2009 Hollywood’s Top Earning Women List

And Carlisle Cullen made the Wealthiest Fictional 15 list earlier this year

Stephenie has now made their Power Woman List coming in at the number 49

“Stephenie Meyer had held only one job, as a receptionist in an Arizona property company before penning the bestselling Twilight series, which has sold 116 million copies worldwide. Meyer’s vision of a world where vampires and teens co-exist may be to blame for the blood-lusting trend that continues four years later with TV series like The Vampire Diaries.”

Carlisle Cullen Makes Forbes List

Carlisle-Cullen New MoonWe have to say that we never thought that we would be writing an entry like this, but Carlilse Cullen has made it onto Forbes Magazine Wealthiest list(AKA the fictional 15). It’s all in good fun, they haven’t completely lost their minds down at Forbes. it’s all to do with fictional characters. According to the Forbes website:

“Global markets are rapidly recovering from the 2008 financial crisis, and so are the fortunes of the fictitious. There are six new characters on the 2010 edition of Fictional 15, our annual ranking of fiction’s richest, with an average net worth of $7.3 billion. In aggregate, the nine returning members are worth $79.8 billion, up 9% since we last checked in on them.

Topping the list this year is newcomer Carlisle Cullen, patriarch of the Cullen coven of vampires in the Twilight series of novels. Cullen, age 370, has accumulated a fortune of $34.1 billion–much of it from long-term investments made with the aid of his adopted daughter Alice, who picks stocks based on her ability to see into the future. Low-key and undead, Cullen has spent recent years posing as a mortal doctor in a small town in Washington State.”

Other oldie but goodie list makers include Jed Clampett of The Beverly Hillbillies, Rich Rich, and the from over in the UK Sir Topham Hatt of Thomas the Tank Engine fame.

Dakota Fanning On Forbes List

Dakota Fanning made Forbes’ list of the 10 most valuable young stars list in the number 3 position. She’s right behind Harry Potter’s Dan Radcliffe and Miley Cyrus.  According to Forbes:

“All actors considered here were age 19 or younger at the time the survey results were released Feb. 10. More importantly, what they all have in common is range, says producer Rick Alvarez, whose credits include the upcoming film Dance Flick. Helping them is the fact that today’s audiences are able–and want–to see young actors in different kinds of roles.”

Catherine Hardwicke Tells All to Forbes

So just how big is the gender gap in Hollywood?  Several female directors tell all to Forbes, among them is Catherine Hardwicke.   Looks like whoever said this, didn’t see a certain ballet scene!

There’s also the perception that a woman simply can’t direct a big, male-oriented film: “People have literally said to my face that I can’t do action,” says Hardwicke, who has worked as a stunt coordinator as well as directed the action-packed Lords of Dogtown and put her signature action stamp on Twilight. “That does make me mad. There’s a lot of stuff they would never say if I were a guy.”

Catherine goes on to say:

“I’ve been on a set where actors have meltdowns, there’s screaming people, the director is yelling, cussing, there’s physical abuse, emotional abuse,” says Hardwicke, who worked as the production designer on the notoriously contentious set of David O. Russell’s Three Kings. “And that is all OK. But if I turn my head to the side, privately, and one tear comes out, I get nailed for it.”

Attention Hollywood! We have money, we will spend it if you’ll only give us what we want. It’s different than what the guys want; it doesn’t make it better or worse just different. So listen up and you’ll get our dollars!

Twilight By The Numbers: Where do we stack vs other films

twilight-booksYahoo Movies has some amazing factoids up.

Over the past four years the “Twilight” series has made a staggering $2.5 billion. But that’s not the only stat worth reporting. Take a look at “Twilight” by the numbers:

-The four top-earning teen romance films of all time are all four “Twilight” films. “Save the Last Dance” (2001) and “Step Up” (2006) come in at a distant 5th and 6th place, respectively.

-The entire “Twilight” film series thus far represents the highest earning vampire films of all time, followed by “Hotel Transylvania” (2012) and “Van Helsing” (2004), respectively.

-Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are the on-screen/off-screen couple who have had the most box office pull — easily beating Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who starred together in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” (2005).

-Dr. Carlisle Cullen (played by Peter Facinelli) made Forbes’ 2012 list of highest earning fictional characters. Is he really worth $36.3 billion!?
