Stephenie Meyer Addresses Breaking Dawn Rumors

stephe

This was just posted on Stephenie Meyer’s personal website:

Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I’ve said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I’m all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I’ve spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We’re all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip get fabricated to stir things up, but there’s no basis to this particular story.

Steph”

Yesterday, prior to this LA Times article appearing, E!’s The Awful Truth column ran a story that was then widely quote that Stephenie Meyer was essentially the only stumbling block to a movie not being announced. The E! story concluded with a statement directly addressing Stephenie Meyer: “… Steph, just some more food for thought: If you put the kibosh on an extra Twilight film, Twi-hards are going to have your rich little booty for din-din! Trust us, you’ll be skinned alive, diced, fried and then flambéed alive.

These are fans you do not want to disappoint.”

The Littlest Twilight Fan

RPatzNews Tweeted about this and it’s pretty funny, not quite the dancing YouTube baby, but still…in retrospect maybe she’s more the youngest Robert Pattinson fan.  The video kind of reminds me of a kid I used to babysit for back in the day, only then it was Shawn Cassidy and not Rob. Around the 3:15 mark or so is a moment.

Collider Interviews Peter Facinelli on Carlise, Coop, and Twitter

Question: Does Carlisle have a lot to do in Eclipse?

PETER FACINELLI: Yes, he does a lot. A lot more than the first two films, for sure. You know, what I like about the third movie is that you get to see a side of Carlisle you haven’t seen before. You actually get to see what his vampire capabilities are because there’s some great battle sequences. It’s my favorite book.

When do you hear about Breaking Dawn?

FACINELLI: I don’t know. Usually the fans know before I do, so I’m sure I’ll see it on the internet before I get the phone call.

Is Twitter part of your job now?

FACINELLI: No, I just enjoy what Twitter is because I can really connect with the fans. It’s a great way to share information with them and it’s also a great way to entertain. I like being able to put a smile on people’s faces and I like being able to also mix that up with sharing information with them that’s important, and also letting them know what I’m doing. I’ve had people come to me and say, “Hey, will you tweet this out?” There’s like pay advertisement stuff. I’m not into that. I like to keep my Twitter pure. I don’t want to sell my followers anything. I want to be able to have that fan base so I can tell them what I’m doing and entertain them.

Producer Wyck Godfrey: So Where Are We With Breaking Dawn?

Bella and Edward

This is an article that you are going to want to read. It covers timing, the Renesmee problem, and shooting location.  What is notable is that this is the first time a shooting location has been mentioned directly by someone from Summit. Several websites had information up claiming the production would be back in Portland. One site was so sure of this information that they actually had initially listed Lana Veenker as the casting agent and later put out a put a press release detailing Portland information.

“When it was released in August 2008, fan reaction was intense and divided with some “Twi-hards” expressing confusion and dismay over a plot that involved *SPOILER ALERT* a recently graduated  19-year-old Bella giving birth to a half-human/half-vamp daughter named Renesmee, who grows much faster than the average mortal child and who possesses a unique way of communicating with those around her, clearly inherited from Dad’s side of the family.

Wyck Godfrey, the producer of all the films in the “Twilight” saga, admits that the creative team still doesn’t know how they’ll handle the character in the “Breaking Dawn” movie, but said that the plan is absolutely for the production to go forward — as either one or two installments — with an eye toward beginning to shoot in Vancouver this fall. All three stars are signed for “Breaking Dawn,” he said, meaning that Stewart and Pattinson will be dealing with the joys and woes of interspecies parenting and newly minted heartthrob Taylor Lautner will return as often-shirtless shape-shifter Jacob Black.”

Ashley Greene: Helping Others With Teens For Jeans

This just in from the people at Teens For Jeans (a great charity if you have never heard of them). Prior to this, Ashley has also been involved in a similar cause called “Donate My Dress“.

“The campaign, spearheaded by NYC-based teen retailer Aéropostale and teen not-for-profit DoSomething.org, raises awareness about youth homelessness by inspiring teens across the US and Canada to collect gently-used jeans and donate them to homeless youth right in their own communities. Last year, the campaign collected over 200,000 pairs of jeans and this year teens are already gearing up to top that effort. Drop-offs are located at all Aéropostale stores from January 19th through February 14th, 2010.

“When I heard the statistics, it was hard to ignore,” explains Ashley Green. “Traveling the country for Twilight and New Moon has given me the opportunity to meet teens from a wide variety of economic backgrounds. I want to do everything I can to help young people take action about this important issue.”

“Teens for Jeans is special because it engages everyone; our customers, store associates and the community,” says Aéropostale Senior Vice President of Marketing, Scott Birnbaum. “A simple act like donating a pair of jeans can truly have a direct and meaningful impact on someone’s life.”

Starting Tuesday, January 19th until Sunday, February 14th, people are encouraged to bring in any brand of their gently worn jeans to any Aéropostale store in the U.S. and Canada. Aéropostale and DoSomething.org will make sure the jeans are donated to one of the 600 local youth shelters that have been selected as partners. As an extra incentive for those who donate, Aéropostale will give an additional 25% off a new pair of jeans, though no purchase is necessary. Donors will also have the chance to win signed jeans from Shia Lebeouf, Chris Pine, Penn Badgley, Dakota Fanning, Taylor Swift and many more of today’s young stars.

“We love that teens will be racing to the mall this January, and they won’t be going in empty-handed,” says DoSomething.org Chief Marketing Officer Aria Finger. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Aéropostale on the third annual Teens for Jeans and engaging hundreds of thousands of teens to take action across the US and Canada.”

In addition to getting customers involved in stores, Aéropostale and DoSomething.org are encouraging teenagers in their local high schools and colleges to coordinate Teens for Jeans school drives. Students who collect more than 500 pairs of jeans will receive a banner for their school, recognition on the DoSomething.org and Aéropostale websites and the chance to win a pizza party for their entire class.
