Cinematical: Francis Bean Passed Up Bella and Alice

We are fairly sure this goes in the “consider the source and take it with a grain of salt” pile since Courtney wasn’t exactly close to her daughter at the time of the Twilight casting and was doing a lot of communication with her up until recently via Twitter. It also didn’t seem to come up in conversation as you’d think it would back when Courtney was trying to set Francis up with Robert Pattinson for a date roughly 18 months ago.

Nonetheless, Cinematical is reporting that Courtney Love is claiming that her daughter, Francis Bean Cobain, was up for both the parts of Bella in Twilight and Alice in Alice in Wonderland.

“Fair warning to anyone who carries a microphone around with them all day long: avoid Courtney Love. Seems that the consistently annoying widow of Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain was recently greeted by someone holding a microphone, and this is what she had to say about her 20-year-old daughter:

“Frances is so beautiful, but she doesn’t want to be famous. She was offered the part of Bella in the Twilight movies, and Tim Burton wanted her for Alice in Wonderland. But she wants to go to college — she’s very good at graphic novels… Frances will be fine.”

See the rest at Cinematical. We are going to the Portland Twilight Convention where Catherine Hardwicke is among the presenters. If we are lucky, maybe we can get Catherine to dish on who else was up for Bella. At one of her convention appearances we got her to give up the names of the Edward possibles who didn’t make it (Jackson Rathbone, Ben Barnes, and Shiloh Fernandez).

Nicola Peltz Working With Rob but on Team Jasper

The best part of the video (which you have to click and go to Digital Spy to see, they won’t let us embed it…grrrr) is Jackson Rathbone looking at Nicola like an older brother ready to torture her when the questions start. You can practically see the wheels in his mind turning. Then Nicola gives an answer Jackson doesn’t expect and he’s all proud.

White Twilight For the UK

We aren’t really sure what sparked the color change, but now we have a glimpse of what a limited edition of Twilight in the UK is going to look like:

It’s not the first time the Brits have done their own thing with the book covers. You can see the original UK covers of New Moon and Twilight below. By the time Eclipse rolled around they decided to go with the the US edition cover.

According to The Bookseller: “The four limited-edition titles: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, will be published by Atom on 14th October as £7.99 paperbacks, available only in the UK and Ireland, and Little, Brown’s territories including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India. The white editions will not be available in the US.

The white titles will only be published between October and Christmas 2010, replacing the usual black jackets. The titles will have crimson-edged pages and crimson back covers, with text confined to the spines.”

There is no listing as of yet on Amazon UK, but generally speaking you can get UK published items sent to other parts of the world as long as you are willing to pay the shipping. EDITED: Search on Amazon UK for “Twilight Paperback, New Moon paperback” etc and you can preorder  http://wp.me/pZlGB-5bv Total cost for all four white version to USA is £39.91 which is roughly $63.00 at current conversion rates. That does not include shipping.

Charlie Bewley Plays With the Press

Poor Marc Malken at E! It looks like he never really experienced Charlie Bewley’s off-beat sense of humor before. Marc met Charlie recently and remarked, “Charlie Bewley is either really funny—or completely nuts.” (Trust us Marc, it’s both, and you never know which!)

How are they going to show the birth?
I think they should just go all the way and do it in 3D! The baby kind of like pops out and floats above the audience’s head. Everyone who goes to see the movie with a bunch of kids going, “What?!”

I just don’t think they’re going to go for that.
There will be blood going like this [tilts head back, opens mouth and slides fingers over his face].

Maybe that could be at like a midnight showing. But seriously, how are they going to show it?
I have no idea. [But] they have to keep it in there. It’s part of the book.

Have A Spare 5 Mil? Then Buy Peter Facinelli’s Home

According to various media sources Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth are selling their current home to buy a new one where it is more conducive to horseback riding and other outdoor things they love.

According to E!(who is also getting the exclusive inside tour of the house) “In addition to 6 bedrooms and 7.5 baths, there’s also a cool game room, a big private pool, killer views and, of course, the ability to brag to your friends that you reside in the house that once belonged to Dr. Carlisle Cullen himself!”

Quileute Nation Members on Museum Display Opening

The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) will have a display about the Quileute Nation up for the next year. The Quileute Nation elders wanted the full story of their people out so that the fictionalized account in Twilight was not the only version readily seen by the public.

“A runaway sensation in the wider world, the “Twilight” saga has had little impact on some here. When asked about the movies and books, David Hudson, the tribe’s traditional chief, wrinkles his brow as if at a faraway noise.

“We live our culture here,” Hudson said. “We have our ocean, clams, smelt. Halibut. The woods are at our back door, with elk, cedar, bear and deer for our carving and regalia and our food. Our songs are our identity, and we can sing for hours and hours.”

Fog cruises in from the vast Pacific as he talks; the sea stacks and James Island just offshore ease in and out of view. Songs and drums boom out the door of the community center. Over at the downtown dock, tribal fishermen brought in so much halibut, they are giving it away.

“That is what we mean by rich,” Hudson says.”

The overall reception of Twilight is a mixed bag. See more at the Seattle Times.

Anna Kenndrick: Defends Twilight Fans

Anna Kendrick wins my personal hero of the month award.

Still, Kendrick bristled at the notion that “Twilight” fans, or “Twihards,” are a little overboard. “People like to make fun of the fans who camp out but people have renaissance faires; people do Civil War reenactments; people do what they like,” Kendrick said. “I’m tired of hearing people rag on the fans. If you don’t like ‘Twilight,’ don’t buy a ticket.”

MTV: Vampires Suck Meet Edward Sullen

The Vampires Suck movie has the best potential we’ve seen since Jimmy Fallon to do a really good spoof that isn’t just vague, off-topic guess work on fangs and sparking.
