Twilight Stars talk Haiti Earthquake Relief

The Twilight Examiner has a great article about Twilight stars and what they are doing to help with Earthquake Relief in Haiti.

Rachelle Lefevre donated blood to help relief and she has linked to a post with all the details HERE on how you can help.

Here are what some of the other Twilight stars are saying:

Anna Kendrick at Critics Choice Awards

Anna KendrickAnna Kendrick, who was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Up in the Air, looked stunning on the red carpet tonight! The prize went to Mo’Nique for her role in Precious. Even though she didn’t win, we want to offer Anna our congratulations on her nomination. We look forward to seeing her at the Golden Globes this Sunday evening and hopefully the Oscars later on.

Creation Entertainment’s Official Twilight Convention: Seattle Day 1

The convention got started today much later than usual because Peter Facinelli had a sudden shift in his schedule. However, Peter (because he felt bad that people might not be able to stay late to see him) decided to come on Saturday too. How cool is that! Keep up with us via Twitter.

Saoirse Ronan Talks About Twilight

Saoirse Ronan the star of The Lovely Bones who first gained widespread attention in her role in Atonement talks about the Twilight Saga and her recent work.  Rumor has it that the Lovely Bones pushed back its release date at the last minute until January in order not to compete with the Blind Slide and Twilight which were both dominating the Thanksgiving-Christmas female market.

“When reading a novel, most of us develop our own images of its characters based upon our interpretation the text. It must have been a bit surreal for you, having already played Susie, to picture yourself within the context of the book.

SR: Yeah, it’s weird. I really sympathize with the likes of Kristen Stewart, who’s playing Bella in Twilight. I think teenagers can make their points more well known than adults, and they feel quite strongly about things — [especially] with a book like Twilight, which I read and loved and that everyone just was sort of obsessed with. And if anyone has their own image of what Bella should be like and then they see Kristen, everything is blamed on her, you know? Luckily, that hasn’t happened for me, but because I’ve done about four movies now that have been based on books, I can see how people would be like that — and even how I would be like that. But I wouldn’t blame the actor or anything. I felt a little bit of pressure, not only because [The Lovely Bones] was a book but because the whole movie was, in a way, on my shoulders. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Kellan Lutz Explains Hockey Contraversy and Upcoming Roles

Last week we reported how the owner the the Peoria Hockey Team, The Rivermen, was upset with Kellan Lutz for canceling his appearance at two different events. Just Jared caught up with Kellan’s reps who clarified the situation. According to Just Jared:

“Kellan was committed to an October 23rd event, a JustJared.com source reveals, but his contract had a 30-day out (giving him up to 30 days prior to the event to cancel/reschedule). Production for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse kept getting pushed back and conflicted with that event, so Kellan’s agents rescheduled for a date in January (also with a 30-day out clause).

As for the second cancellation, Kellan was cast in a new film and the dates for that production conflicted with the rescheduled date in January. Seems like Kellan’s agent was well within the 30-day out!

“Kellan was and is more than happy to come to Peoria,” the source reveals. “But the owner of the Riverman Hockey Team is the person who is saying no. Kellan even signed 100 autographs to send to the hockey team in time for the Jan. 23rd game.”

It’s been a busy month for Kellan. He name is being widely circulated as being on the short list for the title characters in the upcoming Captain America and Conan movies.

EDITED:

E!’s Marc Malken caught up with Kellan, and Kellan confirms that he is up for Conan:

“It’s something that I’ve been actively going after because I’d die to put the weight back on,” he told us at last night’s Division-E party at Lisa Kline in L.A. “I’m tired of playing young; I want to be the big guy that I was.”

Just how close is he to winning the role?

“I’ve been auditioning,” Kellan, 24, said. “They’re finalizing so they’re trying to figure out what happens next. I’ve been waiting for a while, doing screen tests. There are just so many cooks in the kitchen. If it happens, it happens…Regardless, it’s not gonna be the new Arnold Schwarzenegger type of movie, no one’s going to try and play that role. I think they’re going younger, a different type of story. I’m just excited, because the script is great.”

USA Today: Stephenie Meyer’s ‘Twilight’ Series Sweeps Top Four Spots

USA Today is recognizing the amazing sales accomplishments of the Twilight Saga novels. According to USA Today (in what  is sure to raise a few eyebrows and draw some pitchforks):

“For the second year in a row, Meyer swept the top four spots. No other author — not even J. K. Rowling— has done that in the list’s 16-year history.

Meyer’s coattails pulled 16 other vampire titles onto the list of the year’s 100 most popular books.”

They further expand upon the idea that the Twilight Saga novels are responsible for the current vampire resurgence in another article as well.

“We have Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight vampires to thank, in part, for the fact that at least 17% of all book sales tracked in 2009 were related to vampires (and assorted other undead creatures, including zombies) or the paranormal (including paranormal romances). That was up from 14% in 2008, which in turn was way up from 2% in 2007.”

Fan Gets Phone Call with Chris Weitz

The fan who won the Twilight Twitter Sweepstakes for a call with Chris Weitz has blogged about the call.

1.) How nerve-racking was it to know you had to relocate several location for New Moon?

A.) It was really nerve-racking because I thought people would notice and be upset, it was a puzzle to get it just right. The outside of the school is all CGI, we built the stairway for the school and took stills. In the Cullen’s house I also tried to show different rooms in the house to add to the feeling of the house. When Taylor was traveling during Twilight a fan gave him a hand-carved Native American ornament. We used that ornament in Jacob’s room in New Moon.

2.) I know Edward’s car is now a dark silver, but was there any reason for the change?

A.) Availability. Volvo wanted to introduce a new car into the series, instead of the older model. So they provided a newer model, brown Volvo. Immediately we knew it had to be repainted, and chose a dark, non-shiny, black colour. It added more to the first Edward scene in the movie, the feeling is upbeat but the colour of the vehicle adds to the danger lurking.
