Stephenie Meyer Makes Forbes Power Women List

Stephenie Meyer is no stranger to the Forbes listings. She has previously appeared on their

2010 Successful Author List
2010 Celebrity 100 List
2009 Celebrity 100 List
2009 Hollywood’s Top Earning Women List

And Carlisle Cullen made the Wealthiest Fictional 15 list earlier this year

Stephenie has now made their Power Woman List coming in at the number 49

“Stephenie Meyer had held only one job, as a receptionist in an Arizona property company before penning the bestselling Twilight series, which has sold 116 million copies worldwide. Meyer’s vision of a world where vampires and teens co-exist may be to blame for the blood-lusting trend that continues four years later with TV series like The Vampire Diaries.”

The actors posted videos on Your.MTV.com letting young people know that no matter what, there is always someone or something to rely on in the face of adversity…In light of recent teen suicides linked to anti-gay bullying — specifically the death of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi — MTV partnered with Snow and the Jed Foundation (with support from DoSomething.org, the Trevor Project, Reach Out, Active Minds and the Ad Council) to create Love Is Louder and help spread messages of love and hope to teens who feel they might have run out of options.”

In high school, he enrolled in a Michigan arts academy to focus on acting. While there, he met a couple of guys who are still part of his band, 100 Monkeys. Nikki Reed Raising a Rescue Dog

Looks like Kellan Lutz isn’t the only Twilight actor to raise rescue animals. His two dogs, Kola and Kevin, are both from shelters. Nikki Reed has a rescue pet too, a pit bull named  Sydney. According to People Pets:

“In the Twilight saga, Nikki Reed plays a vampire who deals with werewolves — not to mention the curse of perpetual teen angst. But none of that could prepare the actress for her latest project: raising rescue dog Sydney.

“She’s a pit bull, and I’m all about tough dogs,” Reed told PEOPLEPets.com last Friday night at Teen Vogue‘s 8th Annual Young Hollywood Party in Los Angeles. “But she definitely has a screw loose!”

The actress rescued the 2 1/2-year-old from a shelter, and the two seemed to have an instant connection. But soon after the pooch came home, Reed started to notice a few, er, peculiar personality traits in her four-legged pal.

“I hate to say this, but she doesn’t like kids,” the actress admits, adding, “and she doesn’t like strollers … and she hates other animals.”

Nikki Reed’s, Staple’s and DoSomething.org’s School Supply Drive a Success

According to the press release from Staples:

Nikki_Photo_dosomethignStaples and DoSomething.org announced today that the 3rd Annual Staples/Do Something 101 School Supply Drive put more than $807,000 worth of school supplies, the most ever in the campaign’s history, into the hands of students who need them.

“I am inspired by and applaud the many teen volunteers who gave their time and energy to help students in need,” said actress and screenwriter Nikki Reed, spokesperson of this year’s Staples/Do Something 101 School Supply Drive. “The donations Staples collected will have widespread effects, helping students throughout the country get their school year off to a great start. I’m so happy to have been able to be a part of such a meaningful cause.”

Reed teamed up with DoSomething.org and Staples to launch the 3rd Annual Staples/Do Something 101 School Supply Drive in May. Do Something 101 also added more celebrity power with the Staples Give-Back Pack, a grassroots and online program where music artists Jason Derulo, Kellie Pickler and Drake Bell raised $14,500 by encouraging teens to get involved at www.staplesgivebackpack.com. In addition, The Office’s Ellie Kemper and Angela Kinsey showed their support by collecting supplies from NBC offices, and encouraging others to get involved through an online video.

Staples capped off the star power by hosting an after-party at the Teen Choice Awards to “redefine the celebrity gift bag.” Actress Nikki Blonsky, singer JoJo, Chuck star Zac Levi, Teen Choice Award winner Lucy Hale and musical performers “We the Kings” showed their support at the event joining teen volunteers to assemble “gift bags” filled with $125,000 worth of school supplies donated by Staples for 5,000 students in Los Angeles.

All summer long, Staples customers were able to give back to their local communities by donating one dollar at any Staples store or dropping off supplies to help local not-for-profit organizations serving disadvantaged students. Staples collected $646,000 from customers to benefit local youth organizations. Since the campaign started in 2008, Do Something 101 has raised $1.88 million for hundreds of thousands of students in need throughout the country.

“The motivation and goodwill of our customers and the many teens who donate their time and money this summer to benefit such a great cause is remarkable,” said Demos Parneros, president of U.S. Retail at Staples. “We thank everyone for coming together for Do Something 101 and helping our local communities send students to school with the tools they need to succeed.”

“Our mission is to encourage teenagers to take action and use their time to help others,” said DoSomething.org CEO and Chief Old Person Nancy Lublin. “Through this campaign and Staples’ generosity, we have been able to raise awareness of the importance of giving back while donating much needed school supplies to underprivileged youth.”

To further support DoSomething.org, Staples launched a line of DoSomething.org-branded products this year to help students stay organized and learn about issues impacting their communities. Students can visit www.dosomething101.org/staples for additional information and suggestions to help them take action in their communities.

Parade Magazine: Jennie Garth and Life With Dr. Cullen…AKA Peter Facinelli

Parade Magazine interviewed Jennie Garth who is married to Peter Facinelli who plays Carlisle Cullen. Among the many things the magazine covers is the impact that Twilight fame has had on the couple and their three daughters.

“How do her daughters react to having a Cullen for a father.

“My 13-year-old has read the first two books. We stopped it there; it got a little too risque. But she’s more embarrassed by it, actually. She’s like, ‘Let’s not talk anything Twilight. Don’t mention it. Wear a hat to my school.’ She’s a little embarrassed by it, she wants people to like her for her and not because of him, or want to come to our house because of that. It’s something we deal with. But she’s proud of him. She’s actually a really gifted songwriter at 13; she’s like Taylor Swift. She wants to write scripts and write songs, so she’s constantly doing that.”
