What’s Missing from Breaking Dawn Part 2 Footage

For Laura’s Movies.com column this week she covers what are the most important items that we haven’t seen or barely seen.

Lastly, for a franchise that has built itself on romance, there is a decided lack of romance that has been shown to fans other than those who attended Comic-Con. That footage is pretty much nowhere to be found online so it’s probably fair to say the majority of the 30 million fans on Facebook alone probably haven’t seen it.  We have gotten a brief glimpse of Edward and Bella holding hands in the first trailer, and those that went to the Target DVD release got a sweet moment of Edward and Bella in their cottage, but that’s it. Footage was definitely shot in the cottage location (which is a fan favorite romance moment), but how much of that sequence is in the movie remains to be seen.

Special Scene At End of Breaking Dawn Part 2

At an event for iD gum, Kellan Lutz told TheInsider.com that there is a special scene after the end credits for Breaking Dawn Part 2.

“They’re gonna love it, and Bill [Bill Condon, the director] even told me that, stay for the credits — there’s a really special thing happening.”

This follows the pattern Condon set in Breaking Dawn Part 1.  There was an extra scene that hinted at what was to come.  Even though we tried to get the word out, we heard from many fans who missed it.  So consider this your warning!  Stay through the credits!

Kellan also talked about the news that the film differs from the book.

“Every film’s been building and building, and Bill Condon really had a great idea with ending the series with Breaking Dawn 2, and just adding a little more flavor to parts of the book that weren’t there, but he elaborated more on,” he says. “I think the fans are really going to enjoy it.”

Poll take 2: When did you first read the Twilight books?

twilight-booksWhen we ran the initial poll about when fans started reading the books in relation to the movie, we found out through the comments that we weren’t quite specific enough. So we thought we would see if the results differed a bit by changing up the wording.  Thanks so much for participating and leaving all the great feedback!  Let us know if you think this poll made it easier for you to answer.

Poll: When did you first read the Twilight books?

twilight-booksWe were contacted by a representative of Read Magazine to conduct a poll of Twilight fans about how the Twilight films have encouraged them to read the Twilight books.  We thought it sounded like an interesting poll to conduct, especially since we are approaching the final film in the series.  So please take a moment to participate in the poll below and let us know when you read the Twilight books.  Did you read them before you ever saw the films?  Did you read them after you became interested in the films?  Or are you one of the few who has never read the books at all?

New Face Friday: Meet Noel Fisher

This week’s “new face” isn’t so new to those of you who are active on Twitter.  Noel Fisher plays Vladimir in Breaking Dawn Part 2.  He and his Romanian coven counterpart, Guri Weinberg, have become rather popular on twitter and in the fandom.  You may have caught him in Hatfields & McCoys or Shameless.  Read the full interview at Team Twilight.   And if you need to refresh your memory about Vladimir, check out his character bio here.

It’s been a really good year for you professionally, with playing a great character on Shameless, and then the role of Cotton Top on Hatfields & McCoys. What made you pick a 3000 year old grumpy vampire? Why did you want that role?

I actually booked Twilight before Shameless or Hatfields & McCoys, but obviously the Twilight franchise is in a world of its own, a class of its own. It’s really really different from anything else I’ve ever done. And that’s something that I try and do with my parts, kind of pick parts that are really different from one another and I’m also just a huge geek at heart, too. I love vampire stuff, I love fantasy/sci-fi, and all that kind of stuff so it’s right up my alley. That was another lucky thing. I get to play like a 3000 year old bad-ass vampire. That’s awesome!

You filmed Hatfields & McCoys in Romania and you played a Romanian vampire in Breaking Dawn. Did you feel a special bond with the country when you were there filming?

I don’t know, I basically thought it was a really funny coincidence that I was going there just a few months after Twilight wrapped. I thought that was quite funny. We shot near Vlad the Impaler’s actual castle, which isn’t really a castle anymore. It’s basically a bunch of rubble now, but some of the drivers in Romania were telling us that just a few miles from where we were was a pile of rubble that was actually Vlad the Impaler’s old spot. So I thought that was kind of cool.
