Peter Facinelli has been keeping himself busy outside The Twilight Saga. Asside from his ongoing role as Coop in Nurse Jackie, he has other projects. Peter appears in Loosies which he also wrote. Peter previously wrote a TV special called Accidentally in Love starring his wife Jennie Garth.

Everyone’s favorite vampire doctor is heading to Ft. Wayne, IN to help raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Peter spoke to JournalGazett.com about the charity and about the fans.

“I want to spread awareness,” Facinelli says. “When I learned about the organization, it really moved me that Alex’s parents were able to rise above their grief and help other people. So with these autograph signings – the fans seem to have a good time, the organization benefits and everyone wins.”

“Whenever I talk with fans who know me as Carlisle, it is a really humbling experience,” Facinelli says. “I’ve had fans come up to me and they just don’t speak, which always surprises me. I want to tell them, ‘Don’t be shy. I’m just like you. I’m a fan of these books – and this character – just as much as you are.’ ”

Peter Facinelli comments on the role of Vinny “Paz” Pazienza and the Jersey Shore stereotype:

“Peter Facinelli is best known for playing a duo of doctors – Carlisle in “The Twilight Saga” and Coop in “Nurse Jackie” – but he might be stripping down to a pair of boxer’s shorts for a new role as in-the-ring champ Vinny Paz.

“I’m attached to it,” Peter told AccessHollywood.com of the film-in-the works, based on the life story of the Italian-American former world champ, who formerly went by Vinny Pazienza. “It’s pending script. Right now the script’s being written, so if the script is up to par, I’d love to do it.

“I’ve met Vinny Paz and I think his story is very inspirational,” Peter added. “It’d be fun to do a boxing movie.”

If everything works out, the role would mean a lot of training for the actor, to take on the champ’s shape.

“Yeah, for sure. Once I take on that role,” Peter said of changing his body type. “Vinny has a very specific shape to his body and I’d have to get my body to match his and get into fighting shape. I just think he has more bulk on him, so I would have to bulk up a little bit more.”

“And hello! You have ‘Twilight.’ That must be the coolest thing to be a part of.
I’m having a good time with it. We finished filming four and five. I’m excited to have the filming portion of it over and now I can sit back as one of the fans and see how it all comes together.

Do your daughters think you’re so cool because you work with Robert Pattinson?
My daughters don’t usually get impressed by people I’ve worked with because they’re just Dad’s friends. I think they’re just enamored I’m part of the whole franchise. Rob is just one of Dad’s friends.

Are you amazed at what he and Kristen Stewart have to put up with?
I’m very proud of how they’ve handled it. It’s been fun for me to watch them rise to fame the way they have and the way they’ve handled it. When your life is put under a microscope like that it’s very difficult to function and I give them great credit for functioning and living a normal life within the realm of their fame.”
