Movieweb: Nine Minute Interview With Jackson Rathbone

According to Movieweb:

“Aim High is the story of a young man leading a double life – juggling his studies by day and serving as a government agent by night. This series chronicles the life of Nick Green (Jackson Rathbone), a sophomore who’s just starting a new school year as one of the country’s sixty-four highly trained teenage operatives. When he’s not handling international spies, Nick is dreaming of Amanda Meyers, the most popular girl in school who’s cool, intelligent and very alluring. Amanda mercilessly flirts with Nick, but before he can enjoy her advances he has to avoid Derek, her overly protective boyfriend who threatens him for even looking at her. To make things more complicated, Nick just blew a hit on a Russian mercenary and now he’s out to take revenge on Nick. On top of that Nick also discovers he has an “in” with Amanda but his best friend is planning to post a salacious rumor about her on his blog. All in all, it’s going to be a rough semester.”

So what do you think about this new concept?

Kellan Lutz Unexpectedly Pops Up in Iowa

This is one of the cuter fan encounters we’ve seen in awhile. No one can simultaneously be prouder of you and be potentially more embarrassing than your grandma.  Via the Ogden Reporter:

“When Joellen Nissen… left for work last Thursday morning, little did she know she would be meeting a movie star while checking at the Ogden Casey’s General Store.
“I often chit chat with the customers here at the counter,” said Nissen, and when I asked this older couple what brought them to Ogden, I was told they had picked up their grandson at the airport. He was visiting for a few days at their home in Pocahontas.” The grandmother couldn’t hold back and burst with, “He’s a movie star!” She pointed down the aisle. Kellan Lutz, co-star of the popular Twilight Saga movie series “Eclipse” walked to the counter and was introduced.

Nissen described him as very polite, nice and sort of quiet.” She omitted the word “sexy” which many would used to describe the 25-year-old actor who was recently featured in People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive Issue.” Proud grandma went to her car and returned with a copy of the magazine, exercising her “grandparental” right to brag.”

MSNBC Names Forks as a Top Vacation Spot for Book Lovers

MSNBC named Forks as a top place for book lovers to visit. They also named locations that coincide with the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Eat Pray Love, and the Girl With a Dragon Tattoo series.

“Ever since Bella fell for Edward — and readers fell for the vampire-themed series by Stephenie Meyer  — visitors in the tens of thousands have flocked to Forks, Wash. A good starting point for “Twilight” tourists is the Forks Chamber of Commerce. Visitors can get maps, brochures and other information about “Twilight” destinations, including Forks City Police Department, where Bella’s father works; Forks Outfitters, where Bella works; and Forks High School, where Bella first meets Edward. At the chamber, visitors can also have their photo taken with Bella’s truck and see a lighted gazebo like the one Bella and Edward danced in at the prom. “We love being the center of the ‘Twilight world,’ ” said the chamber’s director, Marcia Bingham. “We have a well-trained staff that speaks fluent ‘Twilight.’ ” Two tourism companies, Dazzled by Twilight and Team Forks, also offer guided tours of Twilight-related sights in the region.”

Cher is Edward Cullen in Disguise?

Newsweek just reviewed Burlesque. Essentially their review boils down to that in their opinion the movie is so bad, it’s unintentionally a great comedy. So, they then came up with a list of what you might call their top six bad-good parts. The Twilight connection hit on number 4.

4. Twilight. The message of Burlesque is that Cher, like Edward Cullen, is a nocturnal creature who will never, ever die, so we might as well give up and let her bite us. During her big musical sequence, You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me, she even shimmers in the same way as a Stephenie Meyer vampire. Credit the glittery lips, eyelids, tank top, shoes, and belt. Notice: no wrinkles.

See more on Newsweek.

The movie also co-stars Cam Gigandet, who played James in the first Twilight movie. He seems to have escaped a scathing review…at least from Newsweek.
