Fearnet Features Alex Meraz

Fearnet has a new interveiw with wolfpack bad boy Alex Meraz.

You stand out among the Wolf Pack because of your scene with Bella – the slap heard ‘round the world, so to speak. Tell me how that scene went down.

Alex Meraz: It was exciting. Even just in the casting of it, I just really liked Paul. What happened with the casting process is, we sent in our information and through that they were going to break it down. I sent it in and started reading New Moon while I was waiting and I really liked Paul because of that scene, and I really like bad boys and he’s kind of the bad boy of the Wolf Pack……  Read the rest HERE

Jen Amato Interviews Michael Sheen

Jen Amato of Rotten Tomatoes now has a regular guest article over on FearNet. This week she has an interview with Michael Sheen where they cover just how Michael got on Twitter and then got addicted to it.

A week after being announced as New Moon‘s Aro, you joined Twitter, and your first post read, “Someone is pretending to be me. The f***er will rue the day…” Can you explain what that was all about?

The only reason I went on Twitter was because there was someone pretending to be me who sounded like such an idiot, so it was reflecting badly on me. My auntie, who was already on Twitter, let me know there was this person doing this, so I had to go on and say, “This is me.”

When it comes to celebrities, there are so many fake accounts that it’s hard to tell who’s real and who’s not…

I spent a couple of weeks trying to convince people that I was the real me, and it became sort of a “Twit-off” with this pretender. It was Neil Gaiman who eventually made the big difference when he announced that I was the “official” me. I always intended to end it then and not do it anymore, but I just got hooked on it.

It’s incredibly addictive, isn’t it?

It kind of is, and I also find it really useful and entertaining. To share things, to let people send me things that I’m interested in… if I’ve watched or read something that I really enjoy I’ll share it with people there. And also, if I have anything I need to find out about, I’ve got this resource of about 50,000 incredibly well-informed and interesting people to ask the question to.”

Anna Kendrick & Kiowa Gordon Go Horror

Anna Kendrick has had an interesting acting career that ranges from being the second youngest person ever to be Tony nominated to Twilight to upcoming projects. One that includes George Clooney.  However, you guessed it. Anna has also done the “horror thing”.

Anna was in the little known TV show, Fear Itself. It was a show that aired on NBC if you’re not familiar with it,  but FEARnet got exclusively 5 episodes that were never aired. FEARnet will exclusively be airing the episodes online for free for viewers on September 2nd.

Kiowa Gordon, who plays Embry, is going to be filming a horror movie in May called Into the Darkness.

The movie’s official MySpace page describes it as, “A group of friends descend upon a remote wilderness area to camp and party reuniting after a year apart. Their decision to embark on a short exploration of an unknown cave system turns into a horrific struggle for survival. Can they find the light before the darkness finds them?”

The film should hit the big screen in March 2011. You can get further details on The Examiner.

FearNet Best Fan Videos

FearNet asked fansites for their favorite fanmade videos. We sent in several and they decided to feature one of our picks (they couldn’t do all three because they only had so much room) but we’d like to mention all three.

First up is the Hillywood Show. We had a chance to meet the Hillywood team this weekend and we can tell you all that they are super nice in person. They graciously posed with fans all weekend long. We picked Hillywood’s video as Best Twilight Movie Tribute

Next up we picked this video as best fan trailer for New Moon, and wanted to recognize them even though they didn’t make the FearNet cut:

Last was this one that we picked as best spoof:

David Slade: FearNet Interview Take 2

As many of you observed in our comments the David Slade interview sounded a little off on FearNet. Some of the quotes didn’t really make sense. Well there’s a perfectly logical explanation, apparently somewhere along the line David got misquoted, and FearNet has revised the article(we bolded some differences but there are others), notably:

“What will differ about Slade’s Twilight? “I don’t really know.  We haven’t even started shooting yet.”  While the director says he has a basic idea of what he wants to do with it, he is more concerned with telling a good story than being “different.”  “It is darker, and there is a lot more action than the previous two,” he admits.  “The third book is from Bella’s point of view, but the film will be more objective.”  And just how will he do that?  “We are going to focus on the origin stories of several characters, like Jasper, and show how Bella will decide between Edward and Jacob.”

David didn’t read the books until the studio was interested in bringing him in – then he did his homework.  “It was tough for a middle-aged man to get into,” he admits, “from the point of view of a 17 year old girl. But once I got past that, I found them to be really good stories.”  He is especially excited about the great script from Dexter writer/producer Melissa Rosenberg.  Right now, they are still in preproduction, with plans to start shooting later in the year.”

FearNet Interviews David Slade

FearNet caught up with David Slade at the Dark Delicacies signing the other night and here is what he had to say in regards to Eclipse:

“…“I don’t really know. “We are going to focus on the origin stories of several characters, like Jacob, and show how Bella will decide between Edward and Jacob.”

FearNet Sponsors Comic Con Contest

Comic Con is sold out. There is not a ticket to be had. However, Fearnet is sponsoring a contest. Here’s what it includes:

” It’s your chance to win a paid vacation to San Diego, for one of the coolest events of the year. We’ll pick up your flight. Your hotel. Your transportation. Heck, we’ll even pay for a friend to come along. And best of all, we’re including two four day passes to Comic-Con 2009, where you’ll get to see the most anticipated movies, shows, games and comics before anyone else.”

What If Everyone Was a Vampire?

Fearnet wonders what life would be like if everyone in Hollywood went vamp. Check out their tongue-in-cheek look at who makes the cut already.

Paris Hilton
She has porcelain skin, never gains weight and only comes out at night. Plus, she sucks the lifeblood out of everyone around her.  Has anyone actually checked to see if Paris has a pulse?”

10 New Moon Scenes That Shouldn’t Be Cut

FearNet has a rundown of the 10 most important scenes to New Moon fans.

“We don’t want to miss one minute of the undead goodness. But if we were forced to make a choice about which 10 scenes make it – say someone was holding a stake to our heart- these are the scenes we absolutely, positively think should be included in the film.”

So do their choices match yours?
