Nashville DVD Release Party with Alphie

BordersAfter a little bit of confusion from Borders (they didn’t catch on that Pel and Alphie don’t live in the same place!) I have managed to confirm that I (Alphie) will be at the Borders store in the Cool Springs shopping area in Franklin, TN for their DVD release party.  If you’ve been to any of our movie events in Tennessee, then you shouldn’t have any problems finding this Borders store as it is pretty much across the street from where we’ve had our movie events!  Because I love giving things away, I will bring with me a wolf pack canvas tote bag autographed by some of the members of the pack to give away at the store for one of their events.  If you want to win, you have to show up!  So I’ll see you tonight!  The festivities begin around 9:30.

As a reminder, Pel will be in NYC with Kara from TwilightMoms, and she’ll also be giving away autographed items.

Cameron Bright Weighs in on The Twilight Experience

cameron-bright-alecVancouver native, Cameron Bright, who plays Alec spoke to Metronews Canada About the Volturi. Cameron is also featured in Eclipse.

“Bright’s Alec is at first glance, an almost cherubic figure, but one who wields the lethal ability to completely shut off his victims’ senses, rendering them virtual vegetables. It’s just another novel re-imagining of an iconic monster — the vampire — that has caused both the Twilight books and the films to be controversial amongst purists.

“I think our vampires are really interesting,’ says the actor.

“We have a side history, something unique. Sometimes I hear people criticizing the way the vampires are presented in the film, the fact that we glitter and turn into diamonds but, here’s the thing: Vampires don’t exist! We can portray them any way we want to.”

Peter Facinelli on Martha Stewart, and New Film Starting This Summer

Peter Facinelli mentioned this item briefly during the Q&A at the Los Angeles Official Twilight Convention. According to Vanity Fair, ”

Verdi-Corrente Prods. has signed “Twilight” actor Peter Facinelli to star in two features helmed by Michael Corrente.

The drama-comedy “Loosies” is in pre-production with production slated for mid-summer.

Biopic “Paz,” based on the life of boxer Vinnie Pazienza, will launch early next year. Facinelli and Chad A. Verdi will co-produce both films.

Facinelli played Carlisle Cullen in the first two “Twilight” installments and will return in the third pic, “Eclipse,” set for a June release. He also stars opposite Edie Falco in Showtime’s dark comedy series “Nurse Jackie.”

Facinelli penned “Loosies,” in which he’ll play a successful pickpocket in the New York living the outlaw lifestyle until confronted with an old one-night stand who tells him that she is pregnant with his child.

“Paz” centers on Pazienza’s comeback from a near-fatal car accidentk. Told by doctors he would never walk again, Pazienza trained in secret and was able to re-enter the ring.”

Seattle Times: Melissa Rosenberg on Adaptation, Stephenie Meyer, and Breaking Dawn

melissarosenbergredcMelissa Rosenberg talked with the Seattle Times. She going to be in town for the midnight DVD release and according to the paper, the location is Bothell’s Fred Meyer . Check out her interview, it’s one of the better ones.

Q: You’ve written a lot about teenagers — how do you tap into that angst-ridden state?

A: I never write for teenagers. … The minute you start trying to capture some sort of jargon or whatever is hip now, you’re already outdated, by the time it hits the screen. … It really is about finding character and emotional truth, rather than something current or edgy.

Q: How was each director in the series different?

A: For Catherine [Hardwicke], we had very little time to work on “Twilight,” I was feeding her pages … and immediately it was a very intense collaboration. With Chris [Weitzon “New Moon”], I’d already finished the second draft before he came on board, so I did a round or two and handed it off to him, and he made changes. … David [Slade] is a very visual director … so with “Eclipse” (due in 2011) I was able to write out specifically some of the sequences per his direction.”

Moviefone: Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning talk about playing two rock and roll icons caught up in a whirlwind before that were 18-years-old.

“Cherie Currie and Joan Jett were 15 when they started the band. Where were you emotionally when you were that age?
Fanning: Where I’m at personally doesn’t really affect the roles that I choose. For this one, I really liked that I was 15 and Cherie was 15 when she was going through all of this because I never wanted it to be like I was pretending to be older and doing things that were too “old.” This was a real thing and she actually went through this when she was that age, and I liked that parallel and similarity to her. My mom told me when I read the script that I had on a cherry temporary tattoo, which is kind of weird. Cherie loves that story. I think she tells it to everybody!
Stewart: It’s funny how you remember your life in movies, like how old were you when you did this movie. I remember being 15 when I did ‘In The Land of Women.’ I was still in school, which was different, but like Dakota, I lived a really normal life that is really starkly different from theirs.”
