Bella’s Bracelet and Engagement Ring Giveaway

We are big fans of the original version of Bella’s Bracelet (tm)  that is made by Infinite Jewelry. Back when the novel Eclipse first came out  the company worked with Stephenie to create a wolf on the charm bracelet that was exactly what Stephenie had in mind.  (Even though the book has the wolf as wooden, the bracelet wolf is copper for durability. However it was created with Stephenie Meyer.)There were even limited editions of the jewelry signed by Stephenie Meyer.

They later created, along with Stephenie, Bella’s Engagement Ring ™ to fit what Stephenie had in mind in the book Eclipse.  We especially love this version because, in our opinion, it’s far daintier than the movie version. It doesn’t overpower your finger to the knuckle. There were also  limited editions of the ring signed by Stephenie Meyer. The ring was most recently featured on the Oprah Winfrey show. After the taping of the Oprah show that featured Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson, the audience was given a certificate that could be redeemed for a fashion version of Bella’s Engagement Ring ™ from Infinite Jewelry.

So for today’s Wednesday giveaway, we are giving away a fashion version of Bella’s Engagement Ring ™ and a Bella’s Bracelet ™.  The winner gets to pick the yellow gold look or white gold look of the fashion version of the ring and receives the bracelet as well.  Whatever size the winner wants within the standard sizing ranges will be sent, and, as usual, we send our giveaways any place in the world. The last time we gave away jewelry we sent it to Greece!

Check out the ring and the bracelet in the video below. Also check out the other products over at Infinite Jewelry. Several items are currently on sale.

Just tell us in the comments what is your favorite Team Edward, Team Jacob, or Team Switzerland moment from the books and we’ll pick a random winner on Friday, August 6th at 11:59pm est.

Dakota Fanning: Stand Up to Cancer

Dakota Fanning and other stars of young Hollywood are participating in a Stand Up to Cancer PSA and TV awareness program. Dakota narrates that PSA and participates in a vignette.

According to the Stand Up to Cancer press release:

“Change the Odds” puts cancer into perspective as a disease everyone must stand up to.

Through eight vignettes, the odds of several scenarios that are quite low, like becoming an astronaut (1 in 13,200,000) or getting trapped in an elevator (1 in 24,528), are contrasted with those of being diagnosed with cancer. In the United States, one in two men and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes.

“It is important for young people to be aware of the scope of the problem and the odds that they may face, both for their own future and for their loved ones,” said Ziskin, co-founder and executive producer of the Stand Up To Cancer telecast. “This piece is about how it is never too soon to take a stand against these devastating and epidemic diseases. Theirs may be the generation that gets us to the finish line. We are so grateful to all the young stars and to Marc Webb and Rich Lee for joining our cause so brilliantly.”

The PSA sends viewers to standup2cancer.org/changetheodds, where compelling content from featured talent and important facts about cancer will educate young people about ways they can reduce their cancer risks, including wearing sunscreen, quitting smoking and adding anti-cancer foods to their diets.

“We want to communicate that each and every one of us can play a part in changing the odds of getting cancer in our lifetimes, especially the younger generation,” said Webb. “Seeing these young stars get involved makes me so proud to be a part of the Stand Up To Cancer movement.”

“7PM CT. The one-hour fundraising event will be simulcast live and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, HBO, Discovery Health, E!, MLB Network, The Style Network, VH1, HBO Latino, Showtime, TV One, G4 and hosted by network news anchors Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams.

The primary goal of SU2C is to raise funds for groundbreaking translational research to accelerate the delivery of new therapies to patients, getting them from the “bench to the bedside” as quickly as possible. SU2C brings together scientists from different disciplines across various institutions to work collaboratively, rather than competitively, at a critical time in the field of cancer research.

As in the landmark 2008 broadcast, this year’s SU2C telecast will feature live performances by legendary recording artists and stars from film, television and sports, presenting content that provides viewers with insights into cancer.

The star-studded SU2C television special builds continuing public support and donations for cutting-edge cancer research that translates at a rapid pace from the laboratory to treatments and technologies benefitting patients. One hundred percent of all donations received from the public will go directly to cancer research.

The 2008 telecast was viewed in more than 170 countries and helped raise over $100 million. More than $83 million has since been committed to five multi-disciplinary “Dream Teams” of researchers from more than 50 institutions, as well as to 13 young innovative scientists who are undertaking high-risk yet potentially high-reward projects to end the reign of cancer as a leading cause of death in the world today.

Booboo Stewart Prank Master

On Friday during the Official Twilight Convention in Toronto, I caught the last 30 seconds of a trick that Booboo Stewart and his dad, Nils, pulled on Julia Jones. I was going over the media for the Lexicon presentation or I would have captured it via IPhone video.

Anyway, what happened was that Booboo and his dad snuck a cardboard cutout of a shirtless Booboo on stage behind Julia as she was giving her Q&A. The audience started laughing. Julia didn’t know what was going on and then she looked behind her and let out a minor shriek.  Then Julia started talking to the cut-out asking it questions and giving purposefully bad ventriloquist answers.

Well Booboo and his dad’s reaction during the whole thing backstage was hilarious. They were like two 12-year-old boys who had put a whoopie cushion on their teacher’s chair.  They were giddy, seriously. You had to see it. So I said, “I can’t believe I missed that! I would have taped the whole thing from a backstage perspective.”  Well, that’s when they let me know that they had more planned. Check out the video below on prank number 2 by the Stewart family and accomplices.

Hit Fix: Why Such a Gap Between Breaking Dawn 1 & 2 Explained

breaking_dawncoverAs usual Hit Fix provides some spot on analysis:

“After releasing both “Twilight” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” in November of 2008 and 2009, Summit made the seemingly smart move of moving “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” to a June 30, 2010 release date.  This was because of both fervent interest from the franchise’s fanbase and the expectation that opening in the summer would allow for a larger gross due to the fact many teenagers would be out of school and able to see the film numerous times during the work week.  Instead, “Eclipse” has grossed less than the previous chapter, “New Moon,” with only $288.1 million domestic and a total of $644.8 million worldwide so far.  “New Moon” ended up with $296 million domestic and $709 million worldwide and it’s hard to see “Eclipse” matching that total as its grosses have slowed considerably.  Considering “Eclipse” received universally better reviews than the previous two chapters and was the most action packed (i.e., male friendly) of the series this has to be something of a disappointment for Summit.  Granted, there is no need to shed any tears as the studio and series creator Stephenie Meyer are still swimming in profits as the picture only cost $65 million.”

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Date Revealed

Summit LogoThis just in from Summit Entertainment:

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 – 11/16/12
Director: Bill Condon
Cast: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner
The astonishing conclusion to the series, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, PART 2, illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

So what does this all mean to your Twilight lives?

The movies will film a la Lord of the Rings style concurrently from late October/early November 2010 until April/May 2011 in both Louisiana and Vancouver.

The footage of each film (and educated guess on our part) will appear at Comic Con 2011 and 2012

The movies will powerhouse the MTV Movie Awards, and the Kids Choice Awards.

Technological advances are occurring in CGI and other special effects. especially the second part of Breaking Dawn can benefit from these advances. Spreading out gives more opportunity for these advances many of which are post production advances.  Does this mean 3-D, or better Benjamin Button type tech?  Unknown.

By doing Thanksgiving releases the movies avoid the 2012 summer crunch with the following movies that are bound to suck up movie dollars and be blockbusters: Batman 3, The Avengers, Battleship, Star Trek 2, G.I. Joe 2, Spider-Man and Superman. Eclipse has benefited tremendously from a summer of movies that were supposed to be huge like Robin Hood and Airbender and in the end didn’t live up to hype or expectation.  Repeat box office dollars went to Eclipse rather than other films.  Eclipse has thrown the gauntlet and claimed the Thanksgiving spots(spots that worked well for the first two movies). MTV discovered the same roughly a month ago when they had a discussion with a Summit executive.

Part 1 to debut: 11/18/11

Part 2 to debut: 11/16/12

USA Today: Why Louisiana Is the New Hot Filming Spot

Lots of fans were baffled when Louisiana was announced as a filming location for Breaking Dawn. We even openly scoffed at the idea on Twitter. USA Today gives a bit of an explanation:

“The boom is most visible around New Orleans. In 2009, 22 movies and TV shows filmed there. Records have already been broken in 2010; by July, 24 projects had shot there.

“We’re way ahead of the curve in the New Orleans region,” says Katie Gunnell, interim director of the city’s Office of Film and Television. “The city has seen an incredible bump in applications for 2011 as well.”

Across the state, work is consistent and year-round, despite hurricane season and blazing summer temperatures. “We’ve maintained 20 to 25 productions at any given time during the year,” Stelly says. “We’ve doubled for New York City, Los Angeles, the Northwest, basically Anytown, USA.”

Those who have shot there point to several factors contributing to the region’s appeal: diversity of scenery, financial incentives and proficient crews.

“You can get an 1800s look, you can get a Parisian look,” says Todd Lewis, producer of The Chaperone. “You can get suburbs, you can get the country. It’s got a little bit of everything.”

Kristen Stewart In The Daily Mail

kristen elleukKristen Stewart talked to the UK’s Daily Mail to promote The Runaways, which just came out on DVD. She talks about her Twilight experience and media perception. The way the reporter describes Kristen’s reaction is the one that we have always personally had with her, that she trips over her words because she is so wrapped up in really wanting to say what she means the right way, not that she is arrogant or doesn’t care.

“It was tough because I only had a really tiny window of free time, but I wanted to make the movie. And I didn’t want to get any older because I’m already older than Joan was when she was in the Runaways,” says Stewart. “I just crammed it in, and hoped that it would work. And it did. It’s nice to switch to movies like this between Twilights, but I’m excited to go and do the next couple of years of Bella’s life.”

She arrives for our interview looking elegantly sophisticated in a black mini-dress with her dark hair pulled up behind her head in a bun. Yet she confesses: “When I dress up, I have to have a lot of help. I was in a T-shirt until a few minutes ago.”

Like the teenage Joan Jett, Stewart has a sullen, almost surly look, which proves to be misleading, because she willingly attempts to answer questions, thinking carefully before she speaks but sometimes finding herself unable to articulate her thoughts.

“It’s impossible to always get across what I’m trying to say, but, if I just stay honest, then I’m not going to look back on any of these interviews and wonder what I was trying to do or be,” she says.”
