Vancouver Sun Features Jodelle Ferland Post Bree Tanner Release

The Vancouver Sun features local actress Jodelle Ferland about her Bree Tanner experience.

“And with the mad fan frenzy for everything Twilight, you have to wonder whether the producers have already started thinking of a Bree movie. Any such plans would likely follow the filming this fall of the fourth book Breaking Dawn.

Another Twilight-related movie after Breaking Dawn? A slam-dunk, right Jodelle?

“That would be amazing if the they decided to make a movie about the Bree Tanner book, but I don’t know what their plans are.”

Chaske Spencer: Proud Pack Leader

chasketinseleclipseThe Australian site, the Blacktown Sun, interviewed Chaske Spencer. He is slated to be a convention in Australia in the near future.  This is one of the best articles we’ve seen by a mainstream media. You get a real sense of how grounded and humbled Chaske is by the whole Twilight fame tornado.

“It’s a good thing because it’s giving me opportunities. For me, I appreciate everything it’s done but at some point you’ve got to distance yourself and take other roles where you keep your shirt on. I just did a film called Shouting Secrets, a very character driven movie and worked with a brilliant cast and a beautiful script, and that’s what the saga has allowed me. I also did a film called Winter In The Blood in which I pretty much play an alcoholic. I’ve been working before Twilight it just happened that when I got this role it’s given me a lot of exposure but I think you’ve got to keep a smart head on your shoulders and at some point back off.”

Spencer said he was grateful to the saga for its portrayal of native Americans.

“This time around we didn’t have to speak with a broken tongue or slap on the leather and feather,” he said. “There’s character involved here and story, so it was a breath of fresh air … and the fans of Twilight don’t see us as native American actors, they see us as actors, which is something new. It’s a breath of fresh air that when the character’s introduced you have some rock music playing in the background, they’re not looking at you as long-haired native American. They’re looking at you as a werewolf that happens to be native.”

Peter Facinelli Clarifies the Eff-Bomb Explosion

peterpremierePeter Facinelli sent Entertainment Weekly a statement regarding his Eff-bomb laden acceptance speech for New Moon winning Movie of the Year at the MTV Movie Awards:

“My acceptance speech was meant as a satirical commentary to poke fun at the record breaking number of f-bombs dropped during the show. Secretly, I hope that David Mamet tuned in last night in case he’s prepping a revival of Glengarry Glen Ross.”

MTV’s statement read as follows: “The MTV Movie Awards is a live televised event known for irreverent comedy and a party atmosphere where our guests speak more freely than they otherwise might. While we aired the live broadcast with a delay, we were unable to mute every word that some might find objectionable.  All of these words will be muted in subsequent airings. We sincerely apologize to those in our audience who were offended by any objectionable words that might have slipped by for the live airing.”

In related news regarding the show. Reuters cites that viewers were way down: “The “Twilight” stars, Tom Cruise’s funky dance moves and a rainstorm of f-bombs could not stop the MTV Movie Awards from suffering a 13 percent drop in viewership, according to data issued on Monday. The two-hour ceremony averaged 4.6 million viewers on Sunday, down from 5.3 million for last year’s installment, which was the show’s biggest audience since 2004.”

USA Today Gives a Thumbs Up to the Eclipse Soundtrack

soundrtrackcovereUSA Today talks about the broad appeal of the Eclipse Soundtrack which is out today!

“The indie pop collected for the soundtrack to ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ should appeal to a broad range of music fans.

With sales of the first two Twilight soundtracks at 3.6 million copies, it’s no surprise some 400 songs were submitted for the third set by artists eager to hop on a hot franchise.

Producer Alexandra Patsavas pruned the heap to 15 congruous originals that admirably maintain a dignified creative independence while conveying the gray, swoony tones of Stephenie Meyer‘s teen vampire romance. In other words, indie-rock snobs can buy the CD without fear of social stigma.”
