All we can say is a lot of you have friends and family who are really good sports about being fake sucker-punched.  We were laughing our heads off at everything from montages of re-cut Buffy episodes to live action running all over town.  In the end there were three that stood out.

Give Nashville a Hand

As many of you know Alphie (Lori) is from the Nashville area. Nashville was hit with a rainstorm that brought two feet and more of water in under 48 hours. It created massive flooding that no one had anytime or warning to prepare for. Famous locations like Civil War historical sites and The Grand Ole Opry were flooded. Alphie’s family was fortunate enough to live on high ground and only had to worry about the relatively minor inconveniences of temporary loss of power and Internet and driving a very round about way to get out of her subdivision.

Others however were not as fortunate. One of our local Nashville friends and budding YA author, Myra McEntire, has organized an auction with proceeds going to Nashville relief. If any of you have ever attended our Nashville movie events, Myra has been the person behind the scenes helping us tote giveaways and stuff bags. Items from various authors such as signed copies or offers to critique your own writing are up for big. Check out Myra’s auction site for details. You can also find Myra on Twitter here and get links to her other sites from there.  Co-organizers for Do the Write Thing for Nashville are  Victoria Schwab and Amanda Morgan, also authors from the Nashville area.

First Look at New Twilight Barbie Collection: Alice and Victoria

Barbie Twilight Alice Eclipse2Barbie Twilight Victoria Eclipse

Barbie is adding two new dolls to their Twilight collection this summer: Alice and Victoria.  Previously, Barbie has produced Edward, Bella, and Jacob. The Jacob dolls were originally composed with a mistake, the tattoo was printed upside down on his arm. Mattel has offered to send a replacement arm to anyone who wants one. However, leaving the misprinted arm Jacob in the box in pristine condition is destined to be a collectors item. Good thing no tattoos for Alice or Victoria!

Bella’s Engagement Ring, By Infinite Jewelry

It seems like the entire web is abuzz about the Bella’s Engagement ring by Infinite Jewelry. We’ve known about the ring for a couple of years now. The company that produces them specifically worked with Stephenie Meyer so that the ring that they have is the ring that she had in her mind when she wrote in Eclipse: “The face was a long oval, set with slanting rows of glittering round stones. The band was gold—delicate and narrow. The gold made a fragile web around the diamonds. I’d never seen anything like it.”  The way the diamonds appear, very low-set, was the way rings were constructed at the turn of the last century.

Both Pel and Alphie have the ring. You can see it featured in the video below, but the photography doesn’t really do it justice. Check it out at Infinite Jewelry’s website. All their products come with a lifetime guarantee, meaning if it gets damaged they’ll fix it no questions asked. If you have one of their products (bracelet, ring, etc) leave a comment so other readers can ask you questions.

Kristen Stewart in Elle Magazine June Issue

Elle Magazine has several tidbits from their upcoming issue with Kristen Stewart:

“On the madness that has become her life: “It’s insane! Once somebody finds out, you have to get the hell out of wherever you are. People freak out. And the photographers, they’re vicious. They’re mean. They’re like thugs. I don’t event want to drive around by myself anymore.  It’s f–ing dangerous.”

On her red-carpet demeanor: “People say that I’m miserable all the time. It’s not that I’m miserable, it’s just that somebody’s yelling at me…I literally, sometimes, have to keep myself from crying…It’s a physical reaction to the energy that’s thrown at you.”

On Team Edward vs. Team Jacob:[Lexicon Note: given her answer we don’t think this is about the team so much as her real-life relationships] “I would never cheapen my relationships by talking about them. People say, ‘Just say who you’re dating. Then people will stop being so ravenous about it.’ It’s like, No they won’t! They’ll ask for specifics.”
