IESB: Peter Facinelli Part one, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and More

peterpremiereIESB sat down with Peter facinelli to discuss his acting future.

IESB: David Slade, how was he on set? Every director seems to bring something a little different to the franchise, how different was Slade, considering he knows the vampire genre.

PF: I thought he was a great fit for what they were going for. Every movie has had a little bit of different energy, I think the director sets the tone and David brought a great quality to it, it has a lot more action and I think he understands the action elements to it as well as the love story. There is a lot going on in that book and I was glad he was at the helm.

IESB: Do these events ever get tiring, I don’t mean in a bad way but Comic-con and different events all over the world, does it get a little like, “Wow, there is too much for me to do!”

PF: No, I mean it would be a lot more work this morning if nobody showed up (laughing), so the fact that people are interested and people are willing to take the time to come out to come out and support something that I think is important and also to come out and meet me, I’m always grateful for.

IESB: As an artist are you looking to break off and do a different role now?

PF: I’ve been working for 15 years so I don’t feel like the Twilight movies define me as a person, I am very grateful to have it as part of my career. I’m also currently on Nurse Jackie with Edie Falco which is a total 180 degree turn from this so for me I’ve, throughout these 15 years, have tried to play different characters and every time my agents say, “What do you want to do next?” I say, “Anything I haven’t done before.”

Peter Facinelli’s Nurse Jackie Contest Deadline Feb. 21st!

Peter Facinelli wants to remind fans about a Nurse Jackie YouTube contest that he is running. See full details here. As you can see from the above video, Peter has the whole behind the scenes video diary down.

Peter Facinelli to Sign Autographs for UNICEF, Haiti

Folks in SoCal are in for a treat. Peter Facinelli will be hosting a charity even for UNICEF and Haiti on February 21st in Rancho Cucamonga.  CHeck out the LA TIMES for all the details.

Pics with Facinelli, who also stars in “Nurse Jackie” on Showtime, will be $40 a pop and autographs are $25; a portion of proceeds will go to UNICEF. Lifestream will conduct a blood drive, and there will be a live radio remote by KGGI-99.1/FM. (Psst: 20 winners of a KGGI contest will get a VIP meet-and-greet with Peter in advance of the noon-to-6 p.m. event, held at Victoria Gardens’ AMC Courtyard.)

Peter Facinelli Brings the House Down in Temeluca

peter_jeansBy all accounts Peter Facinelli was a smash hit where upwards of 1,000 people turned out to get an autograph and photo (with part of the proceeds going to charity).

According to the Southwest Riverside News:

“Thousands of Southwest Riverside Twi-hards braved sheets of rain and crowded into the plaza for a glimpse of Facinelli. All waited patiently in lines that stretched in a seemingly endless queue throughout the mall.

The event was part of an effort to raise funds for UNICEF with a portion of the proceeds going towards helping the Haiti earthquake victims. At $25 for autographs and $40 for a photo, it is expected that a considerable sum will be raised to benefit the Haiti relief efforts.”

According to the Press Enterprise (they also have video coverage if you click the link):

“A queue of more than 2,000 people stretched from the platform, where Facinelli awaited flushed-faced teens, past several storefronts.

Some people waited for upwards of five hours with “Twilight” books, posters and T-shirts in hand for a chance to get their keepsakes signed, as well as a chance to hug, shake hands — and get a kiss on the cheek from Facinelli.

“I’m never washing my face again,” a hyperventilating Lynzie Maloney shrieked as she bounded from the mall with her best friend Rachel Barraza, who was also close to tears.

“This is the best day of my life,” screamed Rachel, whose hands were shaking with excitement.”

And what did Peter have to say about all of this?

He turned his IPhone around to film the crowd and Tweeted it! Then he told the press, “You never get used to it, I’m surprised every time I show up,” he said. “It makes you feel that you have done something right, and it’s great to see so many people come out and support a great cause.

“The crowd here has been awesome.”

Stars Hit the Convention Circuit

Peter Facinelli talked to The Tennessean about why he choses to do conventions and signing events.

“What are these conventions like for you?

Whenever you have something in common and get together and share your excitement, it’s a great thing. There are Q-and-As with the actors; you get to take pictures with them, get autographs, signatures with them. For me, it’s a fun way to connect with the fans and just have a moment where they can ask questions.

I’m a fan of the books, and I actually enjoy getting together with other fans of the books. When I was a kid growing up, if I looked up to somebody, if I could have been sitting down with Paul Newman to talk about Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, that would have been really exciting. I look at it the other way around now, being able to sit down with fans of the movies. I love to be able to give back, in that sense.”

Peter is appearing in Nashville this weekend at the Creation Convention with: Michael Welch, Gil Birmingham(just added), Daniel Cudmore, Charlie Bewley, Kiowa Gordon, and Bronson Pelletier.

You can catch other stars at upcoming events:

Chaske Spencer at a Worchester Sharks Hockey Game.

Daniel Cudmore at Dallas Comic Con

ET: Peter Facinelli on Twitter, Cooper, and Carlisle

Peter_FacinelliET caught up with Peter Facinelli and asked him to recap a whirlwind year and to tell us what’s up for 2010.

“It’s been a busy year for ‘The Twilight Saga’ star Peter Facinelli who has been juggling his schedule between shooting ‘Eclipse,’ the next film in the vampire franchise, with his role as Dr. Fitch Cooper on “Nurse Jackie.” ET caught up with the jet-lagged actor to talk about both projects and his addiction to Twitter.

ET: You have a huge following on Twitter. What made you start?

Peter Facinelli: I just enjoy what Twitter is because I can really connect with the fans. It is a great way to share information with them and it is a good way to entertain. I like being able to put a smile on people’s faces and mix that up with sharing information with them. That’s important. Also, letting them know what I am doing. I have had people come to me and say, “Will you tweet this out?” There is like paid advertisement stuff. I am not into that. I want to keep my Twitter pure. I don’t want to sell my followers anything, I want to be able to have that base, so I can tell them what I am doing and entertain them

ET: What will we learn about Dr. Carlisle Cullen in ‘Eclipse’?

Peter Facinelli: You get to see a side of Carlisle you haven’t seen before. There are some great battle sequences.”
