Page Numbers: 3-34
Date of Chapter: May 14, 2006
Summary:
After receiving a heart wrenching note from best friend and werewolf Jacob Black, Bella seems more determined than ever to mend their broken friendship. Charlie has decided to release Bella from her punishment under the condition that she not neglect her other friendships, particularly that of Jacob Black’s. Bella agrees, grateful for the freedoms this will give her to both spend time with Edward, and attempt to visit Jacob. Her freedom doesn’t include a visit to the nearby city of Seattle Washington, which is currently the setting for a rash of serial killings that are Edward claims are the work of a vampire.
After Edward arrives for his typical evening visit the two spend time filling out college applications and revealing, much to Charlie’s dismay, that both have been accepted to Alaska University. While pondering the wildlife populations of both Alaska and Antarctica, Bella gently broaches the subject of a visit to La Push. A visit which Edward adamantly opposes.
The two are left at yet another impasse as Bella is resigned to see her best friend and Edward has vowed to stop her.

We are currently in need of some help at the Lex!
We need someone with the skills and ability to draw complex tables with the computer. Specifically, we’re looking for someone who can create a family tree of sorts for the Quileute tribe. This would entail having a working knowledge of the pack and would require some research. We’d like it to look like a real family tree, if possible. Something similar, but certainly not as complex as the Black Family Tree in the HP fandom. If you have been trying to figure out the pack family tree on your own and would like to offer up your findings to the cause but aren’t able to fill the position of actually creating the tree, that’s fine. We would be interested in seeing what you have.
We are also wanting to build a very rough diagram of the Cullen home based on a quickly drawn up sketch from Stephenie. This would require you to use your imagination a bit to make things work since Stephenie isn’t an architect and not all the line meet.
If you would like to apply for one or both jobs, please e-mail me an example of your work. Do not reply here if you are interested in the job. You must send me an e-mail with your work attached. twl_at_twilightlexicon_dot_com
Thanks!

UPDATE – I’ve had more than enough offers at this point. No need to send in anything more. If something doesn’t pan out I will ask for help again. Thanks!
Thanks to the tech savvy Matt (can I just say I want your equipment!) we have YouTube coverage of Stephenie and Eclipse being featured on the ABC World Weekly Report. Alphie and I both screamed out loud when we saw the Lexicon Picture featured prominently in the coverage.:
I thought you’d all like to know that I just got an e-mail from Stephenie infroming me that she will appear on ABC Weekly World Report on Sunday night at 6:30. To be on the safe side check your local listings for more information, and check if there is a sporting event beforehand. If so you might want to extend your recording time.
Also, for those of you who have asked, we will start updating the rest of the Lexicon with Eclipse related information starting next week sometime.

Also just out today are the New York TImes Best Seller rankings. The Twilight Saga, as it is being referred to, is in second place to Harry Potter. Just for some clarity, now that this is a series book count. This means all seven Harry Potter Books sales give it the number one ranking and all three Twilight books give it the number two.
Based on sales of Deathly Hallows and Eclipse alone, Eclipse is number 1 on both the Barnes and Noble Hourly Top 100, Wallstreet Journal and USA Today lists. It should also be noted that their lists lump all fiction together, so two YA books taking the top two spots is fantastic.

Edited again: ridiculouskopec sent me this link to her release pictures. You can find them in her photobucket album here.
Stephenie will be doing her first official Canadian signing on November 2nd in Toronto Canada.
In Person: Stephenie Meyer
Indigo Eaton Centre, Toronto
Friday, November 2nd at 7:00 pm
Meet bestselling author Stephenie Meyer as she chats about and signs copies of her latest book, Eclipse. Proof of purchase from any Chapters, Indigo, or Coles required.
USA Today is reporting that Eclipse in it’s 10th day of release has knocked Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows off of its number one spot on the USA Today list.
Once again, we love Harry Potter and don’t wish any ill will to JK Rowling and her fans. Also, once again, no one is trying to compare the literary merit of the two books, especially since they are not in the same genre (HP=hero’s quest vs. Eclispe=romance) other than they are primarily directed to YA fantasy readers.
On the other hand, this is quite a sales accomplishment. It has taken other novels much longer to do this than it has Eclipse.
Also as a reminder, please keep all comments relevant to this post. If you want to talk about other items, or ask a mod an off topic question, use our forums.

I want to make a point that this is the USA today list and not the New York Times best seller list. We’re still waiting on the latter.
