Solar Eclipse Spawns Twilight Twitter Jokes

MTV has gone to Twitter for their Twilight Tuesdays this week.  Social media sites were a buzz with news about the solar eclipse and MTV found a great way to tie it in with Twilight.

“Just because there’s a lack of “Twilight”-themed videos and interviews doesn’t mean the very dedicated fanbase stops talking about their favorite franchise. And never underestimate the ability of a “Twilight” fan to bring up the subject in any conversation, particularly when said conversation involves a natural phenomenon that ties into Stephenie Meyer’s fantastical world.”

@LordVoldemort (one of Alphie’s favorites on twitter) had this to say:  “Twilight fans, I hear if you look at the #eclipse tonight you’ll see vampires and werewolves frolicking. Or go blind. Whichever.”

And Dan Munz included the image below with his tweet, which is something Many Twilight fans have been joking about for a while now.  “Wow, this eclipse is truly stunning. I can even make out a bit of twilight on the edge.”

Noel Fisher Says Vampire Bella is Badass

Noel Fisher talked to E! on the Hatfields and McCoys red carpet and had this to say:

“Vampire Bella is badass!” Noel Fisher, 28, who plays Romanian vampire Vladimir in the film, told us last night at the Hollywood Reporter’s premiere of the new History Channel miniseries Hatfields & McCoys.

And it has a lot to do with her eyes—her fake red eyes, that is.

“I think one of the cool things about becoming a vampire is that the contacts really just add this whole other thing to it,” Fisher said. “You catch glimpses of yourself walking by in a window and you’re like, ‘Ah! Oh, God!’ Oh wait, they’re contacts.”

The Twilight Examiner just put up a list of reasons to vote Twilight at the MTV Movie Awrds

Prove ‘Em Wrong: Robert Pattinson said recently that the Twilight fervor is “dying down” and becoming replaced by The Hunger Games. If you think that’s an incorrect statement, well, there’s only one way to prove him wrong!

Don’t Let Kristen Down: Kristen Stewart will be presenting at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, this we already know. We don’t want to let our gal go home empty-handed, now do we?

Kristen Stewart Talks Viewing Breaking Dawn Differntly Than Critics

Kristen Stewart has an interview in The Guardian where she talks Twilight history and Snow White.

Many thought Twilight pushed an abstinence message, presenting sex as a danger to be avoided – in this case, of course, specifically because it would involve coupling with a vampire and a werewolf. Was it worrying to have that outlook pinned to her? “I always just very honestly said that that’s not why I did the movie, and it’s not why the book was written,” she says, adding that she finds it frustrating when people read the characters differently to her. “Mostly in this idea that Bella is a weak girl who is just obsessed with these two boys, and doesn’t really think beyond her own needs, and is selfish. And she is, completely, but that’s like the way to live, man! You’ve got to follow your heart. That is actually a really bold way to live, not making concessions, or giving things up … I don’t know why people ignore the sacrifices that Edward makes. I don’t know why the power thing has been viewed the way it’s been viewed, because I just view it so differently.”

Will Breaking Dawn Quotes Make the Breaking Dawn 2 Movie?

Twilight Examiner has a comparison of Breaking Dawn quotes from the novel and how they are morphed when they appear on screen.

Current items from the teaser:

1. Bella (Kristen Stewart): “After eighteen years of being utterly ordinary, I’ve finally found that I can shine.”

Book Version (Ch. 26, p. 523): “After eighteen years of mediocrity, I was pretty used to being average. I realized now that I’d long ago given up any aspirations of shining at anything. I just did the best with what I had, never quite fitting into my world. So this was really different. I was amazing now – to them and to myself. It was like I had been born to be a vampire. The idea made me want to laugh, but it also made me want to sing. I had found my true place in the world, the place I fit, the place I shined.”

She also has a collection of not to be missed quotes to look out for in part 2.

“You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness Monster?” – Bella Cullen (Ch. 22, p. 451)

“Bella” chose the name “Renesmee,” but while she was muscling through the torment of transformation, “Jacob” not only imprinted on her daughter, but he also gave her a very odd nickname. Mama Cullen is none-too-pleased here. Needless to say, things get entertaining.
