Kellan Lutz: A Double Helping of Interviews

PJ Star had a phone interview with Kellan in advance of his appearance at a Peoria hockey game scheduled for this weekend.

What can you tell me about “New Moon”?

As far as “New Moon” goes, it’s similar to the book. Taylor Lautner (who plays Jacob Black) does an amazing job and (director) Chris Weitz does an even better job of captivating the (werewolves) and making them real characters, in a way. It’s more of a manly movie.

What do you do to get into character, to get your mind into the vampire world?

For me, when I’m away on set, the energy I get from my workouts and the training I do – especially with filming “Eclipse” right now – helps put myself in the mindset of becoming Emmett. It’s a lot of testosterone buildup, I guess (laughs). A lot of times what helps is to do quick pushups to get the heart rate going.

In “New Moon,” when Jasper comes out in this whole rage sequence, it’s really nice to have your heart pumping during that scene.”

Seventeen Magazine has a collection of Kellan quotables.

“When I’m at craft services, I make the BEST-tasting, 10-layer meat and cheese sandwich with no bread. It’s five different types of meat, three pieces of turkey, then provolone cheese, then three pieces of ham, then American cheese, then three pieces of turkey, then a chicken cutlet! Then I put chicken salad on top of that, and I finish it off with Swiss cheese, then honey mustard. I’d just be walking around with this huge sandwich, it was so good!”

HillyFans Runs Contest

This in from HillyFans, the Hillywood Show fansite:

We all know the New Moon Parody is coming up. We also know that THS funds their own parodies. Well, did you know that John Henson is costuming it, and that HE also funds his own ventures? He has to buy a lot of couture items, and it tends to cost a ton of money (we have an interview with him on the site, if you want to check it out).

HillyFans.Com is running a Costume Donation Fund! All the money will go directly to John to help make the Parody look as authentic as it can, and we’re just the medium to get the donations to him. Plus, as an incentive for you guys to donate, we’re just giving away tons of memorabilia (some isn’t listed on the site yet, but trust me, it’s FABULOUS). We have things donated by various artists: me, jewelers on etsy… and John Henson himself! These are things from his personal collection! We can’t announce everything we’re giving away just yet… but you’ll see why soon!

Here’s where you can check out one of the only ways to say that you helped with the NM Parody!

We (HF.C, THS and John Henson) would really appreciate if you just took a few moments to check out the donation page! Please keep checking back with HF.C to see the winners of the raffle PLUS a new contest to celebrate the release of the New Moon Parody!

And here we thought yesterday’s clip was good. It gives the sentence (granted from Breaking Dawn) “Aro sounded bored.” new meaning!  Check out this new scene on Yahoo.

InStyle Talks to the New Moon Design Team

InStyle has the rundown direct from costume designer, Tish Monaghan.

On Alice’s signature style Tish said,

“Alice: The Family Fashionista

1. FASHION: “Alice [Ashley Greene] is the most stylish Cullen and she’s into accessories!” declares Monaghan, who chose the crimson-hued Gala gloves because “they looked bloody cute!” (Try these Ann Taylor gloves for a similar look.) Mongahan also used accessories from Banana Republic, Ray-Ban and Lacoste to complete Alice’s stylish ensembles.
2. BEAUTY: For Alice’s vampire pout, makeup artist Norma Hill-Patton played up Greene’s natural lip color with MAC Llipglass in the now-discontinued Plum Parfait shade (try Spite for a similar look). Hill-Patton also added extra volume to Alice’s lashes using Ardell DuraLash Flare falsies in Short Black.”
Check out the tricks of the trade the Tish employed to make Taylor look bigger, Dakota evil and more.

New Moon Cast at Rome Film Festival

Cameron Bright, Melissa Rosenberg, Charlie Bewley, and Jamie Campbell-Bower were all at the Rome Film Festival to debut New Moon clips for the Italian fans.

“Breaking Dawn: will it be filmed? When?”
Rosenberg and the actors declined to answer, and only said they are perfectly happy with the first three films. (They didn’t say “We don’t know yet”, they actually skirted the question…) Rosenberg said she has chosen to focus on the emotional journey of the book, and tried to replicate it in her script. This meant condensing some scenes, expanding other scenes with more action sequences. In the first movie she was very protective of her script, and felt Meyer was a strong external influence; but this time she realized Meyer was very cooperative, and a pleasure to work with.”
