Eclipse Soundtrack to be Revealed on MySpace

Artists Announced Throughout the Day on May 12th

MySpace Musicexclusively reveals the highly anticipated soundtrack listing for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Q & A For Bree Tanner Audiobook

This just in from the folks at Random House who are producing the Short Second Life of Bree Tanner audiobook:

” I wanted to let you know that we are in fact producing an audiobook version of THE SHORT SECOND LIFE OF BREE TANNER, to go on sale June 5 along with the book, and of course we’re very excited!

Emma Galvin is narrating, she’s a young Broadway actress (currently starring in Our Town) and she did an incredible job. We’re actually going to be shooting some video with her here at our offices next week, and would like to offer your readers a chance to submit their questions for Emma to us via Twitter! Twilight Sales Finally Reach Inevitable Slow Down

According to Lagarder, the parent comply of Hachette & Little Brown, Twilight sales have finally reached a plateau of sorts. According to an article in The Book Seller:

“Lagardère Pubishing saw a 6.5% decline in revenues for the first quarter of 2010, with sales down from €30m to €433m for the period to end-March 2010 after what it described as “the expected erosion in Stephenie Meyer sales”.

Hachette UK said its sales had been “strong” in the first quarter of 2010, with underlying sales across HUK up on 2009 and “considerably ahead of expectation”. This was despite continuing international economic uncertainty, and a fall of 6% in the overall UK market. Hachette UK added that “inevitably, sales of Stephenie Meyer’s backlist have steadied after their phenomenal performance in 2010”.

Business Week is also reporting on the trend.

“Lagardere last year benefitted from the success of Meyer’s vampire-themed “Twilight” novels, published by its Hachette Book Group unit. In 2010 guidance issued in March, the company said its publishing division would see a “return to normal” after brisk sales of “Twilight” books and related products.

Last month, the company fought off a challenge from American activist shareholder Guy Wyser-Pratte, who sought a board seat to force a “strategic review” and changes to a corporate structure that gives Arnaud Lagardere extra powers.”

You can see a bit of the trend on this week’s New York Times Bestseller Lists. The Twilight Graphic novel is in second position in its category(graphic books). The Twilight Saga books are in forth in their category (Children’s series: note there is no YA distinction) behind the House of Night series, Percy Jackson, and Diary of a Whimpy Kid. It should also be noted that The Host paperback edition is in fifth place in its category. So while not gone from the lists, the books do not have their previous stranglehold on the top spots in all categories.

What will really be interesting to watch is how well the Bree Tanner novella performs when it goes on sale June 5th. It will mark the first time any new Twilight specific information has come out in almost two years. How many people will opt for a hardcover version vs. how many people will want the PDF free version.

Eclipse Pre-Sale Tickets This Week!

According to Summit, “This Friday, May 14, you can pick up your tickets to THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE on Fandango and MovieTickets.com! Official run time is 2 hours and 4 minutes.”

If you remember, when New Moon tickets went up for pre-sale they set a new record on Fandango and other online ticket brokers:

“According to Fandango, who notes that their numbers are increasing every second, several thousand New Moon showtimes have sold out, making it the most the company has ever sold prior to a film’s release date. (And, yes, that means the film has even topped The Dark Knight, and movies from both the Harry Potter and Star Wars franchises.) AMC and MovieTickets.com report the same information. Both the movie chain and the online ticket buying service have said the film has broken records set by Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. (New Moon even nabbed the No. 1 spot on MovieTickets.com’s list of top 10 advance ticket sellers of all time, breaking a nearly five-year-old record set by Star Wars: Episode III—Revenge of the Sith. The service is also reporting over 2,150 sellouts for the film, with over 200 in Los Angeles and New York.)” Source EW

Kellan and Ashley Still To Sign on the Dotted Line

According to a report in the industry trade paper, The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene have not yet signed on for Breaking Dawn. THR goes on to state that other actors with similar sized roles such as Billy Burke and Peter Facinelli have already signed on.

“The studio is close to finalizing agreements with leads Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, all of whom will get big raises to return for a fifth installment of the vampire romance saga…But Summit is having a harder time locking in some of the franchise’s secondary characters. Deals for Peter Facinelli (who plays Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Bella’s father, Charlie Swan) are done, but we’re told the actors who play the Cullen kids (especially Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene) are trying to sink their teeth into bigger paydays that, at least at this point, the studio behind the billion-dollar franchise is unwilling to provide. “We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point,” says a source close to the dealmaking.”

The Hollywood Reporter is generally accepted as a credible industry source, second only to Variety. So this is interesting information to take in. Check out the whole article, there’s a lot to absorb in there. What do you think?

Hollywood Crush has the exclusive photos on some of the new Eclipse merchandise from Nordstrom. they plan a slow reveal this week.

“The “Newborns” burnout v-neck tee ($30) makes a statement on the front, which might give away your secret Stephenie Meyer obsession to the world, but a real woman shouldn’t be afraid to strut what she loves in public. In the MTV News office, I personally loved wearing the tee with my black suit jacket. A quick change into my leather jacket a 6 p.m., and I was ready to meet for drinks after a long day.”
