Chaske Spencer in Five O’Clock Heroes Video

Chaske Spencer is the roommate of Adam Morse the bassist from the band Five O’ Clock Heroes. He’s frequently talked about the Brooklyn-based group on the official Twilight tour. Now he’s in their video for the song Rough Boys. In an interview the band had this to say about the song and their relative anonymity in the USA:

IRR: Is there a song on the new album that will hook us? Why would it do that?

Five O’Clock Heroes: “Rough boys”. new single. good chorus. nice verse. nice build to the pre-chorus. hahaha. i guess we always strive to make melodic songs. songs with chorus’s. i like a strong chorus. i grew up listening to bands who deliver strong and direct chorus’s.

IRR: You guys are an American band, so why haven’t you ever released an album in the States?

Five O’Clock Heroes: We couldn’t get a deal here. but we had friends who took us on tour in the UK. so we put some credit cards together, paid for it and toured with them, luckily we met a few people along the way who were kind enough to release our albums in the UK and Europe….”

Angela Sarafyan (Tia) Talks Breaking Dawn Experience With MTV

MTV caught up with Angela Sarafyan, who plays Tia, and she only had great things to say about her set experience and castmates.  In the photo left is Lexiconer  Adonis’ version of what she might look like as a red-eyed vampire. According to MTV

“I went on-set and met Bill Condon and he is truly such a great, great person,” she said. “I’m honestly humbled by the fact that he is kind and generous and, with the enormity of this film, has been so graceful about giving every actor their time. He immediately put me on a great starting point. We were all in this incredible Egyptian casbah in Baton Rouge [back in November] and it was quite magnificent. It was quite easy. It’s not as pressure-filled as you’d think. It felt like an independent project where everyone’s having a nice time, no one’s pressured. It’s been that way almost every day that we’ve worked on this.”

Summit Entertainment Releases Official Breaking Dawn Title Treatment

I think we could have guessed it would look something like this as it is stylistically similar to the others in the series. Thoughts?

Eclipse Defended By a Guy Who Actually Gets It From BBC Radio

Lexicon reader Tess wrote in to tell us, “Hey, I know that this is a while after the fact, but I thought I should bring this review to your attention. I emailed you when New Moon came out with a review from Mark Kermode, of BBC Radio 5 Live, one of the few reviewers I have seen or heard of who actually ‘gets’ Twilight. I would have emailed this to you earlier, but I have only just been able to find this review online. In reviewing ‘Eclipse’, he puts up a very strong defense of the series, as well as criticising those critics who he feels did not understand the film. Very interesting, even if only for the fact that it is the best defense of the films I have come across, and its given by a guy.”

Here’s the link to his New Moon review.

Looks Like March is Twilight Actor Movie Month

There are a bunch of movies opening in March that have Twilight actors/directors in key roles.

Red Riding Hood directed by Catherine Hardwicke and co-starring Billy Burke.

Don’t worry, April isn’t boring. That’s when Water for Elephants releases.

What movie do you want to see the most?

Judi Shekoni and Girlpower

According to MSN, Judi Shekoni (who plays Zafrina in Breaking Dawn) is tapped to host a battle-of-the-sexes, reality TV series in the US called When Women Rule the World.

“The Brit tells WENN, “It’s the same format as a British show and the concept is what would happen in a world where women ruled and men obey.

“We went to an island to put that into action – the men had to do what they were told. It throws up the question who would be your ideal man in a woman’s world.”

Check out the story on MSN

Judi also briefly talks about it with paparazzi (we’re running the footage because Judi didn’t seem bothered by the guy) after a November red carpet event.

You can also see Judi’s TV Host demo real below. She seems like she’s fearless and rolls with what is thrown at her.

Twilight Making It Possible For Summit to Revamp Finances

According to Bloomberg News (a leading source on all things financial), Summit is now in a position, thanks to the success of the Twilight movies, to pay off debt, finance productions, and pay dividends to investors.

Statistically, most start-up, indie movie companies don’t even break even, they flop. Summit is an exception with the Twilight films putting them in the black, and giving them options they wouldn’t otherwise have had.

“The proposed refinancing includes a $600 million, seven- year term loan and a $200 million revolving credit facility, New York-based Moody’s Investors Service said today in a report giving the company a B1, non-investment grade rating…Summit is benefiting from “significant” cash flow from the “Twilight” films that reduces risk for investors, Moody’s said. The first three movies in the series generated $1.8 billion in global ticket sales, according to Box Office Mojo, an industry researcher. Two more films are planned.”

As an young, indie company Summit has struck some of its notable success with the Twilight films, The Hurt Locker (Academy Award Picture of the Year 2009), Red(which has just been greenlit for a sequel), and Push. See the entire article here on Bloomberg.

EDITED: The LA Times has now added their two cents to the story.

“The studio’s co-chiefs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger have said that they would consider buying other small entertainment companies or film libraries. They have also said they want to expand into television production through acquisitions or internal investment.

In its analysis, Moodys cited as its chief concern a question often asked in Hollywood: Can Summit maintain its successful track record after releasing the final “Twilight” movies in 2011 and 2012?

“We remain cautious about the sustainability of strong credit metrics beyond 2012,” the Moody’s analysis said, “given the end of the ‘Twilight’ franchise, uncertainty about a replacement franchise and the volatile nature of the company’s business.”

Future improvements or downgrades in the rating, Moody’s added, will depend on the success or failure of its new films that will allow it to pay down debt at a faster or slower rate.”
