Anna Kendrick: We Threw Our Own Wrap Party

Contact Music is quoting Anna Kendrick about how small the original Twilight movie was.

People say, ‘But you must have known it was a big deal,’ but no, we didn’t.

“We even threw our own wrap party after the first movie. Emails were exchanged between us saying, ‘Hey, do you want to hang out? Do you think we should have a little wrap party thing?’

“It was not like being on a big movie; the success of the first film was an accident. I don’t really think something like that would happen by accident again.”

Video: Peter Facinelli Talks About Producing, Directing, and Acting

Shockya had the chance to interview Peter Facinelli about taking the total plunge on the other side of the camera. People always ask what Twilight has given to the actors involved. For Facinelli it’s clearly the ability to start a production company and doing his own projects.

This press release was just issued today to talk about the film’s debut.

Rhode Island film production company Verdi Productions (VP) announced today that its film “Loosies” will hit the big screen Jan 11th at the IFC Center located at 323 Sixth Avenue at West Third Street, New York City, with other locations to follow. “Loosies” is being released through IFC Films and will soon expand to over 60 million homes on Video on Demand through major US cable distributors, as well as iTunes and the SundanceNow website.

Filmed nearly entirely in Rhode Island, “Loosies” tells the story of Bobby (Peter Facinelli, “Twilight”), a NYC pickpocket, who roams the city disguised as a stockbroker. He’s handsome and charming, fitting in perfectly with the Wall Street types on the subway and downtown, but with no father and a mother who does not work, Bobby is forced to live a life of crime in order to make ends meet. He becomes the center of a citywide search and soon runs into an even bigger challenge..Lucy (Jaimie Alexander, “Thor”), a recent one-night stand. It is now three months after their passionate one night affair, and Bobby is confronted with a tough reality. Lucy informs him she is pregnant, and that the child is his. Suddenly two different worlds collide, forcing Bobby to reevaluate a lifetime of missteps.

“Loosies” was directed by Rhode Island native Michael Corrente and co-stars Rhode Island actors Tommy DeNucci, (“Inkubus”, “Infected”), Tom Paolino, (“Inkubus”, “Infected”) and Sera Verdi(“Inkubus”, “Infected”). “One of the main goals in all my films is to utilize the talent and infrastructure we have in Rhode Island, and I’m thrilled we could shoot 90% of Loosies right here,” stated Verdi. “Having Loosies hit the big screen is a huge accomplishment and something I am very proud of. Then to have the VOD release expanded to over 60 million homes is the icing on the cake.”

“Loosies” also stars William Forsythe (“Boardwalk Empire” HBO, “Inkubus”, “Devil’s Reject”), Michael Madsen, (“Kill Bill”, “Infected”) and Vincent Gallo, (“Brown Bunny”).

Edward and Bella Wedding Themed Barbie and Ken Dolls

Summit just let us know that “Starting in February, special edition Barbie dolls, featuring Bella & Edward on their wedding day, will be available on BarbieCollector.com at $29.95 each”

Comic Con Pre-registration Process Starts Today

Comic Con has just changed the way people register for their annual convention. They now have a preregistration where you have to create an account (different than before) in order to be registered in their system with a unique name and ID. Then when they have registration a couple of months down the road, you apparently log in using that newly created ID in order to get your convention passes. Yes, I know that this is a little confusing, but that’s their system.

Now Summit has not announced yet if they will be at Comic Con (nor has any other studio for that matter). However, we would believe that it would be highly unlikely for them skip Comic Con since it’s the last hurrah for Twilight. Also since they tend to be marketing creatures of habit, we also think it highly likely that they would be there on Thursday since that is what they have done every single year that they were there.

So in short:

1. Go here and create an account using the big red button in the right column.

2. Once you have this account when they actually start offering event passes you can buy them. They have not as of yet announced the on-sale date of these passes

Please keep in mind the following:

Registering for Comic Con does not guarantee you a seat in any panel. It’s first come first serve seating, and if other popular things are in the hall that day sleeping out on the street is likely necessary.

Comic Con is not run by Summit Entertainment. Summit does not set any rules here, Comic Con staff does in conjunction with the security force at the convention center.

99% of the Twilight fans in the past have been able to see the Q & A panels. Roughly 3,000 people fit into the big hall (AKA Hall H) Some lucky ones on a lottery ticket system in the past got autographs from some of the stars. Last year some stars (not Rob Kristen or Taylor) stopped by to bring breakfast over to those of us waiting outside.

As soon as we know more we will announce it.

Dan Radcliffe Plays Trivia With Josh Horowitz and Twilight Features

This is all part of that after hours tongue-in-cheek interview series that Josh Horowitz does. Previous interviewees have included Anna Kendrick. Dan is pretty much getting his butt kicked until he gets to the Twilight questions.

Robert Pattinson To Appear at People’s Choice Awards

When we reported that Ashley Greene was scheduled to appear on Wednesday night for the People’s Choice Awards, the number one question that popped up was… will she be the ONLY cast member? Mark Malkin at E! Online is reporting that Robert Pattinson will be there not only to take on Dan Radcliffe and Johnny Depp as Favorite Movie Actor, but to also promote his new film, Bel Ami. There is no word yet if Kristen Stewart or any of the other cast members will be at the awards show.

Let us know in the comments if this has changed your mind about watching the show. Were you going to watch anyway even if Rob hadn’t been scheduled?

Brand New Forks High School Opens for Students

Remember how we told you that the original building of Forks High School was going to be torn down due to wear and tear on the building. The principal had told us back in 2009 how they had to start heating the building at 3:00 am just to get it to 50 degrees by the time students arrived, and that they had trouble even getting it to 60 degrees. Students were wearing coats in class all winter, obviously not an ideal situation.

As with most construction, they looked at remodeling and rapidly discovered it was most economical to knock down and rebuild rather than to renovate. Initially they were going to keep the entire building facade, but that too proved impractical and outrageously expensive. So what the came up with was keeping some of the main entrance, incorporating it into the new entrance hallway, and selling former bricks as a fundraiser.

The Forks Forum was there for the grand reopening when school came back into session last week and this is what they reported:

For the first time in about 20 years all of Forks High School’s students are attending class under one roof. After years of planning and bond fund raising, followed by months of construction, the new Forks High School Addition opened to students and staff as scheduled on Tuesday morning, Jan. 3. Students mixed in the hall with construction workers from Primo Construction who are putting the finishing touches on the project.(new main entrance pictured above)

Terra cotta and brick elements from the entrance to the the original brick Forks High School building are now part of the interior wall entrance to Forks High School. In coming months a display of memorabilia from each decade of the high school’s history dating back to the 1920s will go on display in the hall leading into the entrance, an area to be called Heritage Hall. (pictured below)

See more on The Forks Forum including lots of great photos.

Just a brief plug for the school. If you are going to be buying Forks HS Spartan’s gear, please buy it right from the school rather than other vendors. This way the activities fund at the school gets the money and their students directly benefit!
