Stephenie Meyer Deletes Her MySpace

Stephenie updated her website to include the following information (bolding and italics added by us):

“A quick fyi: I am taking down my bloated myspace page. It was a lot of fun while it lasted, and I really miss the early days when I could hang out with people online. Many of you are hilarious and insightful, and I wish it was easier for me to talk to everyone the way I used to.

With the myspace no longer in existence, I can now clearly state that—beside than this website—there is no other outlet where I communicate with people online. I do not have a facebook page, and I have never had one. I don’t do twitter. So if you’re communicating with someone online that you think is me, it’s not.

Hope you all are having a great summer so far! If you’re looking for some beach reading, you might try Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series if you haven’t already. My son finally finished book five yesterday so I could read it today. It was a fantastic end to a fantastic series. I tip my hat to you, Mr. Riordan!”

Kristen Stewart in Allure Magazine in November

Allure magazine has solved the mystery of just what Kristen was shooting on the Santa Monica Pier yesterday.

“Yesterday we had a photo shoot with New Moon star Kristen Stewart outside on the Santa Monica Pier—and if you think she looks freaking amazing in these pictures (no surprise, makeup artist Dick Page and hairstylist Serge Normant were on hand), wait until you see the real thing. Our photographs, shot by Michael Thompson, will be on Allure‘s November cover…”

Tom Felton As Riley?

We’ve had a ton of Tweets and emails, not to mention a request to advertise an online petition, concerning actor Tom Felton.  Tom is mostly recognized for his role as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies. It seems that he’s a popular fan favorite, and somehow the online discussion went from “he’d be great in this part” to “he’s been cast in this part”.

The Tom Felton fansite, Feltbeats.com, that Tom regularly communicates with, has been similarly bombarded. So, they asked Tom, and this is what he had to say:

“I’ll be ready when they want me! Really, I’m only joking. I’m not really sure at this point; but you will be the first to know if I find out anything!”

Tom later Tweetedi keep getting asked if i’m being cast as Riley in Twilight! I’ll let you all know if so!!!”

Twilight Cast Signed Ottoman Up For Bid

Kristen Stewart, Nikki Reed, and Robert Pattinson signed an ottoman that was used as a celebrity seat at Vancouver’s Fashion Week. Their signatures joined those of other celebrities.

The Ottoman is now being auctioned off to raise money for the David Suzuki Foundation. The foundation is concerned with various environmental issues like global warming.

You can place your bid on Ebay. Currently the going price is $500 (Canadian Dollars)…and you have to be a Canadian to bid on it! So Canadians, you don’t have to worry about outside bidders!

Plan Out Your Twilight Birthday

The folks over at Celebrations who recently came up with a Twilight themed Valentine’s Day celebration have now come up with birthday ideas.

Just for starters they have various drink ideas for both the over and under 21 crowd:

Must Have Twilight Party Drinks:

  • Apple Beer: This nonalcoholic beer comes in a bottle adorned with black label and red apple front and center – just like the first book in the Twilight series.
  • Red Apple Martinis: Create a red apple martini to honor Twilight (recipe in the drinks section of this article). To create a bloody great drink, dip the top of the martini glass in a mixture of corn syrup and red food coloring, allowing the excess to slightly drip down the sides of the glass like blood.
  • Red non-alcoholic punch: Simply pour Hawaiian red soda into a large punch bowl and float ice and apples in the bowl – it’s perfect for the underage or designated drivers who still want to partake in the Twilight birthday revelry.

Native America Calling Features Twilight

The Native America Calling radio program is featuring a Twilight discussion on this Friday’s show. According to the group’s press release and website:

Friday, June 5, 2009 – Vampires, Werewolves, and Quileutes:
The top four best selling books of 2008 were Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” saga. The popular young adult vampire novels have thrust the Quileute Nation of Washington into the lexicon of the American tween-ager. The author sets her stories on the Olympic Peninsula, ancestral lands of the Quileute, and bases her tribal characters on a Quileute legend of how the tribe descended from wolves. How do the Quileutes feel about being portrayed as werewolves? Have the books and subsequent film created more interest and tourism for the tribe? How can tribes benefit or suffer from portrayals in popular novels written by outsiders? Guests TBA.

You can listen on the Internet here. The Quileute is a Sovereign Nation and have their own government inside of the United States that consists of a Tribal council with staggered terms. The current council  is lead by Chair, Carol Hatch(pictured left).
