Michael Sheen Vamps It Up

The LA Times pinned down Michael Sheen and asked him about Aro and New Moon vs. his other roles.

“I think a good story’s a good story and a good character’s a good character,” Sheen said. “There are things that I’ve done . . . especially, ‘The Queen’ and ‘Frost/Nixon,’ they just happen to be in the world of politics. The thing that draws me to them is they’re compelling stories. . . It doesn’t matter to me if they’re in the world of politics or in the ‘Twilight’ world of vampires.”

Sheen said he was first introduced to that world of “Twilight” through his daughter, a devoted reader of Meyer’s bestselling series. A fan of science fiction and fantasy, Sheen found the opportunity to don Aro’s robes particularly appealing. “I thought it would be exciting to play a vampire instead of a werewolf, go across to the other side of the tracks,” he said with a red-lipped grin. “I’ve never played a character who delights in his own evil before.”

Brazilian Press Conference Translation

Team Twilight via TwiFans has a translation of the press confernce that was published in Brazilian papers yesterday.

The character of Robert Pattinson, Edward Cullen, didn’t appear in the book like he appears in the film.

Kristen Stewart – It was a purely creative process. The reason that he appears in the movie more is because it’s basically a personification of Bella’s thoughts. In the book, he talks to her in thought. In the film, we see the illustration of this. He appears in dreams, in subjective ideas of Bella. After all, during almost the whole movie, she has he in mind.

Taylor Lautner – And this needed to happen to establish more strongly the idea of the love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob, that Eclipse is fully evident. Bella really in love with Jacob. And she loves Edward. In Eclipse, the story is basically this triangle. So it’s important that this is very visual, that Edward is visual in New Moon.”

Let’s Hear It For the Humans!

The Calgary Herald has an interview with perhaps the most underlooked people in the Twilight Saga franchise: Team Human.

“Sure, New Moon’s vampires and werewolves may get all the attention, but it’s Bella’s gang of high school friends who keep the movie centered in reality. Anna Kendrick, Michael Welch, Justin Chon and Christian Serratos (who play Jessica, Mike, Eric and Angela, respectively) talk about providing the franchise’s comic relief and keeping it real as mortals amongst all the supernatural shenanigans.”

Check out what Justin Chon, Anna Kendrick, Mike Welch and Christian Serratos had to say.

Team Edward vs. Team Jacob Cupcake Contest

We’ve been tweeting about this for a couple of weeks. A local bakery called Sweet Avenue in Rutherford, New Jersey is having a Team Edward. vs. Team Jacob cupcake contest. They started making them and they have been flying off the shelves. So, they decided to see what wold be more popular for the month of November: Team Edward or Team Jacob.

Well we heard about it, and it was a tough job, but someone had to go down there and sample the cupcakes 🙂

So, if you are in the are stop by and pick your cupcake of choice. They come in both chocolate and vanilla. (Pel liked the chocolate better, but they are both good.) As an extra bonus, what could be more Twilight appropriate than the fact that the cupcakes are vegan cupckes! We’ll be back at the end of the month to find out who won!

Rachelle Lefevre’s PSA

The LA Times reports that Rachelle has a done a PSA to bring awareness the causes supported by The Best Friends Animal Society.

Rachelle’s own dog, Honey, is a shelter rescue dog.

Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene: Halloween in Vegas

According to Access Hollywood, Ashley and Kellan had a great time hosting a Halloween party in Las Vegas. Ashley was a peacock and Kellan was on the superhero theme. When asked about New Moon, Ashley said,

“The wolves are funny,” she said. “They’re a threat and a danger to our family but they’re also protecting this person that we all love — so we kind of have to get along with them.”

“Edward kind of breaks Bella’s heart, so you definitely see Jacob kind of swoop in to rescue her,” Ashley said. “You get to see their chemistry and dynamic. It keeps you on the edge of your seat a little bit more than the first one… this one is kind of more about heartbreak and healing.”

Rachelle Lefevre To Attend Premiere?

The LA Times citing a report in Life and Style Magazine is reporting “a source” close to Rachelle has stated, “She worked so hard — she wouldn’t miss it for the world.…She’s looking forward to reuniting with her ‘New Moon’ cast mates.”

If you then go over to the Life and Style site it states, “But Rachelle’s contract for New Moon included tickets to the premiere for her and her family — and she plans to use them. “It’s always been her decision whether to go,” says the insider. “And Rachelle’s decided she wants to.”

Life and Style has had a mixed bag over the past year of getting things dead on to what might be termed out of context items implications. So, given that, judge for yourself.

Regardless, unless Rachelle tweets something earlier, we’ll all know on premiere day.
