100 Monkeys Play in Baton Rouge

The band was at a local Baton Rouge music store where they played to an intimate crowd. See more footage on YouTube The Monkeys are also slated to play other gigs in the Louisiana driving area. Check their website for details.

The cast, which at this point is limited to the Cullens and Taylor Launter, have been spotted in various Baton Rouge locations enjoying the parks, restaurants, health clubs, etc. Eventually Julia Jones and Booboo Stewart are expected in Baton Rogue. Most of the other cast will probably be in Vancouver only.

The Louisiana location is being used for mostly interior shots and Vancouver will be for outdoors.

As of last word they were still looking into filming segments in Brazil, but no exact location or timetable has been established.

Eclipse Closes Its Box Office Run at $300,531,751 Domestic

eclipsebill

According to Box Office Mojo, Eclipse has finally ended its run in theaters with a total of $300,531,751 in the domestic market. International sales still continue, and there are some countries where it has not even opened yet!

Eclipse was the first women-driven film to hit the elusive 300K mark since Titanic back in 1997. It’s a mark that very few films ever hit, let alone a film that is predominantly driven by female dollars.

The $300,531,751 will easily put Eclipse into the top 10 films of the year, and in all likelihood it will stay in the top five.  right now it is in fourth position behind Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, and Iron Man 2. The only film that opens between now and the end of the year that is likely to overtake the Eclipse tally is the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The summer release was an interesting experiment since the other films opened at Thanksgiving time.  Eclipse certainly benefited by a summer of lackluster films that had lots of PR, but in the end didn’t live up to the hype. In short it lucked out by not having lots of competing films. Rather than see a movie that got panned, people went back and saw Eclipse again. Granted, folks tended to see it more than once anyway, but the movie choices or lack thereof this summer certainly helped.

To summarize the previous films box office totals:

Twilight: number 7 film of the year in 2008    $192,769,854

New Moon: number 4 film of the year in 2009 $296,623,634

One day release of back-to-back Twilight and New Moon: number 131 of the year $2,385,237

Robert Pattinson’s Buried Life Episode Airs Tonight

The TV Squad gives a pretty good rundown of what the MTV show, The Buried Life, is all about:

“Fresh-faced, optimistic, and totally earnest, the four twentysomethings who created and star on MTV’s ‘The Buried Life’ have a lot of things going for them: Hunky, all-American good looks (although they’re actually Canadian). More than half a million “friends” on Facebook. And a successful show on MTV which relies entirely on their personalities, on-camera chemistry, and real-deal authenticity.

Now in its second season, the show’s premise is deceptively simple: The stars — Dave Lingwood, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn, and his brother, Jonnie Penn — ask each other (and thus, their viewers) ‘what do you want to do before you die’?

Each episode follows them on a cross-country quest to cross one of the items off their list that answers the question, from capturing a fugitive to getting married in Las Vegas to, in this week’s edition (Monday, October 25 at 10:30 pm/ET), stealing a lock of Robert Pattinson‘s hair.”

Upcoming Take 180 Twilight Spoof Features Shay Carl

Last week news broke about Rob and Kristen possibly shooting a Volvo commercial in Louisiana. In the end it turned out to be the folks of Take 180 doing their most recent Twilight spoof. The mystery was solved when YouTube sensation Shay Carl (the one that Kaleb Nation routinely mentions in his tweets) released the below video that more or less explained the filming that was originally assumed to be of Rob and Kristen

Take 180 has done Twilight spoofs before, some better than others. Our favorite is the New Moon spoof seen below. In particular it’s Laura’s (Pel’s) favorite spoof ever.
