  1. I borrowed The Host from a friend cuz i wasnt sure if Id like it…I loved it! I would really love to have my own copy!

  2. What intrigues me most about The Host … the ability/will to survive and the ability to love despite prejudices and appearances.

  3. It is the intriguing suspense that drew me to the Host. What will happen to Wanda and will she give her body to her Host. Why do the humans hate aliens so much and will both of them get their love. This is what attracts to The Host. Wanda has a perseverance which is not understand by humans. Her willingness to help them despite knowing she might be killed by them is interesting

  4. Kimberly Finney says:

I love that its not expected. I think of Stephenie Meyer and vampires so this was great!

  5. Andy E. says:

I think it’s the fact that it’s so different from many books. I personally haven’t read it, but I’ve heard great things! Would love to get the chance to win a copy. Thanks for hosting such an awesome giveaway! ^_^

  6. I’m looking forward to seeing how it translates to film!

  7. N Simmons says:

I would really like to read a different style of book by S. Meyer. Also I love any book that is Sci Fi themed!!!

  8. I loved “The Host.” What most intrigued me was the way Wanderer came into her own. She even managed a seperate love life while inside Mel.

  9. Debbie Pham says:

I enjoy the writings of S. Meyer. I just can’t afford a new book right. It would be nice to get a free copy so I could save up for the next book in line.

  10. Tamyra Oler says:

I think it’s great that someone could have two people/personalities fighting for control inside them and NOT be considered mentally insane! Lol! Loved the book and can’t wait to see it on film!

  11. Wanda’s other worldliness but also her very human side is what intrigued me.
She reminds me a bit of Superman in that way (and he’s my all time hero).
The fact that she didn’t just come to take over but to try and make something more beautiful is amazing, of course that’s not how the humans saw it but that’s what she believed.
The Host is one of my top 10 most favorite books. Too many reasons really to explain why I love it so much.

  12. I am a science fiction fan and would like to read what else Stephenie Meyer has written. I’m intrigued with the vast difference between this story and TWS.

  13. AMBER ELKINS says:

I have always loved sci-fi type suspense thrillers, so that combined with Stephenie’s writing, I know will be amazing. I haven’t had the chance to read it yet, so I would LOVE to win a copy for my own. & I can’t wait to see the movie next year! ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck to everyone & Congrats to whoever wins… I hope I’m one of them ๐Ÿ˜‰

  14. Kessehu James says:

What intrigued be and grabbed my heart was Wanderer’s love for people who with desperation and raw passion want to kill her. Her patience and understanding of what the humans have gone through and her ability to see why they are desperate just breaks my heart. Its fascinating see her develop from an innocent almost childlike view of this world and fully grow into her own person. I will always hold this story dear to my heart. This is one of my favorite books.

  15. Krystal Gamel says:

I loved her twilight books!! I need a new book and love sci-fi. I would love a free copy since times are rough right now!!

  16. Like others, I read The Host while coming down from the high of reading the whole Twilight Saga on a binge ๐Ÿ˜› The Host and I had a rocky start until about page 80 I believe, then I was completely intrigued by how the Melanie/Jared/Wanda triangle would be resolved. I just couldn’t figure out how it would all work out, and I really wished it would have a happy ending. I won’t say more because I don’t want to spoil other people ๐Ÿ˜› Thanks for the giveaway!

  17. What I loved about the Host was the way you got to see family bonds develop. They are so real, no natural, and fated that it seems like this family must exist somewhere. Similar to the Cullen family’s bonds, Stephenie really creates beautiful family relationships.

  18. Lauren Guilbeau says:

I’ve been wanting to read this book since I heard she was writing a book geared to adults. Plus I love scifi too. Hope to win!

  19. Natalie says:

Loved the book — what is intriguing me most is that my SON wants to read it, so I need to win him a copy!

  20. I liked how I kept on picturing Willie Nelson as Uncle Jeb.

  21. Brittany says:

I love the sci-fi seeming factor of it, it seems completely opposite of the twilight novels, which I adore, and I’m really excited to fall in love with another one of Stephanie’s wonderful stories!

  22. I wasn’t interested at first. Then I read more of Meyer’s work other then the first of the twilight series. Now I am curious to see how she attacked a totally different storyline and something different then vampires.

  23. What intrigues me most is the love box lol … Great love story ! And the characters are great which Stephenie does best. Loved it !

  24. Lisa Peretin says:

What intrigues me most is seeing if The Host can love up to the Twilight Saga that Stephanie Meyers created. This will truly show her strength as an author if she can pull another success out of this one!

  25. I started the book and just couldn’t passed the first chapter, but I picked it up again determined to read it and once I got into it a bit I couldn’t stop listening. I have it on audio and would love to have a hard copy. I would encourage everyone to give it a chance it is not what I consider a real heavy scifi so don’t let that scare you off. Can’t wait for the movie.

  26. Stephenie’s concepts re The Host are brilliant [who knows – we may be actually “invaded” at present and instead of “peaceful” souls we may have “war-monger” souls amongst us – just a thought…]. What drove me “crazy” when reading it, was all the “geography”. I got REALLY REALLY annoyed with all the descriptions of the tunnels {who cares ???? }. I actually felt when I finished the book that it would make a great “Movie”.

However it didn’t move me the way Twilight did. Stephenie’s descriptives in the Twi. books left me floored and wanting more….just wish she’d finish Midnight Sun and keep going with Edwards point of view. Then include Jacobs-ooh, the possibilites !!!!!

  27. I actually loved the new body at the end, and the budding romance that says….book 2 on its way! lol I was sp hoping there would be 2 and now there is going to be 3, yaaaaaay!

  28. kcozz21 says:

I don’t know much about the story, but the sci-fi aspect intrigues me.

  29. Mayra Meza says:

Where do I start I LOVE!!!!!! this book I love the romance in it the action everything ๐Ÿ™‚ I love how Jared & Melanie love each other how Ian fell in love with Wanda despite what she was. How Wanda knew the souls were wrong in taking over Earth. I could go on forever it’s just an AMAZING book ๐Ÿ™‚

  30. What intrigues me the most is the survival aspect of the story. Humans will fight to survive in any situation and it is good to see this portrayed in the novel. People didn’t just give up and they were able to live fairly happy in the caves despite the circumstances.

  31. For me it’s how love is so strong that stops the alien “soul” from completely taking over …like everyone else has been taken over. I’m also intrigued with the fact that these aliens are kind of good, as they make everyone perfect. Usually alien invasions are violent, destroying all humanity just to take over the actual Earth. So I really want to read the book and see the movie because I want to explore it and understand it ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. Kristen says:

What intrigued me the most about The Host was the idea that in order for the world and it’s inhabitants to become peaceful and harmonous, it required the loss of ‘dominant’ species. Did the Souls feel as though they had a duty to save the planet? If so, why did they not find a way to save the humans themselves? Is the life of a species not just as important as the planet itself. Yes, I suppose that human beings technically were not extinct because of the ‘invasion’ but…at what point is it no longer alright to take over the species body? On the other side, I was intrigued by the anger and hostility that the humans in the cave showed. Although they had a right to be angry, it showed just how terrible we humans can be. Though in a way the Souls had similiar tendencies to acts of violence, when they would ‘put-down’ a human whose body they couldn’t use. There are so many different characteristics, ideas, and provoking thoughts that this book creates. I love The Host!!

  33. I’m intrigued because it sounds so bizarre and different from the Twilight books, and because I read somewhere (can’t find it again now!) that Stephenie Meyer felt she had proved herself outside her big successful saga as an adult author, which was something J.K. Rowling hadn’t achieved. Also, I love the Twilight Saga so much but normally struggle to get into sci-fi so am intrigued to see if Stephenie Meyer writing sci-fi hooks me staight away the way Twilight did, or I’ll have to work to get into it like I do normally with sci-fi.

  34. Samantha Bill (@SBill703) says:

What intrigued me about this story was the idea of souls. we claim that having a good soul means that you care more about others than yourself, that you are good through and through. Wanda was that, she cared more about others, about the people who wanted to kill her, and yet she was still hated by others, and looked upon as evil. the idea that the humans saw themselves as the good guys, and yet they had done nothing but destroy the world around them and destroying each other. the souls, the aliens were good and pure, but they had also taken free will away from the humans, so it was difficult to know who was right and who was wrong, but one thing was for sure, that no matter what species was in the world that Stephanie created, the good were judged by their hearts. that is what i loved most about the book, and why i read it again and again. Plus, i am team Ian!

  35. Isabelle says:

I have read it twice before and i loved it! What most intrigues me is the ending when they meet the other group and they have some one like Wanda too.

  36. I’ve already read The Host but I borrowed it from the library so I’ll love to have a copy of my own. I’m a sci-fi nerd and obsessed with aliens so I liked that Stephenie presented a very unique view on souls. They were so compassionate and loving, even better than humans. I loved how the book was written from Wanderer’s point of view, I love her character and how human she actually was. It also gifted me the amazing character of Ian O’Shea….that’s always a plus! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Awesome giveaway ladies!

  37. Renee Shubert says:

What intrigues me the most about the host is the love triangle while your body is a host to an alien. I must know more!
