ET: Pop Culture Moments 2010

triobannerrevealTwilight and Twilight connected stars dominated this year’s ET Pop Culture  Moments list:

‘Valentine’s Day’ (February 12) – Director Garry Marshall’s ensemble romantic comedy may have fizzled at the box office like a bad date, but all eyes — and tabloids — were on cute couple Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner, who dated briefly as a result of working together.

‘Remember Me’ (March 12) – Coming off the strength of his first two ‘Twilight’ hits, Robert Pattinson’s serious turn in this romantic drama got more press than box office for the film’s somewhat controversial 9/11 twist ending and the fact that most Twi-hards kept their distance.

The Runaways’ (March 19) – Coming off the strength off her first two ‘Twilight’ hits, expectations were high for Kristen Stewart’s turn as Joan Jett in this rock ‘n’ roll biopic of the all-girl ’70s band. Again, most Twi-hards kept their distance. On the plus side, former child star Dakota Fanning finally came into her own with her adult role as rocker Cherie Currie.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ (June 30) – Twi-hards continued to line up in droves, beginning with midnight screenings, to drink in the third chapter of the Stephenie Meyer vamps vs. werewolves saga this summer. The world got plenty of shirtless shots of Taylor Lautner, not to mention the big-screen ‘Twilight’ parody ‘Vampires Suck.'”

Nikki Reed and Hanson Take the Walk

Back in November Nikki Reed professed her Hanson love on her website. She flew to see their show in Virginia just before Thanksgiving. Nikki wrote:

“My letter to Hanson was nothing more than a fan letter. I am not a musician, so I couldn’t relate on that level, all I could do was tell them how much I appreciated their music, and hope one day they would read it. I waited and I waited for a reply. In fact I even tried tracking the letter through my agency (we are at the same agency) to see if they had received it. After four months, I got a response! I was over the moon! Not only did they write back to me, I was also invited to a show! Due to my relatively hectic schedule, it was difficult trying to figure out where and how this would happen, but as the saying goes, where there’s a will there’s a way. I spent hours on a genius website called tourtracker.com, to find out where they were playing. Unfortunately, they are only moving further and further away from me. So the story ends with this. On Saturday I am flying all the way across the country to Virginia, to see Hanson play, and I can’t wait!”

Hanson also participates in Take the Walk, an organization that addresses the HIV and poverty in Africa and the lack of such basic items as shoes and water. Nikki joined them in a walk for Take the Walk. It had to be cold walking barefoot!

Any Hanson fans out there? Do you think they might work well on a Breaking Dawn soundtrack?

Nikki Reed on Indie Film Love

This summer Nikki Reed was interviewed at the Tribecca Film Festival. The footage was only just released. Believe it or not, all the Twilight Saga films are independent films, granted they make a ton of money but they are indie projects. Each one has had the ability to do things that Nikki talks about in the interview.

Merry Christmas 2010: A Stephenie Meyer Short Story

Christmas

Remember fall 2006? New Moon had only just been published. There was no movie.  There was no wild buzz in every corner of the Internet. There was no official release date with in-store midnight parties. There were just two books in a series.

Stephenie Meyer wrote an article for Ensign Magazine, the magazine of the LDS church, about the spirit of Christmas. It has become the Lexicon’s traditional Christmas post.

A very Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year to you and your families.

Happy Birthday Stephenie

May you have a year filled with laughter and love!

Christmas Decorating Twilight Style

Amanda Bell, the Twilight Examiner, has a really great article up featuring people who have decorated their trees in a Twilight style.

Check out Amanda’s article and a great photo gallery here.

On the other hand SNL seems to have gone beyond tree decorating and has a pop culture manger scene.

What do you think of SNL’s choice(via Twifans), does it go too far? What do you think about holiday Twilight decorating?
