Peter Facinelli: Interview With a Vampire Dad

The Omaha World Herald interviewed Peter Facinelli. Peter is in town for a signing with proceeds going to Nashville flood relief.

“Q. Did you have a late night partying at the MTV Awards?

A. We’re on the West Coast so everything ended early. I went to the after-party. Then I had to get home to make sure (my kids) didn’t watch the MTV Awards.

Q. Tell me about your acceptance speech for the “Twilight” win at the awards. (Facinelli dropped one too many vulgarities — some of which couldn’t be bleeped in time — when accepting the best movie prize for ”New Moon.”)

A. I’m not going to make any apologies for thanking Justin Bieber.

Q. What should fans expect with the next “Twilight” film? Did you think the series would be this huge?

A. When we started the film series, we definitely knew there was a fan base. But we had no idea it was going to explode. We were facing an uphill battle because everyone has their own vision of the movie in their head. We just wanted to go out and make our version and hope that people liked it. We had no idea we would get the response that we did.

Q. What do you think worked so well?

A. I’d have to give the credit to Catherine Hardwicke (director of the first “Twilight” film) for setting the tone. If the tone had been wrong, the film could have failed miserably. So I give a lot of credit to her for setting that edgy tone. It was a tricky thing. People love the books. I give a lot of credit to Stephenie Meyer for creating that world.”

On The Red Carpet Talks to Mike Welch

Mike really shows the long-term industry actor that he is. In our opinion, of the younger, minor members of the Twilight cast the only people with better resumes as far as duration and quality are Anna Kendrick and Dakota Fanning.
