Meet Renesmee! EW Official Cover
EW has released the cover of the June 22 issue which features Breaking Dawn Part 2. It offers our first full look at Renesmee, played by Mackenzie Foy. There are actually 2 covers to chose from. One with just Edward, Bella, and Nessie, and another with Jacob added as well.
“It’s a hugely important part,” says director Bill Condon, who loved watching Foy and her older costars interact. “They were amazing with her,” he says. “It really brought something paternal out in Rob, and Kristen was especially protective. I’d have to interrupt them when they were in deep conversation to get going with a scene.”
Leave us a comment and tell us what you think of her look!

To the Complete Surprise of No One Breaking Dawn Will Be At Comic Con :)
Variety is reporting what we have all long surmised.
Sony and the merged Lionsgate-Summit, meanwhile, are understood to be planning a presence inside the San Diego Convention Center’s biggest space…Summit’s “Twilight” franchise has never missed the show – which has had fans camping out annually to secure a seat in the same room with their beloved thesps – and they’re expected back for the Comic-Con finale. Lionsgate will bring “The Expendables 2” to the Con, where Sylvester Stallone charmed the finicky masses two years ago.
What we don’t have a clear picture on yet is what are the other events in Hall H with Breaking Dawn. Last year was terrific because Breaking Dawn part 1 was the first panel of the day and the items that followed were more of the cult following type of thing, rather than a studio blockbuster. Camping out wasn’t so much requited as it was fun. Back with New Moon it was a challenge because New Moon was the middle panel on a day that also featured Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and Avatar where camping was 100% necessary!
It is likely but not officially confirmed that Breaking dawn will be there on Thursday as it has done every other year. The one thing we do know is that Warner Brothers is doing their highly anticipated The Hobbit on Saturday so there should be no conflict there.
Breaking Dawn EW Costumes Up Close
A little over a year ago Laura attended a one of the Official Twilight Conventions run by Creation Entertainment (I think it was San Fransisco but I’m not 100% sure.) They had just put up on display a bunch of costumes that had arrived fresh from the set of Breaking Dawn. At the time, we didn’t know if they were from part 1 or part 2. All we knew was that they were definitely used on set because the clothes (especially the shoes) had dirt all over them. So in other words they weren’t just photo-shoot or standby costumes in case something ripped, they had actually seen use and wear and tear. Well based on what Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are wearing in the EW photo that is teasing tomorrow’s cover shot, they are the same clothes! Here they are up close, and you can clearly see the dirt on Rob’s shoes in the photos:
They also had clothes worn by Jacob that are not in the current EW photo.

Bill Condon Doing Side Show post Twilight
If you are a Broadway aficionado you have heard of the musical Side Show that everyone was talking about in theatre circles back in 1997, but alas it didn’t get the audience it hoped for at the time largely do to a marketing campaign that didn’t quite know what to do with itself and The Lion King and the Caberet revival coming out in the same year and sweeping every award known to mankind.
In any case it’s a fabulous show that’s been embraced by regional theatre ever since and now it’s being brought back to the La Jolla Playhouse and The Kennedy center by Bill Condon.
According to NPR
Side Show may not have made bank, but it made two stars: Alice Ripley (who’d go on to Tony glory in Next to Normal) and Emily Skinner (The Full Monty). And it made history: For their extraordinary performances, Ripley and Skinner became the first actors ever jointly nominated for a leading-player Tony.
So the news that a first-class revival is coming down the pipeline will have the show’s cultists — and they are a vocal lot — in tailspins. It’s apparently been substantially overhauled in workshops; the director attached is Oscar-winner Bill Condon, who’s known better for his movies (including a couple of the Twilight films, though he’s done much classier fare as well). Alas, we’ll have to wait a bit to see the result; it’ll open at the La Jolla Playhouse in California in the fall of 2013, and won’t come to the Kennedy Center until June 2014.

Myra McEntire’s Timepiece Out Today
For those of you who have attended our Nashville movie events over the years, you’ve probably met Myra McEntire at the New Moon and Eclipse events scurrying around behind the scenes to make sure the whole thing happened without a hitch. Myra was doing thankless things like stuffing 500 giveaway bags and distributing raffle tickets. In fact, she ran the Eclipse event practically single-handedly because our main staff was in Utah at another event. As many of you may know, Myra’s debut novel, Hourglass, can out last year to critical acclaim. MTV picked it as one of their top 2011 beach readsand the book was optioned by Fox for a movie. Well now the next book in the series called Timepiece is out today! Here is the official description:
Kaleb Ballard was never supposed to be able to see ripples–cracks in time. Are his powers expanding, or is something very wrong? Before he can find out, Jonathan Landers, the man who tried to murder his father, reappears. Why is he back, and what, or whom, does he want? In the wake of Landers’s return, the Hourglass organization is given an ultimatum by a mysterious man. Either they find Landers and the research he has stolen on people who might carry the time gene, or time will be altered–with devastating results for the people Kaleb loves most. Now Kaleb, Emerson, Michael, and the other Hourglass recruits have no choice but to use their extraordinary powers to find Landers. But where do they even start? And when? Even if they succeed, just finding him may not be enough … The follow-up to Hourglass, Timepiece blends the paranormal, science fiction, mystery, and suspense genres into a nonstop thrill ride where every second counts.

Twilight Inspired Characters Hitting Skyrim
One of our readers, Joshua, wrote in to tell us the following.
I’ve been delving deep into the world of Skyrim on PC, and I found this little mod. As part of one of the Thieves Guild quests you have to go to a place called the “Twilight Sepulcher”. This particular modder added three
“Followers” and aptly named them Jacob Black, Bella Swan, and Edward Cullen. It’s still a work in progress and I sent some feedback, as the character models don’t look anything like their Twilight counterparts. He made Bella Swan a Dark Elf for crying out loud! I did advise the modder that Jacob should just be a regular wolf follower, double sized, colored burnt red, and that he should make both Edward and Bella Bhretons, and give them fancy attire.
No matter it is still really funny having a character named Jacob, Edward, or Bella following you. They pack a mighty punch too. Here are a few in game picks I took, as proof.
Who knows what they will think of next, especially with Dawnguard (the new DLC) exclusively featuring a race of vampires trying to take over the world. Bethesda, also advised that there will be some special upgrades for all the werewolf lovers out there, since werewolves and vampires still don’t get a long.

Novel Novice Founder Now an Author
Those of you who have visited the Lexicon for awhile might remember how the website Novel Novice started. Tiffany Truitt, the site’s founder, was a new teacher in a school district where the students had been labeled as difficult and behind in academics. She started a Twilight blog and had her students contribute to it in the hopes of encouraging them to read and write, and to share their thoughts and experiences with others. We caught wind of what the site had to offer (to be completely honest, we don’t remember how we discovered the site) and posted about it in our news round-up on May 23, 2008. It resulted in their site going from relative obscurity to getting practically 10,000 hits overnight. Eventually Novel Novice was so popular it got it’s own URL, added more staff (today under the leadership of Sara), and today they don’t just cover Twilight, but a wide range of YA Novels. Over the years the site has done any number of fantastic things from encouraging voter registration of young people, reading and literacy awareness campaigns, fabulous Twilight desktop wallpapers, etc.
Reflecting back on the experience, Tiffani wrote in to tell us, “I started a blog with my students called Twilight Novel Novice. I worked at a low-income school, and used the novels to encourage my struggling readers to delve into books. We did all sorts of things to get them interested: comics, commercials, soundtracks…all using Twilight. Your website was gracious enough to feature us. I can’t tell you how excited the kids were when I walked in and pulled up your website on the projector. Seriously one of the best moments I ever had teaching.”
There are a million Twilight sites out there. We get tons of requests asking us to feature a particular site. If we did, we’d probably close down for all other business. So, why did we feature Novel Novice that day? it was a site that was different, it hooked kids (boys and girls) on reading and discussing their ideas. At the time we had roughly three teachers on the admin staff and we loved the innovation, and how engaging kids who others had written off, in the world of YA lit opened them up to reading Twilight and then reading other things.
So today, Tiffani Truitt is a published YA author. Her debut novel, Chosen Ones is out today on Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
So on behalf of the entire staff of the Twilight Lexicon, congrats to Tiffani!
