Twilight Fans Line Streets and Media Surprised Again

I suppose I should be used to it by now, the assumption that Twilight fans only read Twilight, we only like virginal movies, we are all teenagers, and we have no outside interests.

The reporter from The Gothamist got quite the education checking out the line of Twilight fans lined up to see Robert Pattinson in the Cosmopolis premiere. One of the people on line was a 60-year-old grandmother and her husband!

Margaret Burton (L), 24, film student from NJ, says, “[Rob’s] charming, talented, a musician. He’s a chameleon. He’s a risk taker like Johnny Depp. If I get to see him, sleeping over will be worth it.” On his split with K-Stew: “That’s their issue. It’s private. Who am I but a fan? I just admire their work.”

Lisa Maldomado (R), 21, student arrived yesterday by herself, made friends with Margaret, and says people keep asking them what they’re protesting

Most fan reaction was similar to the girls quoted above. See the whole article and more fan reaction on The Gothamist. (Note: click through their pictures to see the quotes)

Robert Hits the Daily Show and Gets Ice Cream

Robert Pattinson hit the Daily Show to promote Cosmopolis. He was asked about the recent Kristen Stewart scandal but pretty much ducked addressing the situation. Host John Stewart started out with a unique welcome to Twilight fans in the audience who may not have been familiar with the show’s format (it’s way different than Leno or Letterman) and proceeded to serve ice cream to make Rob feel better.

Happy Anniversary to Bella and Edward

Today is the official date on invitations from Bella and Edward’s wedding in the movie.

Don’t Fry You Computer on a Stewart and Pattinson Story

TY to Josh for pointing this out to us. New stories that are film related seem to currently pose no threat. However items regarding the actors’ personal lives are causing an issue according to one expert.

We’ve seen this kind of thing before. Usually around the time each movie comes out people will end up with their computers destroyed by searching on “free Twilight movie”. the links are almost always a scam laden with viruses. Well, it seems in light of recent news, the spammers are finding a new trick. it’s also important because with Twitter short links you don’t always know where you’re being directed to.

According to Fox:

Furthermore, rogue attackers are constantly coming up with new ways to trick users, generating fake news stories containing scareware to appear in top search results. So if you spot a Stewart scandal-related story that is just too juicy to be true, and you aren’t familiar with the source, odds are it is hazardous to your computer’s health.

Unfortunately, unlike 2010, when you could usually see the URL to which you were being directed, the current proliferation of microblogging sites like Twitter makes it harder to detect the origin of the links, raising your chance of infection.

“The bigger the risk with celebrity scams is that you will receive tiny URLs links to stories on Twitter and on Facebook … so they can ‘clickjack’ you,” Gregg said.

In the interest of keeping your computers in one piece, if you are following the personal lives of the actors, we’d recommend staying with places like MTV, E!, EW, Access Hollywood, People, and TMZ. They are virus free and generally have a fairly good basis in fact rather than wild and unsubstantiated speculation.

Again, news stories related to film content seem to be OK, but use common sense. If you’ve heard of the site it’s probably fine. If it’s a site you’ve never heard of, what’s the likelihood they have a scoop.

Cullen Family Breaking Dawn Dollhouse Replica

So I was in New York City with some friends. We ended up in FAO Schwartz because my out-of-town friends had never been there. All of a sudden, my friend Natalie says, “Isn’t that the Twilight house?” I turn around and there is this dollhouse replica of the Cullen house. So I shot a quick video on my IPhone of what it looked like. The manufacturer is a company called Manhattan Dollhouse. The model is The Edward.

New Renesmee Character Art

A new image of Renesmee has surfaced, this time as official character art like the ones released at Comic Con.  She looks similar to what we’ve seen in other promo still, but this is the first image we’ve had of her on her own.  Tell us what you think in the comments.

Jack Morrissey Answers more Breaking Dawn 2 Questions at Team Jack

Team Jack released another set of questions and answers from Jack Morrissey about Breaking Dawn Part 2.  Here are some of the highlights.

Will Heart of Stone be on the BD2 soundtrack?

Jack: Yes, it will.

At Comic Con press conference Kristen said vamp sex was rated R, so no sex scenes in BD2 at all?!

Jack: Um, you’re gonna get what you want, believe me.

Where are Edward, Bella and Renesmee when everyone else is gathered around the fire? In the tent?

Jack: Bella and Renesmee are, yes – you’ve seen that still. Edward is right outside, talking with Carlisle.

Will we hear Bella’s Lullaby in Carter Burwell’s score?

Jack: Yes, of course. That’s always been a main theme as it’s essentially Bella’s story, isn’t it.

What does Renesmee call her parents? Mom and Dad? Or momma like in the book?

Jack: Momma, I think.

Are we going to see some Charlie/Sue love during the Christmas scenes?

Jack: Yes, you will!

Will we see the necklace Aro sent to Bella as a wedding gift? It wasn’t in the trailer.

Jack: Yes you will. 99.9999999 percent of the movie is not in any trailer or still.

Stephenie Meyer: $14 million – Forbes.com
With “Twilight” behind her, Meyer’s no longer riding quite so high, but the phenomenon she started lives on in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which originated as fan fiction modeled on her vampire romance.
