Stephenie Meyer Reveals New Moon Soundtrack Info

According to Stephenie Meyer’s Website:

“I just received the following announcement from Atlantic Records (the record label that produced the Twilight Soundtrack):

The first single has officially been confirmed for the New Moon Soundtrack! Death Cab for Cutie has written an exclusive song for the movie entitled ‘Meet Me On the Equinox.’ Below is a statement from the band about the song:

“We are very excited to be a part of this amazing series of novels set in our own backyard. It just seemed a perfect synergy that a band from the Northwest would create a song for a series of novels set in the Northwest. We wrote ‘Meet Me On the Equinox’ to reflect the celestial themes and motifs that run throughout the Twilight series and we wanted to capture that desperate feeling of endings and beginnings that so strongly affect the main characters. This song marks the first attempt that Death Cab for Cutie has ever made at contributing new, unreleased material for a film and we are proud to be a part of the Twilight legacy.” — Nick Harmer / Death Cab for Cutie

Additionally, we have the exclusive premiere of the soundtrack album! The soundtrack will be in stores on October 20th, 2009, stay tuned for more information!”

Billboard also has a follow up on rumored artists.

According to Summit Entertainment’s press release:

“After months of speculation, Atlantic and Chop Shop Records have announced that the first single from the upcoming New Moon Soundtrack will be Death Cab for Cutie’s ‘Meet Me On the Equinox’. Fans will be able to hear the song, which was written exclusively for the soundtrack, in its entirety for the first time September 13th on MTV.COM during the MTV VMAs.”

So Death Cab for Cutie…what do you think?

Volturi Revealed: Meet Marcus

MARCUS
Full Name: Marcus
Status: Vampire
Group: Volturi Coven
Date of Birth: Around 1300 BC
Date of Transformation: Unknown

Special Abilities: He sees the strength of the relationships between people  “You already know what you’ll do, Aro.”

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
Marcus is the most detached of the Volturi leaders. The loss of his mate has essentially turned him into a zombie over the centuries. He is surprised by the intensity of Bella and Edward’s relationship.

VOLTURI
1) The Volturi include: Aro, Caius, and Marcus as the leaders, and then Jane, Alec, Demetri, Felix, Heidi, and several other unnamed members of the guard.
2) The Volturi are similar to a ruling body, and protect the secret of vampires by wiping out any “problems” as vampire law defines.
3) The Volturi live in an ancient Tuscan city called “Volterra”.
4) Aro and Jane’s powers do not work on Bella.

Director Chris Weitz on the Volturi —
“No matter how strange one of the characters is in a work of fantasy, I think you have to approach them as people and then so you start to think, ‘They’ve been around for 2,000 years. How would they interact with one another?’  The conclusion was that after 2,000 years you’d probably be more than mildly insane. No matter how cultured or gracious you appear on the surface. And I think that’s what Michael Sheen managed to portray as Aro, the head of the Volturi — on the surface he’s terribly gracious, warm, a wonderful host and at the same time he’s lethal and frightening.  It’s also what Dakota Fanning conveys as Jane. She’s innocent looking in appearance but she’s absolutely deadly.  The first thing I wanted to do was put them in a setting that wasn’t Dracula’s castle.  There have been so many vampire movies and werewolf movies and horror movies where everything has been dark and dreary. Instead, their headquarters is surprisingly light and crisp. And the characters that they play have a kind of a tactile reality to them in spite of how bizarre their situation is really. The whole point is not to leave Forks, Washington where everything has really been quite realistic and then suddenly go to a location that completely throws you out of the movie.  And the set although it’s huge and grand and magnificent actually feels like a real place.”

Meet the other Volturi: Jane (on MySpace), Aro (Yahoo), Caius (AOL Moviefone), and Alec (MTV)

Actor  Christopher Heyerdahl plays Marcus.

Robert Pattinson on Cover of French Magazine, Première

TY to Twilight France who alerted us to Robert Pattinson’s latest cover shot in the upcoming issue of Première.

According to one of the magazine’s staffers, Jeanmarc Morandini, this is what we can expect. “The next issue of the magazine ” PREMIERE” , which hits newsstands next Wednesday, will please the fans of Robert Pattinson and TWILIGHT! In brief, there will be an exclusive interview with Pattinson Robert and a report on New Moon…the second movie episode of the saga was filmed partly within the medieval city of Montepulciano in Italy.  This interview gave  occasion for Pattinson Robert, while maintaining his sense of humor,  to take stock of his  sudden notoriety…and his projects after TWILIGHT. In particular, discover six pages of exclusive reports and new images…”

Robert Pattinson’s Stunt Double Runs Free

Robert Pattinson frequently gives credit to his stunt double,  Paul Darnell, for making him look good in action sequences. Aside from being a stuntman,  Paul Darnell has his own projects going. One of these is called Tempest Free Running.

Free Running (also known as Parkour) is a new sport that is slowly gaining momentum throughout the world. Check out Paul and his friends as they display their amazing skills. Also check out Paul’s own YouTube channel. We can only imagine what Paul will be asked to do in the Eclipse battle sequences. TY to James for the heads up.

Fansite Friday Teaser!

This week’s Fansite Friday will feature none other than Taylor Lautner.  Taylor spent some quality time talking with the fansites on the set visit and you are going to love what we have for you.

So until then we have a little retro Taylor interview from our Twilight set visit in April 2008. For you trivia people, the day we were on the Twilight set was the day Catherine Hardwicke later described as “the day from hell, the day that made grown men cry.” The weather ranged from terrible to truly miserable, but we stuck it out along with the cast. Despite the weather, Taylor ( as you can see in the video) was in a great mood.

Twilight Advisor: A site dedicated to Twilight Events

The Twilight Advisor is a new site and its goal is simple:

Here at Twilight Advisor we want to welcome everybody! Our goal is to gather reviews from fans to help collect unbiased opinions on the many Twilight events happening everywhere.

The site features an Events page, where you can see all the upcoming Twilight related events with links to the event’s website for more details. A review section that allows you to read and write reviews about events in the Twilight world.

Essentially it is a one stop information center for all things Twilight Event related.  Stop in and give a review of an event you have recently attended or read about events so you can choose the best one to attend.

Anna Kendrick & Kiowa Gordon Go Horror

Anna Kendrick has had an interesting acting career that ranges from being the second youngest person ever to be Tony nominated to Twilight to upcoming projects. One that includes George Clooney.  However, you guessed it. Anna has also done the “horror thing”.

Anna was in the little known TV show, Fear Itself. It was a show that aired on NBC if you’re not familiar with it,  but FEARnet got exclusively 5 episodes that were never aired. FEARnet will exclusively be airing the episodes online for free for viewers on September 2nd.

Kiowa Gordon, who plays Embry, is going to be filming a horror movie in May called Into the Darkness.

The movie’s official MySpace page describes it as, “A group of friends descend upon a remote wilderness area to camp and party reuniting after a year apart. Their decision to embark on a short exploration of an unknown cave system turns into a horrific struggle for survival. Can they find the light before the darkness finds them?”

The film should hit the big screen in March 2011. You can get further details on The Examiner.
