-Cristiano also appreciated the very short seconds of tease but, like most of us, was left wanting more.

“Ten seconds wasn’t really enough to capture anything. We did see Bella running through the trees, but we couldn’t see her face in that brief snippet,” she said. “So, we got only a little of the Bella with vampire powers that I was hoping for. It was nice to see a reaction of Jacob and Edward to Bella, but I really would have been more satisfied if Bella herself (in particular her facial expressions) was more in the shot. I’m hoping we actually get to see her and not just her point of view in the full teaser.”
